Sure I know the VO has the final decision. Just want to know if it’s best applying for visa together with my kids based on people’s past application Lagbaja88: |

Good afternoon everyone. I got accepted to a University a week ago and I'm very excited but a bit worried about the visa application process. I am writing IELTS this week in order to apply for the Nigerian Students Express program. However, I'm facing a LOT of issues with it. It states that i need 30k CAD in my account. I definitely haven't had that amount constantly for the past 6 months. It's possible to get that amount in order to show them, but will it still be valid if it hasn't been in the account for six months? Or should I just forget about it and use the regular route? Speaking of the regular route, the Canadian immigration website states that it will take approximately 19 weeks to process my study permit. That is time that I do not have, because classes begin in September and I need to travel before then because of the whole quarantine thing. I know it might be a long shot, but nothing is impossible. Can anyone offer any words of encouragement or has anyone received their permit in a shorter amount of time? I'm trying really hard not to panic and just to trust that God can do the impossible. Looking forward to a response. Thank you! |

childgodly: You really need to tidy up the POF aspect of your application whether you are applying though the NSE route or not. At the least you should be able to demonstrate that you've always had 10k CAD in your account in the last 6months after paying your school fees. (Assuming you are opting for the normal route). That said, some get their visa way before the 19weeks. It's all about grace. You can start your application now for the fall of 2021. Best of luck. |

Kkddyit: Thank you so much for your reply. For the regular route will I still be required to write IELTS? Also, are you saying that I shouldn't bother with NSE if I cannot provide the 30k? Starting my application right away. Thank you. |

Teeprecious: She will be issued a study permit at the border. The primary application is a visiting visa. Study permit, work permits are all determined based on the period of stay. You mum will also be okay. Doesn't have to be your husband. Any immediate family member will be fine. 1 Like |

TennieYF: I think these things are done on a case by case basis. I have a friend here whose husband's SOWP took about a month. And another who has been waiting since January . . . I really don't know. But, I think it helps if your children are really young. |

childgodly: IELTS is not compulsory for the regular route. Please start the application right away and also give some thought to the aspect of home ties. Put the rest in God's hand. 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Kkddyit: 4:13pm On Apr 11, 2021 |
tumababa: Pension fits more as home tie than POF. As per regulation, only 25% of the fund is accessible before the statutory age of 50years. And you must be out of job for about 3months. The VO is aware that pension funds may not be readily available for you when needed. And if you are pointing to your pension fund to me as a VO, it's somewhat weakens your home ties. 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Kkddyit: 5:18pm On Apr 11, 2021 |
tumababa: Why not...you can use it as home tie. Most especially if the balance is substantially reasonable. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by TennieYF: 5:30pm On Apr 11, 2021 |
TennieYF: Please can someone help answer this, liberally want to know, because I was considering using NSE option, presently I have 2m in my account, but my sponsor is going to transfer 10m to me with a letter stating what it is for. So is it that I won't be able to use NSE route this way? |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by olasubomy: 6:11pm On Apr 11, 2021 |
LadyIE: Having a family like that ( husband and kids) and applying alone strengthens your home tie because the VO would know there is a high tendency of you coming back home after your studies as you cannot abandon your family. Although, it can also be seamless if your children are still very tender or in their kindergarten age and so young that they always need to be around their mum. This will now depend on how you are able to convince the VO showing sufficient financial documentary proof that you can take good care of them and won't be any burden to the Government of Canada. This all depends on how you can draft your SOP to look convincing and appealing to the emotions of the visa officer. Although it might be a different ball game if your children are grown-ups, that does not mean one cant still get approval but depends on how you are able to package your application or you may want to leave them behind with your husband so that serves as your home tie and they join you later in Canada. You cannot really base your decision on the past applicants because final verdicts on applications are on a case-by-case basis. I wish you the best as you make your decision. |

pls I will like to know if I can I apply through NSE with overall ielt band 6.0
reading 5.5
listening 7.5
speaking 6.0
writing 6.0 |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Kkddyit: 6:28pm On Apr 11, 2021 |
tumababa: No. What I meant is if you are pointing to your pension is POF to the VO, is somehow reduces your home tie. But you can use same as home tie. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by TennieYF: 6:29pm On Apr 11, 2021 |
Please for the IMM1294 form I need a clarification. There is a part that asked for cost of my studies, Tuition, room and board and funds available for my stay. My course is a 2 years course , am I supposed to fill the cost of my studies for 1 year since POF is meant to show one year tuition or should I put the cost of the studies for 2 years? Also for duration of expected study, do I put 2 year or 4 years as my admission letter only gives an estimate that it takes 2-4 years to complete the course. |
