So basically UEFA wanted part of the deal because this is still horrible for football. Let the best teams play.

Seriously, After this season Ndidi has to transfer to a bigger team than leicester City. It is high time that Nigeria have our players at the best clubs in the world especially as super eagles is enjoying a medium Golden generation. We need to produce our own Essien, Drogba, Etoo, mane, salah, Or even Mikel obi. After this season, if ndidi is still at leicester, it means that his overrated. I don tok my own. Say whatever you want to say about osimehn, but give him that credit for being ambitious. He could had been a local champion at lique 1 but he took that risk and signed for a big club. Ndidi needs to take the same risk and sign for a Winning club that's expected to challenge for trophies on a year by year basis

I said it previously. UEFA is just charging the public to crush the deal so that they'll be part of it.

The truth is that football currently is financially unsustainable. The big brands have seen the handwriting. To solve this, big brands should play more regularly.

Let me ask you, is Koulibaly overrated?

Nope, also in koulibaly case, his owner has failed to sanction or sell him to a bigger club than Napoli and even Napoli is a big club in their own right. A team that featured Diego Maradona in his prime

Exactly. But hey - you've got to give then credit for managing to get the fans and leagues on their side. They stood to lose out the most if the ESL happened.

Golden generation on average usually lasts for few years and SE must capitalize and maximize our golden generation or else we will regret. The last time SE had a golden generation was in the 1990's. Imagjne a player like okocha never played for a big club despite being one of the most gifted playmaker of his generation

Yes. Already seen this today. I knew it would come to this. The UCL reforms Uefa kept talking about was always gonna favour the big clubs and raise the money stakes. The ESL breakaway and uproar definitely forced UEFA's hands a good bit.

The only difference now is instead of a breakaway, the UCL becomes a kind of mini-ESL from 2024/2045 season with UEFA still in the centre of things making their gains unlike how they would have lost out entirely to the ESL.
Just about the money as usual.

I don't think Football fans will like this but may end up just adjusting to it. But really, it is not nice.

I understand England will now have 5 UCL slots too.

In the end, the Big Clubs are still getting a good part of what they want.

The ESL uproar was really earth-shaking. What a past 48-72hrs.

His price tag isn't 150M also the guy has served leicester excellently for 5 years and if he is really interested in signing for a bigger team, they will let him go. A player like ndidi with all his stats should be at a bigger team competing for champions league

The Big teams that rescinded their decisions to play in the ESL are also the same ones who pushed for this, I'm sure. ManCity, Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter... Etc.

The only reason this ESL failed to happen was down to the fans' backlash (Chelsea fans really stood tall yesterday. Their protests was mad), media backlash and also UEFA accepting to implement this reform soon to favor the big clubs.

It was a warning shot to UEFA. If the British Government weren't against this, I don't think Kroenke and Glazer would've backed down...

Very true. Boris also gave the Anti-ESL stand great weight.

We all know how much of a financial Scavenger UEFA is. They were only protecting heir financial interests and status. The Big Clubs needed to force their hands somehow and used the ESL as a weapon and they have succeeded in doing so. No more ESL but a new UCL awaits with bigger pay days for clubs specially the Big clubs.

We watch shaa.

On a flip note, I wonder what you guys at Arsenal would have done with 3.5 billion Euros. grin Wondering what players you would have bought too as money wouldn't be a problem again if the ESL stood.

Kroenke would've pocketed it and signed one big player to keep the fans happy.
The good thing about this drama is that dude will most likely sell the club if a good offer comes in.

Former Nigerian midfielder, Friday Ekpo has called on Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr to build a formidable team that will make Nigeria the giant of Africa.

Rohr qualified Nigeria for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon unbeaten after topping Group L that consists of teams such as Sierra Leone, Lesotho, and Benin.

In a chat with a Lagos Based radio station, Ekpo urged the German tactician not to close the door on new players but to keep inviting quality players that will add value to the Super Eagles.

He appealed to Rohr to pick the very best of players that are constantly playing regularly for their clubs in Europe in a bid to restore the glory days of the team.

“For the Super Eagles we are still building and we keep building. The word there is to keep building, to build a very strong team into winning ways so that we should be giant of Arica.

“Pick the very best of players currently playing week in week out, so that the coach will be at ease to do his work perfectly okay so that we have a better team for proper selection.”

The funny thing is that the idea might have come from the US. The ESL was to be financed by an American bank plus Liverpool and Manchester United are owned by Americans. The whole idea of no promotion, no relegation is so American. Each team would probably play each other 4 time making it like 44 games in a season. Then I am sure they would have had a playoff with maybe 4 teams. I don't think we can even imagine how much money this league would have been making. Imagine a league where every single match is a big match? Instead of watching Burnley vs Newcastle u are watching Barcelona vs Manchester United shocked

At the end of the day I think the ban from international competitions would have been their biggest problem. They would have had to significantly increase pay to keep guys interested.

The fans would have fallen in line if UEFA and FIFA never barked.

The bans were never a problem. Sports legal experts said they were within the law. Spanish courts ruled in favor of them.

The biggest problem was the people. With the kind of backlash received, it was never going to move forward.

Samuel Chukwueze has rediscovered his best form in recent matches, starring as Villarreal defeated Dinamo Zagreb in the second leg of the Europa League, before netting his first career brace against Levante last weekend.

Though he is now playing at a high level, the Nigeria national teamer had previously struggled and was a shadow of himself during the Super Eagles' international matches last month, so much so that the few Nigerian fans at the stadium called for his replacement during the second half against the Republic of Benin.

Villarreal boss Unai Emery explained that Chukwueze was not at his best because he was struggling with an injury and wasn't played in his preferred position in some matches.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match against Deportivo Alavés at Medizorrotza, Emery stated : "Samu has been playing for two games at a level that, throughout the season, he had occasionally done little, due to minor injuries or perhaps not being quite the way he wanted on the pitch, but now he has.

"So, if he is not on the field of play, we have to find other alternatives or ways to try to meet those characteristics.

"We cannot, in a week where many games are played, not take into account the ability to respond at the mental level and at the physical level."

In 35 outings across all competitions for the Yellow Submarine this term, Chukwueze has scored four goals while producing seven assists.

You have to consider players are human beings, playing 2 or 3 times each week is not goin to b any easy at all, unless they keep using different set of players to prosecute league matches and other cup games.

And set a limit price for the costliest player should be sold at until certain period of time because of inflation.
The limit price should be reviewed regulary and adjusted for inflation.
Though this option is not realist in today's world
