This is nothing new, even if you look at our own laws and constitution, there are similar asylum provisions and institutional guidance for policymakers to follow.

The west do not see everything through ethnic lens as we do in Nigeria. They are therefore able to note many of the inactions of the FG in the "War" against terror and conclude that the Buhari-led Government is not sincere therefore leaving people no choice but to defend themselves.

I am no fan of IPOB but I know how the West interpret issues and why they have come to this decision. It is a non-aggressive and public reprimand of the current government leading Nigeria. By siding with IPOB, the UK is indirectly calling Buhari and his government out as insincere.
