The person advising you to choose a 60k job in Ibadan over a 100k job in Lagos, doesn't like you @ all.

whenever you come to Lagos, try staying on the island alone, it'll interest you to know most graduates stay @ security houses and alot of "packaged uncompleted buildings" due to numerous real estate projects.

but when you find one, don't think that's all, you still have to work hard, but why Im telling you to come to the island to work hard is simple...

Destiny helpers don't go round looking for you, you have to position yourself where they'll easily find you and you'll have options too. don't let your pastor deceive you.

it worked for me, it'll definitely work for you too..cheers

Which of the island are you talking about please?

FYI, I lived on the island for few years immediately after my NYSC before moving out of Lagos to start something. While there, I visited a number of bars, clubs etc.

The thing is you must be ready to do some unusual things.

There was this graduate that came from Calabar to lagos to look for a job at where I am working currently according to what he told my manager that I overheard. He said he graduated in 2013 and that he had worked in Calabar and the salary was too small that was why he relocated to Lagos for a greener pastures. He said his first destination was agbara, where he worked and his salary was #10,that it could barely sustain him.Hence,he left the job.He said he sold his small phone and boarded a bus to Lagos in search of a better job. When he was asked who would stand as guarantor. He said he would submit his NYSC certificate as his guarantor. The manager told him the salary he would pay him was #18k plus accommodation, minus feeding. He agreed. He brought his dirty clothes and wash them.He was so dirty when he came due to trekking. He took his bath. The guy worked for only one day and started complaining of headache the next day.He collected his certificate and left the job.

I read patiently for the grass-to-grace story.
In the end, I was disappointed. But then, I had to laugh it off. grin grin grin grin

Everyone must not live in Lagos; the state is already chocking with overpopulation.

We just need to be creative; there are opportunities everywhere. In every state, there are people who do genuine business to earn a decent income.

Admittedly, there are lots of opportunities in Lagos. But the number of people chasing those opportunities are shocking. I hear that about 50-200 apply for one job opening in Nigeria.
I have been to an interview where we were 15 applicants who came for only one position. Some names were even absent when the secretary was calling our names.I was the only person they called that year because I passed the interview oral questions.

The opportunity am talking here is to chase my dreams/passion cos you know when you establish you self in something you like doing even if you don't get paid you will be fulfilled. am a graduate in english and one of my passion is entertainment and media, I have alot that I want to do in both fields thats why I see lagos as a starting platform to develop myself and put out all what I gat. This is the tip of opportunities am talking about

Bro.... never ever say you're a graduate.... and worse... in English. It is better you wrote in Pidgin than torture us with this your graduate english. Even if I was in a position to connect you... I would not... because of your English..... and the low reasoning level you're showing chatting with Joysticks. If you can't start chasing your dream where you live.... don't risk trying in Lagos.

Am a graduate (awaiting though) and a NCE holder. I am planning to come to lagos to chase my dreams/passion. I am aware of the ups and downs in Lagos ranging from traffic to cost of living but my dreams are worth chasing. So my issue here is I want to secure a job before coming so that I would be able to sustain myself while I chase my dreams.

I have a place to stay (Festac, Ajegunle). I have benefited from this forum from different people who I barely knew. That's why I decided to bring this here even though I know there are vultures out there but God’s got our back.

If you can help in anyway, please reach out. Help me get my connect abeg.

Well changing locations can be exciting and also open new opportunities!
Howbeit
Online Remote jobs anywhere anytime is better
You can get to earn as much as $30000(thirty thousand ) monthly or yearly depends on time spent and jobs completed because of your location doing transcribing or voice over. It's a lil harder from Africa especially Nigeria because of Online scams associated to such regions though some of us still find our way around the challenges!

Some of my guys say if dem enter Lagos and they no buy car dey no go come back village.

Well since they banned Okada mosy of them are back in the village.

Another one that was working in one company as a security is already back in the village.

@op

You better think thoroughly and make plans before you move o. You see those guys wey u de plan to go stay with? Them fit change anytime.

Nobody de house and feed another person for Lagos for free o.

Also this dream you are going to chase, still de your imagination. I see no action plan. No pathway to it and besides I don't even know if you have a clear idea of what you are going to do yet.

Better sit down. Make plans before you move. If not na frustration go kee you

Which more Opportunities?

This opportunity you've been saying up and down, what do you mean by "Opportunities"?

I would really like to know so I know how to advise

Alaye! Leave the guy alone. The worst that can happen is that he'll fail and go back to his place.

Let him at least try. Lastly, not everyone is from a village.

Lagos is worth giving a try, after all those that couldn't cope either left or joined whining bandwagon.
There's a marketing job in real estate for grabs. I think the pay is 30k monthly but with commissions when u make a sale.

I can tell u off hand that if u don't get a sale over a period of time, u will stop being paid.
But with hindsight, it can help u connect and get better opportunities.

If u are interested, please kindly chat me.

I wish you all the best

Nairalanders are good comrades they will surely help you but hope you are not one of those that will run away from their villages get accommodated by people in SW and the North then find their feets, buy land, build house in SW or North then started calling them cowards, dirty, stupid, lazy, tufiakwa shit etc ba

Pls don't join those hitler descendants ingrate bollocks. My advise.

Those people I'm talking about are my people ok so don't think I'm doing tribal stunt at all. They hate me for bluntly refusing to inherit their hate gene and I give no shit.

Once more my advice. Good luck and Jah bless.

@op ill advise you to move to Lagos. Forget all those doom talkers here. See let me tell u mine. I presently reside in Portharcourt, but you won't believe that between January this year to now I have done over 20 interviews and gotten over 7 juicy job offers already and Guess what, all this were from companies in Lagos!!! I mean not a single Interview or offer from this shithole called Portharcourt. The problem I have is that I live in a very comfortable house here in portharcourt and I have nobody in Lagos. I do feel so so sad sometimes. I had no choice than to accept the last job offer that came luckily they haven't set up their office yet in Victoria Island(I'm on salary). So I'm using the time now to save so I can get a place in Lagos to stay even if it's one room. Please move!!!
