charlesemeka85: They still have the same problem as us..That is poor coaching.. Senegal, Ivory coast and Morocco squad on paper can best that of a lot of European and South American countries and even all of Asia and north America.. But when they meet on the pitch,it's a different game altogether 1 Like |

chrisooblog: Would you say that Ghana that almost reached semifinal in 2010 had so much depth? It's the mentality of the team. The Ghanaian team is the team that won u20 that year and yet we're not called young team as our coach would. |

charlesemeka85: My point exactly.. See their current coach self.. He has spent majority of his career as assistant to Herve Renard.. They later upgraded him to head coach.. His CV is just there...nothing enticing.. Reason am na... If they sack him later, they might just appoint another low budget oyinbo coach.. IMO, African countries really need to invest in coaching of their ex players if they can't put effort in improving their local players.. Most of these foreign coaches don't have the same passion to win and improve the national team they coach, unless they have some kind of strong attachment to the country.. 1 Like |

mank1234: We are so poor in the midfield to achieve that fit as Ghana did in 2010. If we had a power playing enforcer like Bennacer to partner Ndidi, with a good AM, then we can be looking at pushing teams. We have the forwards but our midfield and defense are bad 1 Like |

but who did Ghana beat to get to the quarters? Serbia which could have easily finished as a draw if not for the serbian defender that had a brain fart. USA an ok team but not so fearsome. Ghana had some decent players that year so they made their advantage count. Mentality yes is important but backing it up with quality will give you a fighting chance. mank1234: 1 Like |

ChrisKels:lack of an enforcer is the biggest problem we have currently in the present super eagles team. Aribo have not really done that job well even of late I will like to see him deployed as a 10 because of his eye for goal and dribling ability If can lay our hands on an energic enforcer as ac Milan Kessie or bennacer we are good to good Even the incoming ejaria to me he is featherweight for the rigors of that position I just can't wait for one to erupt from no where |

TheSuperNerd: Very nice clip. Neat football and brilliant combinations on the wings and around the penalty area to unlock the defence. Genk plays a similar brand to Dortmund and I can see why the links for Onuachu. He had a really good game and I hope he keeps impressing. 1 Like 1 Share |

There are still quality players in the Nigerian league that can represent the country at the AFCON or the World Cup and hold their own against formidable opposition. Whether you like it or not, guys here that are passionate about the local league will still continue to highlight the potentials of promising players worthy of call-ups. If you are well grounded in the history of tournaments like the World Cup or AFCON, you should know that carting home the trophy takes much more than assembling a star-studded squad. Oftentimes people tend to appreciate the quality in a team after they must have won the trophy. Tell me who ever tipped Italy to win the 2006 world cup or Cameroon to win the 2017 AFCON? When Stephen Keshi announced his squad for the 2013 AFCON with some local players and a handful of unheralded foreign-based players in the list, was he not totally written off? I'm sorry if you do not want to entertain the idea of having an Anayo Iwuala in the team for whatever reason best known to you, but I like the quality and confidence he exuded during his brief adventure on the pitch and I believe most people here want to see more of him in the national team. charlesemeka85: 3 Likes 2 Shares |

To erupt from nowhere. I like the sound of that. Believe me when I tell you that that missing piece could turn out to be Kelechi Nwakali at the end of the day. He matches the description we seek beside Ndidi. I am even watching him now alongside watching Akpoguma and Nwakali has been balling good as usual. Bennacer is not even physically imposing but he does the Job for Algeria with a sweet combo of sleek composure and technique. Nwakali can bring same with time. Just give it time. The more he lad does well and probably gets to play in La Liga again if Huesca miraculously survives and finally offer him a Starting shirt based on his commanding showings in La Liga Smartbank right now, then I think it's only gonna be a matter of time before we see an Nwakali-Ndidi combo in midfield. Time will tell. For now, we wait and hope. charlesemeka85: 6 Likes 3 Shares |

Your hate blinds you to what Nwakali has now become. Oga... He plays that role comfortably for Alcocorn even now. I am watching him even right now. So what are you saying? Charles... Free your mind of your hate for the lad which we all know hasn't suddenly disappeared and see things analytically in the here and now. charlesemeka85: 2 Likes |
