Yea, you are very much right about Alex Ferguson but that shouldn't take away anything from Mourinho.

He did it with Porto and to show the world that it wasn't just a fluke, he did it with Inter Milan. That's greatness.

I just feel that he started losing it as he became older and also became less ruthless.

The issue for me is this: As far as I am concerned Hudson must play, Pulisic must play, Werner must play, Mount must play.

343 does not have the same problem as 4 at the back. When you attack with fullbacks playing 4 at back, you leave only 2 men at the back to deal with counters. You dont have that problem playing 3 at the back, which is why Conte played an out an out winger, and a slow and defensively suspect fullback in the WB positions when we won the league.

Chilwell would do a job at LWB of course, but I would have preferred to play Puli there to use his ball carrying skills

Our back 3 picks itself imo - Rudger, Chris, Azpi.

I like the mount, Kova, Kante midfield tbh, but the vulnerabilities in defence would make it difficult to play 433, and the 352 would be too narrow for the strikers we have - Werner dey shake under close pressure, and Giroud no get pace to run the channels.

With Kovacic expected to be fit for the tie, Pulisic doesn't need to fall deep to collect the ball and carry it like he did in our last match. So those runs for tap ins may be utilised as you opined.

Sincerely if our players are fit, we can knock them out, like you said they are open in defence. Raumdeuter's best African player ever, Salah must be blamed for messing up those chances he got against them in Anfield.

ceding the midfield is like ceding the tie, honestly. That kroos, casemiro and modric will just run us rugged. If we can hold that midfield, we don win. Madrid defense and attack is in that midfield.

We don't need Asensio running unto those passes from kroos and modric, or casemiro hitting shots at our goalie.
