If English speaking countries cost (tuition and proof of funds) were feasible most of us will be on that path.but that's not the case..like Arinze rightly said some are using for a first stop in itinerary plans, while also praying the country will still favor them.. I won't lie personally I'm scared moving to a whole new place but the truth is I'm ready to face my battles heads on I 100% know it won't be easy but its something I'm ready to do.. I keep praying for Gods favor and grace and I pray for all who are embarking on this journey that whatever we are looking for on this new life journey we shall find it . ikswiss: 10 Likes 1 Share |

Born in Nigeria and raised in Sweden. Yeah destines differs and not saying that there is no opportunity in Norge, all am saying is do your calculation well. Norway is mad expensive, the monthly expenses for the year would pay for your tuition in England and you will be able to get a job and fit in properly. Let’s talk about the social aspect of Nordic countries, do you guys know there is a massive diversity crisis and Norwegians are cold ass people and anti social unlike people from the UK who are welcoming and I should add we do have a massive systematic racism.. Most professional jobs that foreigners do that don’t require proficiency in Norwegian are engineering and IT related jobs but then you have to be very smart to get employed with a foreign company and ready to compete with locals as well.. So make una try do una home work before making the decision to move to Norway.. Not writing this things to discourage anyone, I’m just writing from my own experience and having some Nigerians who graduated here sharing their horrible experiences.. Ha en bra dag Arinze001: 1 Like |

Tuition fee in the Uk is about 8m minus accommodation and feeding so for me it isn't feasible.it's all about cutting your coat according to your size. I believe most of us here have done our research and that's why we have decided to move to Norway . It's not easy like you have rightly said but it's never easy anywhere ..Tusen takk ikswiss: 4 Likes |

But if you are focused and prayerful Europe is better than nigeria depending on your status.. When some folks were heading to Finland then na so I say e no easy I remain here. They are all doing fine now if not for them but their kids are secured for a life with a diffrent passport ikswiss: 6 Likes |

Kunilefo: Norway and Finland are not the same bro... lots of people will pick Finland over Norway in a blink... Norway is a very good country considering some aspect( peaceful life, working system, one of the best places in the world to raise kids( tho some say " to raise boring kids" ![]() 6 Likes |

Thank you so much for your concern.....Pls I intend going for my masters in either sweden, Norway or US next year (funds not a problem) and I can see you were raised in sweden.....I'm an experienced IT professional and love Scandinavia so they are my top choice...Someone told me sweden is far better than Norway especially when it comes to immigration and integration....Which of the two Nordic countries do you advise me to go for?...Also should I consider the US over the two Nordic countries even though I personally don't like the US cos of its so many issues.... Look forward to your reply...Thanks! ikswiss: |

my advice to anyone who English is their first language is to move to an English speaking country. In your case yo can try Canada since USA isn’t a place for you else Sweden in IT related jobs and diversity is better if you ask me. Elnon: |

Dumebi213: Hello Dumebi, I have a question please-I already saw what you wrote about difficulty in gaining admission to study a B.Sc course in Norway but I want to ask this anyway. So I already have a B.Sc(Sciences) and a PgD in Communications(which I got because I wanted to move over to the social sciences/humanities/arts) and I eventually did-I also got a certification in teaching English online, wanted to do a post graduate English Edu course but the strikes in Naija universities and everything else hasn't been encouraging at all, so now I want to get a BA in English somewhere abroad and then build my English/English Edu career from there. The challenge now is in the mode application. The schools I want to apply to all require 1 year university education as a criteria, and since I have a B.Sc(I don't like my grades there especially in my 100 level) and an P.gD(I love my PgD grades and my transcript would surely look very good), I'm wondering if it's possible to present my PgD grades as evidence of one year of uni education. Does anybody have an experience with this? Or must it be one year of B.Sc studies? I look forward to hearing from everyone in the house,I'd really appreciate your contributions-thank you! P.S: I'm just asking this as an initial question to see people's experiences, I still intend to contact the schools via email and ask them to know what's possible with each school in terms of which certificate to use and what isn't. Thank you! |

Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by Arinze001(m): 9:30pm On Apr 16, 2021 |
seyipeters: Yeah, they do. This ongoing admission roll-out, someone with a 2.94 got an admission offer. Surprising? Yeah, you can say that again! The best bet is applying for what you did as an undergrad. Spread your applications and be hopeful!. 1 Like |

Kunilefo:Thanks a lot for your swift response I thought not all schools requested for IELTS as part of their requirements? Are you saying a 2.2 product should write IELTS irrespective of the school just as a backup to complement the class of Degree? Thanks! |

Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by Arinze001(m): 9:15pm On Apr 17, 2021 |
VTJN: If your school didn't request for ielts, you don't have to write ielts. I assume he gave the ielts advise just to make you more competitive in the admission process and have wider options. Above all, apply for an MSc course you did as an undergrad and be hopeful. |
Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by Arinze001(m): 9:17pm On Apr 17, 2021 |
