In 2015, there was a day I was returning from work around 5pm inside a kabukabu public transport (golf 3). Was on earpiece busy surfing facebook news feed not knowing we had reached a military checkpoint and I still had my earpiece on with one phyno hit song on, giving me joy.

Was still busy with my phone not knowing that a soldier was telling me to roll down my glass, the next thing the man sitting close to me gave me a light touch while pointing to the car window. The soldier told me to come down then instructed the driver to go and leave me with them, he obeyed and drove off.

I still have the marks and scars from koboko he used on me till date, after doing frog jump muscle pool almost killed me the following few days.

I was slapped in 2015. It was in Auchi during my NYSC days..I went to back to withdraw, I joined the ATM Queue, one guy just came from behind to withdraw, I questioned him why he's jumping the queue, next thing I heard is a slap on my head, his colleague came from behind too to give me a slap. I was embarrassed that day..Both of them weren't on uniform..It is well
jumping the queue is wrong but if the person in the front did not complain, what's now your own?when them give you slap,u no mind your business?itk

Share your good experience with soldiers too. When we speak of bad, let us remember to speak of good too.

Bullshit is when you say the thread is for the bad experience alone or are you allergic to good experiences?

The day a soldier raises his hands to beat a civilian is the day he losses respect.

...the USA case you have just mentioned, can you guys be so civil like that in Nigeria? Can you go as far as not hurting the officers but rather opt for a legal redress??
it is an offence to fight an officer in uniform as much as it is an offence for an officer in uniform to violate and harass civilians.

We all have experiences!

Why were you tortured, slapped or beaten to a pulp?

Crime?

Answering a call by their checkpoints?

Dating sb they want?

Power pass power?

Mine: when I went for the training, a female soldier met me and said “kai, my side crush.. kai, you dey do as if you no dey hear me baa..you come here to do fine boy shey? For my hand you go buy job tire as I don see say you go turn white fowl.“

I stood at ease in submission.

I waited for a while before moving so she wouldn't say I was disrespectful.

I moved when she threw her first leg to move.

Na so she ordered me to come back.

She begin chawwoos me dey yarn me say so I no know wetin I suppose talk before I move.

I was like abi is it yes or no I'll say or what. If I said yes now, she'll think I responded to her question that I didn't know what to say. If I said no, she'd still think it's the no-response to this question...with her forgettiing the discussion we earlier had had no question.

Mehn. I come say “permission to carry on, ma.” She replied: “as what na? Sweetheart, you don enter my parade.”

Nna eh. (But sha, later later, the lady was really into me sha) wink

Na so she call her regular say she caught me staring at her hips, say I come dey chyke am.

OMG!

I no fit talk.

I wan cry.

Baba say I don buy job.

Rest is history.

Please share your experiences.
I de suspect you

Mine was some years ago when my car alternator developed fault one late night when I was heading home after hanging out with 1 of my guys, we ended spending the night in the car cos the battery eventually ran down.
As a very shap badguy grin early in the morning I called one fine babe I was screwing then 2 bring me some cash quick so I cud fix d issue since it wasn't a major problem. Na so she fly bike come b4 7.30am. I was happy to see her wen she arrived (she was looking sweeeet) and enveloped her in a bear hug. I no kno say 1 bad belle soldier dey d side dey eye d girl cos it was about a 20 metres from a check point. Na so d soldier come call me say make a run come. Him come dey para say who me I tink say I b. He now ordered me 2sit on the ground by the roadside. I come dey vex 4 my mind say wetin I do na, but I no fit shout, D kind eye d other 4 soldiers wey dey d checkpoint dey carry look me ehn, my friend was standing on the other side of the road.
Chai!!! C d girl stand by my side dey look everything wey dey happen. Na so I frown face and sat on my hands. I know say if I shout dem go carry me shine, mess me up. The yeye green boy come call de girl dey try chyk her. As I sat watching I cud c she was also frowning 4d guy and giving dem attitude. After speaking with her for a short while I now heard 1 of the other soldiers say in hausa - ah, leave dis girl and this guy o, person wey carry her own money come meet d guy early mormor like dis, see as she dey do sef, jus leave her abeg. D soldier was now feeling 1 kind because she did not give him face and people were now beginning to stare. D bastard now said I should stand up and was forming friendly. The babe now came and hugged me and we crossed the road to where my friend was standing. We now gisted for a few minutes, she handed me the money and left. After she left my friend nor gree my ear rest, he was saying wat did I do to the girl that she's happily putting her life at risk for me, we replaced the alternator and happily left the place.

No lie here...

Went to drink at a spot in nyanya...seated with a friend when two young soldiers wearing combat camour trouser from nowhere came in and asked us to leave our table so they could sit there...I ignored him and called d manager/attendant for Xtra bottles...it pissed them off one immediately removed his belt and flogged my friend first, then use d hook of d army belt to hit my head.

I lost it and gave him a blow straight to his face then d whole place scattered with fight as my friend immediately attacked d 2nd one who was trying to take out a jack knife...na so we start fight o they started making calls calling their colleague refusing us to leave.

NB- My dad is a retired general so i wasn't afraid if they took us to d barracks. Na so when we reached Abacha barracks asokoro I saw a lieutenant colonel I knew and approached him to identify myself...na so those bootrags sleep for guardroom that night.

The end

I love this one

Lovely we from the creeks have many stories to tell, I will tell the mildest one

I was driving at a t junction heavy traffic they were blaring siren I cleared to the side of the road for them to pass instead of passing jejely they used koboko and sticks to break my wind screen and side mirror but god pass them

During NySc one just saw me and for no reason disliked me for being "fresh" as in for looking butty so he wanted to deal with me he seized my cap didn't give it to me till the next day then came to my block looking for people without "head dress" or nysc cap I hid under the bed, he was inspecting each corper one after the other, if you no get cap you collect better punishment. He didn't see me till I left camp I kept dodging him

I know others have more brutal experiences, but I decided to Shanire these to show you how petty these "SOLDIERS" can be.

I was traveling to Abuja from Lagos, en-route Okene expressway; we were stopped by a Soldier. He scanned through the bus and asked for my name. I told him... He said what did I say? Immediately, I brought out my ID card and showed it to him then he said driver carry on.

In my thoughts, I was like why did he single me out? Was it because I was on a hoodie in the night? Ffs I look too fresh to be a criminal (lol). The other passengers (GIG) were like omo see the importance of an Identity card o, na God save this bros. I keep asking myself this question till today; what if I had forgotten to travel with my identity card or what if I just couldn't provide it? What would have happened to me that night? It freaks me out.

It's not about being respectful, just pray you don't come across power drunk soldiers.

They can even beat you up by just staring at them. The way most of them behave it's obvious they joined the military to intimidate civilians.
