Re-Deployment of troops should be every year, but I don't understand why some troops have to stay 2-3 years.

France have been his staunchest supporter just like they've been to other dictators in francophone West African countries. Infact they aided his ascension to office and still supported him in the just concluded elections in which he won.

The terrorists don’t want a caliphate; there always were easier places in West Africa than Nigeria to establish that if they wished it.

As for now, forget about chadian deployment to lake chad or Nigeria. It is not happening anytime soon. Even if things settle down for now, who ever takes charge will want to keep his men around him.

Just imagine how things would have been if we had been arming and developing the military since 1999...... This is how the foolishness of few alters the destiny of multitudes. We are still making several mistakes in several aspects that we haven't started suffering the consequences.

the problems will subside when we stop electing clueless idiots into office and carry out overdue reforms. Until then, enjoy those dusty filthy streets and constant power outages, amongst many other ailments in naija. Its literally not rocket science to build a prosperous nation, many others have done it. Issue is, just like in the military, Nigeria as a nation refuse to learn and adapt. it's weird.

Derby's son will continue from where his dad stopped and judging from past anticedent in geopolitics, people who "inherited" power have the propensity to be more ruthless than their predecessor and of course France is there to give him all the support he needs even if it means sending in the Rafaels.
Alot of us don't know the extent of France's grip on our neighbors, they'll only turn against the incoming President if he goes against French interest in that country.

Idris Derby's son has been a close ally of France for a long time.

He led the Chadian army in Mali, it's no surprise that France will support him.

France has a tight grip of Francophone countries in West and Central Africa, those countries are merely puppet states of France.

France has Nigeria completely surrounded, from Cameroun, Chad , Niger, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.

Military bases all over the place, they will never choose Nigeria over France.
