The problem here is whether they will want to do same. Just like am here learning more and new ways to improve on my field, majority of my fellows wouldn't give change a chance. Their reason is simple,if it has been working why try to change it. So buying the kits isn't a problem but they using it.

If it is Top Bond gum, it means he has to concrete the floor prior abi Top Bond dey work for ordinary sand, sand ground?

If he has to concrete the floor to get the gum to work, what's the point and cost savings of artificial carpet grass? Or is it just for aesthetic?

I say this because I think he asked before if he could place the artificial grass on ordinary ground and the response was yes. Or did I miss it?

nail ke? I suppose they would use Gum but it would destroy whereever it has been applied upon. That said, I used a doublesided cellotape to do mine and its still there up till today. Where did you get this grass from, its looking inferior.

I just culled the photo from Google, I haven't gone shopping yet but currently prices are pegged @5000 per 3x3ft.

Because they are extortionist who don't have a fixed price but have various prices for different customers.

Many of them Don know the definition of affordable. A businessman determines price himself, no price monitoring committee. That's why we have the issue of inflation at hand now because govt organizations setup for this purposes have failed to do their jobs.

A price of paint skyrockets from 7000 to 13000, nobody challenges this, they sell both old and new stocks for the new price. A popular highly patronised paint company in Nigeria, reduced quality and increased price (why not reduce quality and keep the price)

Plastering for me.

On plastering does the "fate" of the building looks lie. Mistakes could be made on the wall or concrete casts and corrected by filling or scrapping/chizeling, mistakes could be made on the piping and corrected, but a mistake made with plastering is not easy to correct, it might stay there forever.

The worst thing is that a good screeding work cannot hide a crooked plastering work, an expensive painting cannot correct a bent wall edge or shoddy plastering work. It's even worse when you have an eye for details, you will be seeing the bent and crooked lines daily!
That could be very stressful

From a UK perspective, this is easy to answer: kitchen and toilets sell houses. A luxurious house is one with a fantastic top of the range kitchen with a well presented toilet.

A top of the range kitchen will be spacious (6x6m), with American double door fridge, a cooker range with six burners and oven, marble or granite or polished concrete countertop, microwave with wall and floor glossy cabinet units as a minimum.

In Nigeria we don't showcase our kitchen as such, so your living room should be top notch. POP is spot on. I'm not sure of the quality of your plaster work so screening your living room walls and carefully selected good quality floor tiles will nail it.

I know you said ONE thing, but don't forget your kerb appeal. This is very important. Your gate design, railing design, pillars, coping and interlocking will help tie the house together.

You know I did not wanna label them as such cos I nor get the energy to E_fight today me and this guy we dey the pic down there get an appt. This is so disheartening, put the cost of product nah fight, even as dodgy as china is, the put prices, its up to you to chose what one you want, In real life we will haggle price, on the net you want people to haggle price too it is well with us Nigerians.

I once shared this before:

"No bottom to how cheap you can build"

A home can be built with no supports, too small of a foundation, no building plan, no special windows. It can be built on solid rock, unstable soil or on water (as they do in Makoko slum).

Develop a budget, but be careful not to make it too low. Essentially, do not get too caught up in how to make your home cheaper stay focused on how to make you home a good investment.

To your question, I can only tell you what I’d do.

I’d focus on the form. I’ll ensure the framework is compact, with a good form factor.

- compact design
- great facade
- large windows

Building anything great and economical requires a lot of planning (on paper).

So the carcass stage is it for me. On finishes, I’d save on where I can by looking for value engineering but never to skimp on actual quality.
