I know he had an injury that stopped his debut earlier in the season but still it feels weird that he’s yet to don the jersey as a senior, especially when almost all other academy graduates deemed fit for the first team have gotten their debuts.

Mejbri was unlucky to have an injury the time Amad and Shola had their debuts. I believe he would have debuted before Shola if he was fit. Since that period, the team hasn’t really been comfortably incharge of a match enough to give debuts to academy players.

Well, I have dropped a reply concerning their question...

Imagine someone asking me what is Liverpool's pattern/style of play...Anyone who is a football enthusiasts won't ask such questions. The thing is that most of them watch only Manchester United matches because if that's not the case, if you watched Dortmund when Klopp was their coach, you'd easily see that the current Liverpool are playing just the same way Dortmund played which is indicative of Klopp's approach.

Same thing with Pep when you watch Barcelona, Bayern and now City.

I have been impressed with Forson and Hansen. Hoogewerf has been quite good too but he is older than the rest so not as impressive. His mates are mainly playing Under-23.

The question about Madrid’s pattern of play is a trap Patrick should not have fallen for. No one can fault him for not knowing Madrid’s pattern of play because he obviously doesn’t watch all their games. Also, him not knowing Madrid’s pattern of play doesn’t mean he is wrong about Ole’s lack of a distinctive pattern.

Whether Ole has a pattern or not is another discourse entirely. I just think Patrick should have evaded the trap by immediately making it known that the question was irrelevant to the debate in the first place.

Which top team doesn't use midfield to control possession before?

When we play against top teams or high press teams we try to play out from the back where the DM and the wingers drop deep allowing the fullbacks to overlap.

Most times it has backfired because of broda Fred or Pogba giving the ball away in dangerous areas. And other times it works perfectly like below.


A team without a pattern will not score the kind of goal Rashford scored against Granada which is a carbon copy of the one both he and Lindelof combined to score earlier this season. We also scored many like that last season.

The only time I can agree we look clueless with our gameplan is when we have the lionshare of possession playing against teams that sit deep.

If you haven't notice how our full backs tend to go higher and support the attacks with the wingers(inside forwards), tucking into the center most times and rotating positions.

If you haven't noticed that Maguire tends to join the midfield with lindelof left as the sole defender, and the double pivot rotating who will join the attack and who stays to support the defence.

If you haven't noticed how our forwards(rashford in particular) tries to beat the defensive line( when it is high) with an early run expecting a pass with his team mates.

If you haven't noticed that Bruno becomes a second striker when the opposition play a low block and a deep midfielder when it becomes too crowded up there( opposition defense)

If you haven't noticed how quick our players try to attack the opponents once they loose possession in a bad position or close to the half way line.
