I'm not sure what you are trying to ask.
But if you were able to renew it before your interview, there would not be any issues. The old passport will be marked "canceled without prejudice". So you're good.

bukoso:
Alright, thanks a lot, appreciate your help. But, IF I am able to renew it, would this be an issue at the embassy?

I heard about Kennesaw state university from Brown2green. May God bless him.

I'm grateful to God Almighty that made today possible. Everything started in 2019.
I wrote GRE and applied to schools but they all rejected me then I ran to Nairaland to tender my case.

One angel saw my case on Nairaland and sent a mail to me. We call him Pepe . I thank God for using Pepe for me. He told me to go and do WES so that I can get admission and funding. I told him it wasn't possible becos I didn't have that kind of money. He pressed on me until I did WES, then my story changed.

I am so happy right now. Only God could have done this.

I planned to have my interview at a later date but I just discovered that my passport will remain exactly 6 months tomorrow. God gave me today's date in short

Interview
Vo: good morning
Me: good morning sir.
Vo: do you have up to six months on this passport.
Me: yes sir. It will remain six months tomorrow.
Vo: where are you going in the US?
Me: I'm going to kennesaw state university for my Master's degree in chemistry. I got this offer in 2020 but due to covid lockdown I couldn't secure an appointment.
Vo: oh, I see.
Me: yes sir. In fact my assistantship was kept for me.
Vo: nodding in agreement.
Vo : why do you want to have this degree?
Me: I planned to join a multinational company here in Nigeria as a research and development Chemist, and this degree will put me in the best position to achieve that.
I'm currently eyeing Nestlé, OLAM, and Unilever.
Vo: where are you working presently?
Me: I'm working with Nestlé Nigeria on contract. I joined them pending the beginning of my program as I can't take up any permanent appointment until I get my Master's.
Vo: nodding in agreement.
Vo: have you travelled out before?
Me: No sir.
Vo: who is your sponsor?
Me : named him.
Vo: what does he do?
Me: he holds the position of vice president at OLAM international. So he controls all their manufacturing activities in Nigeria.
Vo: didn't get OLAM so I spelt for him.
Vo: why does he want to sponsor you?
Me: he was the one that advised me to go for my Master's abroad to gain a better research knowledge and international exposure before I join their company as R&grin Chemist. He promised to render all the necessary support and he's doing just that. In fact he gave me the money last year before I realized I couldn't go.
Vo: the money is in your account?
Me: No sir. In his account.
Vo: do you have his statement?
Me: yes I do. Gave him.
While he collected it to check, I quickly added.. that's just his transactional account, not his salary account.
Me: the assistantship I have has covered full tuition and living expenses, he's just covering the miscellaneous expenses.
Vo: checked the i20 again, then drop the account statement and then he said something I didn't hear and gave me the white paper.
Me: still standing at his front like I was in another world.
Vo: you are free to go.

I can recommend a good tutoring center. They also assist clients to register for the test. They are base in ABUJA. Success rate is more than 90%.

Pls send a mail to Mr. Randy Glean (WIU). He is in charge of international admissions. He is always ready to help.
And you will surely get a quick response.
At a point I was asked to pay app fee (which was the reason my processing was delayed), he stepped in and the fee was waived.
Pls send a mail to him.

Have you tried doing the GRE? If you score very high you may be able to overcome the GPA. Consider the subject tests too.

Hello All,

To begin with, the bolded is certainly not valid. i am assuming you had a 3.3/5.0. Many with even 3.0/5.0 still etch out admissions from schools, even moderate ones to say the least. As they always say, the admission process is not singlehandedly entrenched to GPAs, your GPA is just one of numerous indices. Albeit, with your CGPA, you can get admission, also with that same GPA, you can get funding. Let me list some sparkles you can shed light on; have, your working experience of 10 years; if you package it well in your Statement of Purpose it will certainly sell you well, try to publish a paper if you can. Write the GRE and score above 310, write TOEFL aim for >90. Go out of your way and search for faculty mail addresses in schools that you're interested in and mail them - enthusiastically!

You're writing yourself off already, which is against the laws needed in this academic space. Changing from an MSc to an MBA would certainly not raise your GPA - if your reason for changing is because you need an admission just for any course, it's not the best.

You already have 10 years of working experience, package your next application with all the points I have stated above, apply to at least 5 schools, you'll come back here and share your success story. if you do this judiciously.

i wish you well.

TOEFL or IELTS?
most US schools prefer the former to the latter, be sure to confirm from the schools you'll be applying to which they require. Any of them you choose to write, most of the germane resources can be gotten online - via youtube. For TOEFL ill always advise anyone to use Notefull mastery videos - they are free and very practicable. Speaking is always the challenging aspect of the exam, you need time to practice that. Reading and listening are basic for any English-speaking individual - but then don't be complacent.

For the IELTS you can check this nairaland page https://www.nairaland.com/1866942/ielts-share-experience-ask-questions/107#100716791 you will surely get more than enough experience and stance as you proceed for your exams.

I'll advise you to use this website (https://ieltsonlinetests.com/), it really helped me when I was to write mine. I used it for my speaking and listening test and had 8.0 in both (I wasn't even serious with it). They also have the writing and speaking test too(didn't use because the computer won't grade it). You practice with all the past questions at the IELTS exam library, check it out sha.

I sent a mail to my school regarding this today and she explained that I should input the name of my course. According to her, the Embassy understands and she explained why it had to be a different major on the I20

Hello Friends,

I got an admission for my LLM in McGeorge's School of Law, CA. I have 3 kids and intend to travel with 2. Is it compulsory I travel with my husband? And how much would be required as proof of funds for each child's up keep for visa application purposes?

Thank you.

I think you should take your number down, this is a public page and you can easily attract fraudstars. Just tell the person to DM you instead.
