Joe Aribo is determined to score on a regular basis for Rangers following his stunning strike in Sunday’s 2-1 home win against Hibernian, reports Completesports.com. The Nigeria international put Rangers ahead on 19 minutes with a fine finish after he was set up by Kemar Roofe. The midfielder last scored for Steven Gerrard’s side against Dundee United in February. “I want to keep scoring goals in every single game I play so I’m happy for myself that I could get the opening goal for the team,”Aribo told the club website. ” It is nice finishing, I just watched it from Sky and I took my time to finish it.” The 24-year-old has scored eight goals in 28 league appearances for Rangers this season. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: Called The "GoalsFather" and Ye-KING for great reasons. Rashidi Yekini.... Ahhhh... Clips of him remain as legendary as they come. I will post some here for Flashback sake even though it's still Monday and not Throwback Thursday or Flashback Friday. This is HIM doing it against Real Madrid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XLtCe3_--M This is HIM vs Zambia at the Afcon Final '94. Check out AGAIN his thunder of a freekick at 1:55. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaAG2JbT9QI This is HIM in different shades doing his thing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I_stOkYuxw Yekini clips are clips I feed myself with whenever I feel the inspiration around what Nigeria is currently witnessing concerning the League of Extraordinary Hitmen. His Power, his speed, his strides, his technique, his accuracy, his fearlessness, His aerial command, etc...The MOST COMPLETE STRIKER OF HIS TIME. Yekini is the man we want our Number 1 Striker, Victor Osimhen to surpass at all levels. There's Weah too, Eto'o fils and Drogba. Striker legends we want our forwards to match or even surpass. Yekini belongs to this Class of Striking Greats plus na him be their Papa. Most North African English speaking fans I encounter in football never fail to make mention of Yekini's greatness from the Golden Generation of Nigerian football in the 90s. That's how much his Greatness still speaks to this day. Yekini, the greatest striker Nigeria have ever had and one of the best Africa ever produced and the world ever saw. The fires and hunger for greatness in Yekini seen those days by "my ancestors" live in his reign as the Super Eagles' Undisputed Number 9 and which I have been privileged to see via clips and full videos of Yekini's times as a World Class Super Striker...... I gotta say I see same in the lad Victor Osimhen. And it's no coincidence Osimhen and the other strikers making their marks like Onuachu, Iheanacho, Simy, Moffi, SADIQ, etc belong to the new Generation that could become Nigeria's Next(Second) Golden Generation making good reference to the First and the Only Golden Generation we have seen so far in Naija football. I was a new born baby during our First Golden Generation in the 90s. But now, I am a young adult and witnessing the rise of our Second/Next Golden Generation. So shall it be... 13 Likes 2 Shares

BascoVanVeli: So you don't have any scouting report or any additional information on him apart from the fact that he was signed by Dakkada?. I just want to know what makes his signing newsworthy.....or do you intend to post news of every single Deeck, Tom and Harry that signs for any team in Nigeria? |

Portuguese league like charlesemeka rightly noted was one of the top leagues in europe during that era. english football wasn't as dominant as they are now. Italy was were the big boys went to play with germany, france and spain also accounting for the rest of the best talent. What Yekini and Owobukiri achieved then would be like Moffi scoring 20 goals in the french league. Apart from the Porto's and Benfica's Sporting Lisbon was also good. Infact Emmanuel Amunike joined Barcelona straight from Lisbon during that decade. andrewbaba44: 3 Likes |

Curtisaxel10: No ooo I should have even added his report card and birth certificate put So u are saying an U17 player being signed by a club in the top division of the country is not news worthy I have seen countless of young players posted on here without a scouting report or anything, just that they have been signed by so and so club. So what is your real issue with the post I made? |

TheSuperNerd: I thought that first goal was an Onuachu assist. We tend to overlook his assists and involvements in other goals scored by his team mates, for the simple reason that he scores with reckless abandon |

IDENNAA:The Mikel Agu you prefer is a bench warmer who has neither scored a goal nor provided a single assist this season. Though he's had an injury, he's had enough time to pick up since early February. Aribo who you don't like, has had a similar injury and picked back form very quickly. In terms on national team impact, Mikel Agu has not had any impact whatsoever in the national team. Aribo on the other hand stamped his place with two consecutive goals for Nigeria. His only bad game was the Sierra Leone window. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

[sub][/sub] TheSuperNerd: Watching those Yekini clips just gave me goosebumps. Yekini was a player that once he got the ball near or within the 18yards box you would almost be sure something was about to happen. He would hit the ball with so much power that most times it would either be a net tearing goal, the keeper prevents the goal with a fantastic save or the ball hits the bar. Majorly from 1988 to 1994 he was a defenders and goalkeepers nightmare. I watched one of his documtaries shortly after his death and knelt down to shed tears. And my wife was like....."was he your uncle or family member, why being so emotional?". I just told her "you will not understand". Yekini brought Joy to all Nigerians back then. We really lost a Gem. Osimhen, I am not sure I would want to compare him with Yekini yet. 5 Likes |

A shame they didn't give it as an assist. But that's an assist in my book. Onuachu is obviously one of the most influential players in all of Genk's attacking plays this season. Seen enough of his other games and then some others via highlights to reach this conclusion. ChrisKels: 2 Likes 1 Share |

No Dad. Don't get it twisted. This is not an Osimhen-Yekini comparison. It is only a post testifying to the Ultimate Greatness of the Goals Lord and the most complete striker of the 90s, Yekini and speaking of a young lad who could go on to rekindle such glorious moments in the National team colours in the same attacking role. Also made reference to the "Fire" and "Fearlessness" present in both Strikers. The Legend and the Lad. Osimhen, The Lad, is still growing. So no comparisons at all. Meanwhile... I didn't enjoy the huge privilege to see Prime Yekini live. But I am thankful for Video technology. Lol. What a player. What a legend. The True Super Striker. Icon4s: 1 Like 1 Share |
