andrewbaba44:Nigeria has shown via friendlies that they can beat average European countries. But we only meet one average country during the world cup unless something changes with our rankings. Modified: Our golden key is winning the 2022 afcon. If we do so, our rankings will rise dramatically and we might be top in Africa. Now, given that the time between the AFCON and the World Cup is short, nothing much might change and we could see ourselves in Pot 2, assuming we've qualified. Now that's a head start to the World Cup. 2 Likes |

andrewbaba44:Ok, let's say, we drew in friendlies and beat two average European countries in our last two outings. We just need to win AFCON first. It will help our rankings. |

JohnBullMySon: Beat who na? Ukraine? Czech? Serbia? Cos those were our last meetings with European teams. The last European team we beat was Iceland, and they're dropping everyday in the rankings. Aside them and Poland, we got beat every other time except against Ukraine. |

IDENNAA: Agu that I watched against Algeria? That guy deserves to be flogged mercilessly for his performance. Trying to dribble and impress as a DM when he should be humping the ball away to attackers. Algeria almost snatched the ball away from him once, which would have led to their second goal. It is blasphemy to compare Agu and Aribo. I even prefer Onyeka a million times over Agu. 3 Likes 1 Share |

andrewbaba44: To me even winning the afcon won't be an easy feat. We have to overcome the likes of Senegal, civ, ghana, Egypt, Algeria, morocco, Tunisia and even Mali to achieve that The above mention teams hv good players littered all over top leagues in Europe like us so we shouldn't expect such achievement to be an easy one as many here think We need to set pride and past glory aside and embrace facts n reality I am not saying we aren't good enough to win the trophy next year but it won't be a walk in the park 1 Like |

andrewbaba44: Left to me, I strongly believe that we have what it takes to win the AFCON and go as far as quarter finals at the world cup.. The problem is the coaching.. It's the same problem a lot of African teams always have.. Poor coaching.. I'm not saying Rohr should go, but if he can improve on the tactical aspect of his coaching,at least to be on level with his man management skills, it would be a huge step up for the team.. |

charlesemeka85: No Emmy you ain't totally right though you made good points. Egypt, Ghana and Tunisia do not have good players scattered all over Europe, but you were right to have mentioned Ghana as a threat because they are our perennial rivals. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by charlesemeka85(m): 7:00pm On Apr 12, 2021 |
ChrisKels:i mentioned Egypt and Tunisia because when it comes to African they re power houses that no team should undermine The Tunisian hv less quality player wise but boast of compactness and understanding which hv made them one of the most underrated but feared teams from the northern part of the continent while half of the Egyptian team is from AL ahly which gives them the nod ahead of others with regards to understanding and bonding |

charlesemeka85: Not arguing the fact that they seem to have compact teams, reason I said you made good points regardless, but below is the point or notion I wanted to correct. The above mention teams hv good players littered all over top leagues in Europe like us so we shouldn't expect such achievement to be an easy one as many here think |

civ in no distance time may take over African football with he caliber of players they have in their possession currently, same as the Senegal n morocco Na this teams I go see finish dey vex for pple wey dey against the nff n Rohr going after foreign born players to switch to us. We must not have them all but I am of full support of getting those who will add more quality to what we have currently |
