KingOKON: You don't know history. We have educated you about this severally on Nairaland and other social media. This is a settled topic. I told you Ado is the first ELEKO. This history is known from time immemorial. I was in Bini as a little child. Before, the Binis and Yorubas are brothers. Nobody cares to separate. It doesn't matter whether somebody migrated from Ife or Benin or Oyo. It was never an Issue. In fact, there is a town in Ekiti with two Kings, one claimed to come from Ife while the other is from Benin. No problem for centuries until this 21st century history of Benin came out in 2004 and other versions from Benin people. Now, there is a serious tussle of Supremacy between the two Kings. Naturally, the King from Ife was recognized. His Majesty the ELEKO, Oba Akiolu said they (ruling house) are from Benin that was during the exchange of words between Late Ooni Okunade and the late Oba of Benin. The Oba of Benin avoided Alaafin who corroborated what the late Ooni said. Oba of Lagos and the Ooni before this period were not on good terms. Lagos have gotten several ELEKO. The last was Oba Adeyinka Oyekan before the present came during Tinubu governorship. The Benin history of the ELEKO is well known from time immemorial. The owner of Lagos, the AWORIS have nothing against it. It was not that the Benin conquered the AWORIS as recorded in books released between 2008 and 2009. Different books are now coming out because of internal crisis in Yoruba land. It is not that the AWORIS were driven out of Lagos and their land renamed to bear the Benin names. The AWORIS are the traditional land owners of Lagos. OLOFIN Ogunfuminire migrated from Ife. 4 Likes |

TAO12:. What manner of nonsensical question is that? Is it that Apongbon and Idumagbo doesn't exist or what? You explained your Eko, Oyingbo fables now you asking me " burden of prove", why didn't you ask for Eko and oyingbo? 1 Like |

KingOKON:Question? Do you actually know what a question is? Lol. Is it that Apongbon and Idumagbo doesn't exist or what?I didn’t explain nothing to you, child. @babaolofin did, but he didn’t have to explain anything at all to start with — because you made the claim. Here is your claim in your own words: “Idumagbo, oyingbo , Eko, apongbon are relics of ancient Benin in lagos” Now substantiate your claim with evidence because he who makes a claim bears the burden of proof. Cheers! 2 Likes |

KingOKON: Apongbon is a later name of that small area. That area is called Olowogbowo. Several decades ago, the picture of the man with big or well trimmed bushy beards (Irugbon ) after whom Apongbon was named used to be hung on a building there. You can visit this link about Olowogbo to get the meaning of Apongbon : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olowogbowo Idu is a station or terminus . Idumagbo, Idumota. You can contact Mallams or other people for more explanation or contact the Bini Prince for the meaning if you don't know it yet. Isale Eko area bo se ke kere moniwon, awon to wa nibe awo ni won o. 6 Likes 1 Share |

babaolofin:When people make claims, it is not your duty to dig evidence to disprove them — even though you may choose to. You may leave them to disprove themselves as it is their duty to attempt to prove their own claim, otherwise they have zero case. This is a very efficient approach of dealing with chronic liars such as Benin miscreants. 1 Like |

babaolofin:No, you should talk actually. And I do talk. But to avoid been burnt out, you may choose to make them debunk themselves by asking for evidence. They become stuck at that point or produce nonsense as evidence. You may also be very nice by digging out evidence to debunk them by yourself if you have the luxury of time. |

KingOKON: You don't know anything. You are a real Benin youth. They only make empty noise, know nothing apart from travelling to Europe and 419. Erelu Abiola Dosunmu (Erelu Kuti ) can never tell you that. The AWORIS don't only reside in Isale Eko. The first Isheri Olofin is in Ogun State. The AWORIS are in Ogun and Lagos State. The OLUWA, the traditional owner of Ojo land from Apapa to Mile2, Ojo Alaba and beyond are AWORIS. Those on the Island may pay royalties through Ado. The interview in Vanguard in 2017 is just because of the 21st century history. Oba Akiolu became King in 2003. Ooni Okunade never recognized him as First Class Yoruba King. The 21st century history brought all this hullabaloo. He avoided having a handshake with the present Ooni. You can see what that book has caused. 3 Likes |

KingOKON:No, they’re not “core landlord”. The Aworis are. KingOKON: The Aworis resided in Isale Eko and paid tributaries to the Oba of Benin“Aworis ... paid tributaries to the Oba of Benin.” Meaning that Aworis (not Binis) are the monarchs of Isle-Eko? Make up your mind please. You can’t have your cake and eat it. Cc: babaolofin 1 Like |
