During the lock down last year, this babe whom was an acquaintance, asked me to lend her 10k to take delivery of goods she ordered, for resell, I didn't know how long we would be in lockdown, so I told her I won't be able to give that 10k that I will give her 5k, cos I have this policy, I don't borrow money from people no matter how stranded I am, I always make plans for every of my tasks or activity, if I don't have enough money to do it, I won't do it, in this regard I don't give out money I am not ready to forget

So I gave her the 5k, she said she will pay back in seven days time, I personally added extra three days for her, the days came and gone, this girl didn't say piim, I didn't ask too

When I eventually asked for my money, she claimed they delivered inferior goods to her, so she didn't sell enough to refund me that I should give her more time, after two months I asked again, she said her bank has issues and all that, she can't make withdrawals or so transfer, all manners of annoying stories, I no to like stress, naao I just zone my mind from that money, even when I was broke and I didn't have enough to even fill my gas, I didn't ask this girl for my money, cos I promised my self I won't anymore, people are funny and deciteful embarassed

At that point I swore I won't lend people money again, but later I realised that will be a garage decision,I returned to my policy of not lending what i can't close my eyes and forget about, and I won't ever borrow money I cant pay back the next day, i hate debts

True talk.
There's this girl I liked and based on the fact that i felt some sort of chemistry with her and I thought she was into me, I asked her out and she told me that she wasn't ready for a relationship (I just thought she was playing hard to get) , but sometimes later she called me and told me to loan her some money , I got cautious and told her I'd loan her half of it (although I saw it more like a gift under the pretense that it was a loan), I used that opportunity to tell her about my feelings for her once more but she kept on insisting that she wasn't interested in a relationship, that made me change my mind about gifting her the money (since I never told her it was a gift but still a loan).... I called her severally to pay me back but she has been posting me.

Naija girls matter tire me, you don't want to date a guy but you feel entitled to his money....
Now I truly understand why Mosdii always says "Naija girls are useless, all of them..."

Okay so this guy called me up begging me to pls lend him money , he was a close friend so I decided to help him out , I gave him the 50k he requested and he promised to pay back month end..

Normally I would have dashed him the whole money but at the time I borrowed him I was broke and I borrowed to save him and also as a way to keep me from spending the money because that was like my last card ..

Month end reach and this guy did not call or text , after a week I called him and he told me to forget the money now , " u be big boy now "... I told him I'm broke and the money is my last hope , next tin I know this guy hangs up on me..

I was mad ehn.. I called him again and he didn't pick , he later blocked my line on phone and WhatsApp ... I was pissed but I remain calm , he taught me a bitter lesson.... But God will have it ,after about 3 months he did a business deal with a friend of mine ,..

The guy then gave me his own share cos his number was not going through at that time , so the guy gave me the cash to pass it to him , the cash was 120k.

An experience with a debtor can almost kill you with tension.
You call the person on phone but he will not pick your call. He picks when you use another number. And then he apologizes. You tell him you are coming to collect your money as promised. He replies you quickly that he is not at home. And begin to shout HELLO!, HELLO, HELLO! I cannot hear you o. HELLO! HELLO. Meanwhile you begin to scream frantically in despair that he must not hang up that phone that you can hear him. But alas he hung up and switched it off immediately.

You decided to go to his house and knock at the door. His children come out and say ''My Daddy say I should tell you that he is not at home". embarassed

You call him the next day and again he apologizes that network over there the other time was bad and phone battery was low. He now says send your account number, I will send the money now. You send your account number then you wait, but no alert. You call him repeatedly and everyday he keeps saying he will send it tomorrow.
When you bust up on him on phone, he concludes by shouting HELLO! HELLO! HELLO and quickly says I can't hear you over there o and switches off the phone.
It's then you realize that this his attitude is affecting your mental and physical health. angry

I just have to let go to avoid having BP at a tender age

It takes the grace of God to recover your debt in this country, though there are few exceptions

never lend money to somebody if you can't afford to lose that money.

If you need your sanity intact my brother respect yourself and stay away from lending people money. You can grow old faster and run mad if care isn't taken. One particular one owed me over 150k for a whole two years. I had to threaten him with EFCC before he paid me N75k. I threaten with police he paid me N20k. After like 1 yr and 10months I threatened to write to his company that he is unfit for the position he currently occupies then he paid me 45k. the remaining 10k I don leave am for am. U see lending people money I can never try it again. If u need your peace of mind whenever they come just tell them to go to the bank that u don't have money or tell them u have a major project u are handling
One passed by my office saying he was stranded and needed little cash. This was the period paylater started operation. I directed him to paylater and he got the 10k. When it was time to pay back the debt, he stopped by my office to ask how to do that, blaming me for putting him in debt of 11500. Money he could have used for other thing him de take pay igbese! Howww??
Another close paddy just last week applied for 400k on cabon app. They gave him the offer but money did not come. Niggar said I should check the app, they offered me 300k. No talk I no hear to take the money give am as a friend that he will be making the payments on the loan. Omo, na my paddy. I almost did it untill wify that over heard warned me back to my senses say you no de watch judge Judy? Omo I japa. Now my paddy de vex with me.

So I borrowed this girl 10k since January, she never pay me back and she dey para for me on top my money... the only mistake I made was that I didn’t asked for when she will be returning it, she just said I will return it soon.... her soon never reach ooo sad sad sad

And she was in need of the money then
But now I learnt my lesson,,, if you wanna have enemy borrow a Nigerian money cry cry cry cry cry
Your safest bet is to direct them to loan companies.
I you have to give the loan protect yourself by making them give a postdated cheque. If he fails, that one na criminal matter. As in bounced cheque.

Your story is similar to mine. 50K too. Last year in the middle of corona.

Cos he has always borrowed and returned it, I didn't suspect anything...

I had just 100k left in my account split it into two. I had no hope of where the next money would come from. He promised end of the month or first week of April.

Since then till now, I have not gotten my money.

On top of that, he blocked me and insulted my parents, said he will exhumed them from grave and deal with them.

In his mind, I can't do anything cos he thinks I am bluffing. Until when I will smoke him out from his hiding, he will meet me face to face and I will to whatever comes to mind that day.

I told him, I don't do phone or internet threat like he does. I requested for his new address if he knows he is a man but he has not given it.

He is holding on to an image of my gentility.. I go shock am.

I'm young guy struggling to see ends meet. That was how this family man (laundry man) came begging for urgent 3k to pay back in few days. Of course I gave him. He has never asked me for anything before.
Without paying the first, he came again for another urgent 3k. I still give him since business wasn't as usual, even though I was reluctant. 2 days later he came again like magic for another urgent 3k.. I told him I don't have.
And that was 8months ago and counting.
Stories everyday.

I learnt my lesson in the hard way. Being a good guy with a kind heart, I lost about #100k in the name of borrowing people money. I borrowed someone #20k during his NYSC. He promised to pay me back as soon as he starts receiving his allowance but to my surprised he didn't pay sisi till he finished the service year. I was able to get back change and let go of the rest. Another one was a friend of mine. He was so disturbed and told me how badly he needed the money. When I lend him, he almost knelt down and promised he will pay back as soon as possible. You won't believe I didn't see his break light till date. I lost about #60k in 2016 to different persons. I used to think that everyone is like myself. My mind is not at rest when I own debt until I paid back. I call tire that year ontop my own money oo. Last, last I just vex dash the money out. But since then, I don wise. Thank God for the lesson they thought me till today.

Most of my debtors are alcoholics like me, so whenever I want my money back, I invite them to a popular tavern in town. we drink and get merry, and tell them to use the money they are owing me to settle the bills. I use this approach for hardened debtors.
