Hello nairaland.

Please I need advice. I want to get an apartment after my NYSC but I want a comfortable place to stay.

I don't want to stay in a face me I face you apartment (one room apartment) where I have to fetch water , share kitchen and toilets etc or have issues with electricity because a neighbor is owing....like that.

At the Same time I am young I need to save and invest so I need to know how much is too much for rent in Lagos because houses in Lagos are so expensive.

Some Experts are saying rent and house related expenses should not be more than 30% of your gross which is about N30k for someone earning 100k per month but they are not Nigerians so I don't just want to follow them

What advice will you guys give me

Go for mini flat for peace of mind critical to life building. 300/400k will fix this

Your annual house rent must never exceed 30/35% your annual earnings. Always stick with this principle.
