There’s a Chinese company that makes large sizes used for internal partitions here and I’ve known them since 2014. There are other folks in the uPVC market that do this type of windows here.

My design drawings have two 6 meters openings for bi-fold doors. I bought a truck before the lockdown to start loading stuff I wish to import and bi-fold doors are included.

Management of Dangote Cement Plc has said yesterday that the price of its product per bag from the factory was between N2,450 in Obajana and Gboko, and N2,510 in Ibese, inclusive of VAT.

The clarification came against the backdrop recent insinuations that the company sells cement in Nigeria at significantly higher prices relative to other countries, particularly Ghana and Zambia.

Dangote’s Group Executive Director, Strategy, Portfolio Development & Capital Projects, Devakumar Edwin, who gave the clarification at an interface with journalists in Lagos, revealed that while a bag of cement sells for an equivalent of $5.1, including VAT in Nigeria, it sells for $7.2 in Ghana and $5.95 in Zambia ex-factory, inclusive of all taxes.

In the contemporary world, we’re using these not so new concepts to create works that wildly blend ancient and modern.

I had the angled wall in my latest design but we had to change to something different based on clients preference.

The wall can be made with brick/block/concrete and you can use any materials (tiles, fiber cement board, concrete, wood, etc) to clad it.

The same thing I’ve been sharing here. I live about 25 plots always from Sagamu plant and I knew the actual price of these stuffs is not more than 2450.

I shared that the company is selling directly to govt at 2450 but retailers determine the price the general public buy.

The major issue is that the demand is higher than the available supply.

There are some measurement which are global standard.
Nothing you can do about about it.

If you go far lesser or more higher than that you will not be comfortable with the result.

Example
-door height
-room height
-electrical switch height
-shower height
- water closet height
They are many like that

In construction, designs are done at best (minimum) acceptable standards so that the drawings can pass approval by the relevant authorities. But when in the field nothing stops the resident site engineer to make an improvement on actual site work which is based on certain factors. You can bring it to the attention of your client and update the design plan.

It's best you improve on site work(if need be) rather than saying you're following the design plan as given.........if there is a failure you'll definitely eat the blame.

So be it you want to use customized 255*500 or 100*450....just ensure its structurally suitable for the intended purpose.

Just like The Reserve by NextHome. Double-lapping doesn’t guarantee it might not leak though if you’re building in an area with lots of torrential rain, fewer tall buildings to act as wind breaker and in area where the direction wind force is unpredictable.

I knew it was a recent topic of discussion with us here.

My supplier had clued me in that the issues were caused by association of distributors.

If only we could buy directly from the company at their outlets.

What stops Dangote from sanctioning distributors who sell at outrageous prices. Cement no suppose pass 2600. The margin between the company price and market price is caused by someone and Dangote needs to find out where and who

Yes we had to do a remedial work when the first tenant parked in few weeks after construction. Maybe 10 weeks or so. I can’t remember.

There was a very strong torrential rain that fell the fence and the tenant discovered water in some part of the middle flats.

We realized it was caused by uplift. It was fixed and ever since I’ve not heard much of it.

The rain pull off many roofs in the area including the back fence.

The fix

We got some sheets (Pic 3) to overlap the sheets in the middle flat where the leak was experienced and that fixed the issue.

All said and done, no how wey cement go sell below N3000 after retailers factor in transportation/logistics cost and profit margin.

So despite the clarification, it is still true that Dangote cement could be cheaper in Ghana and Zambia at the point of sale to the public if the countries have better logistics infrastructure and lower cost of doing business.

So no be retailers be the problem. Na Bubu and CBN Governor be the wahala. These two people dey sleep. Somebody should please wake them up.

I was actually talking about that design on the wall that looks like unplastered blocks. But they actually look and feel glossy to touch. I just know that they are not tiles.
