salford1: I was the democratic support officer for my birth local authority in one of my many incarnations years ago, so its somewhat a field of mine. I was in the mayor's office with mayoral powers and oversight and used to joke that I singlehandedly supported democracy on my shoulders so borough residents could exercise their democratic powers which included voting. Liberal we are down here. History of not being liberal has taught us to be, and as the land of evolution be just keep becoming more liberal. 1 Like |

The other one he posted from UK GOV has nothing to do with voters ID. It's an entirely different law. See full screenshot below It only mentioned a draft bill about voters ID. The highlight in yellow says proposed and draft, yet he has no clue. It's apparent that the English Language is hard for some. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-law-passed-will-make-voting-in-uk-general-election-fairer 2 Likes 1 Share

benalvino2: I wonder how many times I have to read what I've posted 3 times already and that you fail to read even once! Bill? Its still only in the Conservative manifesto of 2019, and hasn't even gotten in the Queen’s Speech yet, which is on 11 May, and if you know anything about UK you'll know is the very first step and goes something like "My Government plans to", at best. |

This Georgia ID law has made leftists loose their minds. United Airlines who require an ID to board their flights were calling the voter ID requirement for Georgia racist. Better still they now say half of the next 5000 pilots they train will be black women or women of color. Apparently black women with commerical licences are about 150 only (1% of total )where will they get the next 2000 or so black women to train and qualify as commercial pilots? Oh and they want want trans people to qualify as pilots. Someone who can't make up his/her mind on whether he/she is a he/she/them/they flying a commercial flight? Forgetting that trans have an over 40% suicide rate. Speaking of voter ID being racist. Does any one here have an exmple of a black who is not able to buy a beer, own a bank account, take a flight, claim lottery win, use seasonal tickets etc because they dont have some ID? 2 Likes |

donjazet: Very good, man. Most often than not when one is in the mood for it, Twitter seems to be best online platform for these socio-politico-economic debates/back-and-forths, unlike the echo chambers which are Facebook and Nairaland with less diverse takes, post reach and debators spread across different racial, social and political demographies. |

Mockery, eco chamber and insults is what the topic is all about. No one has an open mind. It is a good thing you don't waste your time here. I should do the same. |

basilico: I believe that is a flight to avoid then. You cannot employ people base on skin color instead of performance and capability to start flying people to and fro. This is so unnecessary. Women does not like STEM it will be hard finding women who are interested and the best of the interested. Do women handle chaos better than men? Do they have more courage better than men? Can they pull the stick with a great force if the plane is diving. Unnecessary development |

donjazet:Right wingers? I don't think they are fanatical. We both know those who thrive on cancel culture, faux outrage, and racial politics. But there are several middle grounds. Both Democrats and Republicans (including Trump supporters, of course - some Independents) all stood up for Candace Owens when Democrat candidate, Liam O'Mara racially abused her by threatening her with a KKK hoodie. I love that one - everybody finding middle growns once in a while. Anyways, what do you make of the biden presidency so far? Biden... He's goofed on some issues. But he's done some things I like. Like going tough on Iran unlike Obama. Ironically, the Democrats criticized Trump for his tough stance on Iran too but are praising Biden for the same thing. The issues at the border with Mexico are still of concern and there are still several controversies. The media is deliberately downplaying these issues and AOC, who was playacting at the border during Trump's era, has suddenly forgotten where the border is. Biden has literally excused away China's treatment of the Muslim Ughurs. He's practically endorsed China's islamophobia and CNN, AOC, NYT and the likes who infamously slammed Trump with the Islamophobic tag are deliberately looking away. Still too early for a definite Biden scorecard. 1 Like |

DissTroy: I would say under Biden the left has become unhinged. Their ultimate goal is not very hard to decipher. Power at all costs. Their electoral reform bill is full of loopholes to let them rig. Their spending bills have a lot of $$$ for their pet projects ie climate change, clean fuels, abortion on demand, insane lockdowns due to covid, uninhibited immigration . Today Biden has 20k unaccompanied children whereas Trump had only 2600 and all media could talk about was children in cages that Obama built. Biden has also appointed leftists to key positions in the judicial and cabinet levels. Extreme leftists. He's planning to increase taxes to fund his infrastructure shovel ready jobs that Obama spectulariry failed in creating. And for pet projects too. He is just enacting Obama era policies , and I think he is a marionette with other players like Obama pulling the strings behind him. 2 Likes 3 Shares |

That leftists are now unhinged, the media is the propaganda arm of the democrats now so openly, gas prices are up because Joe Biden stopped a pipeline construction and wants to wean off oil to EV ( a practical impossibility for at least a century) . DissTroy: This post reeks of disingenuity. You are making non-issues seem like major issues relatively. I want to think that bidens relative success on the major coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent economic upturn will grant him some credence but you somehow skipped this to deflect and talk about china and iran or fucking_ Candace owens, whoever that is. How do those two issues affect americans right now? Yes, the border problem has been a problem for the new administration but if recent reports are anything to go by, it is now subsiding. I think biden has been okay so far. He campaigned on decency and compassion and that, he has shown. No name calling, no bullying,. Americans are learning how not to hate each other again. Hatred and disunity spreads when it comes from the very top. Biden has continuously called for americans to come together and help each other. This is basic stuff for leaders but after the last years of President Trump, it now seems like a very big deal. More of this please. 2 Likes |

donjazet: See? Here's one of the reasons why I stated Nairaland, like Facebook, is an echo chamber. You asked what I think of Biden so far even though you weren't open to dialogue but have a pre-conclusion. Iran and China aren't issues which concern Americans yet CNN and the media made a big deal out of Trump's spat with China? Iran doesn't matter to Americans yet throughout January 2020, CNN was focused on Trump instigating a world war with Iran and how it puts American assets in the Middle East at risk? Seems you folks abuse the luxury of more than 280 characters. That a major Democrat candidate threatened the most influential black female Republican with a KKK hoodie isn't an issue because it exposes the racism the Democrats accuse others of? An issue so big, the Democrats had to issue a public statement and the candidate was forced to drop out? You see why nairaland is an echo chamber? You don't keep abreast with issues as they develop in real time and are too busy repeating yourselves and lost in the cacophony and hate-fueled perspectives that you don't pause to see things from a wholesome view. You want to mention the Coronavirus vaccine which Biden endorsed which has been stopped in some countries because it's causing a rare blood-clotting? Are you arguing to learn, unlearn or relearn, or just to garner fleeting approvals from the less than 20 persons who visit this page at any given time? 4 Likes 1 Share |

DissTroy: Listen, I called on you because I've known you to be one of the few sane right-leaning yet objective analyst but you are certainly disappointing now with your obvious overwhelming bias. To your point, there are always lots of important issues happening around the world at all times. One can never keep abreast of all of them, that's why we rely on news and media institutions to filter them and give us the most important, pressing and urgent ones. For instance, Almost everyday, there are new elections held all around the globe in various countries, we can't keep abreast of them all so we rely on the news media to give us information about the most consequential ones. China and Iran have always been and Will always be a problem for the US, but I like to think that the covid pandemic, the economy, election reform and the immigration issue are the core issues in the mind of Americans right now not those two countries. Now I called your post disingenuous partly because you brought up Candace when I had asked about Biden. More so, that information about her is largely inconsequential because when we talk about racism in america. We know the party which the historically racist parts of the country align with. We know the party which has only 3 black representatives out of more than 250 and the one which has 54 black representatives out of that same relative number. Finally, I would like to know your thoughts on the election results narrative. I think this would be the ultimate yardstick to test your objectivity. Do you think the last election was free and fair as stated by all security agencies or do you think there was a widespread and coordinated election fraud as stated by trump which culminated on the January 6th chaos? 2 Likes |
