Make sure to carry out assignments and projects..
Go to YouTube and learn how to pitch your product or services, if you fall under disruptors , make sure to showcase a sample of your product while pitching. Your pitching must be highly professional.
The last part is your business plan, they will keep rejecting it untill you do a good job . Once your business plan is approved, that is when you have finally arrived and can start planning on what to do with the grant.

Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program is an initiative which empowers aspiring Nigerian entrepreneurs who have an innovative, scalable and profitable business idea. Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) has a YouTube channel where they publish content related to their entrepreneurship program. I will advise you have a look at their channel if you have been invited to pitch you business idea. I also recommend you watch dragons den and shark tank (the UK and the US equivalent of Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program) Good luck!

What category were you enrolled in? Startup, innovator or disruptor?

I haven't seen my email yet but I'm in disruptor category. It was stated in their website that invitation to start courses will be done by May 3rd.

Hi guys. Things to consider for the Tony Elumelu Foundation
1. Be fluent in speaking
2. Know your product well
3. Have a proper pitch deck show casing your product
4. Do a summary video of your product not more than 3mins in video
5. Do a business plan for your product and have it ready (They might not need it)
6. Ensure to have at least one member of your team on ground
7. If you can do a brand (Tshirt of Cap) ensure to wear it during your pitch or video
8. Know your financial analysis well and ensure your business is able to make profit

I guess this could be kick starter for you.

Am here for further questioning. God bless you
Na wa, see stress for $5k. I'm not doing shirt.

Please, how do I know my category? It was not stated in the mail sent to me.
This is the mail I received after completing assessment.

Dear XXXXXXXX,
You have successfully completed the application assessment.

Based on your responses, you are in the disruptors category of the TEF 2021 Program.
This means that you are eligible to go on to the training segment for disruptorss.

Our team would contact you any time after the 31st of March 2021 with details about the training and next steps.
Please be advised that this training does not mean you will receive seed capital as there will be further criteria to qualify for this.

Good Luck as you progress to the next stage.

This process is different from the processes used in the past. This time around there is a training phase prior to the pitching competition so your goal should be to take the training well.

Please can we connect to have some sessions of discussion?

Ask your questions here and let him respond so that others like you, and those who will come after you can learn. This will also sustain traffic flow to Nairaland.com.

Meanwhile, how can I access their training curriculum for all 3 categories legitimately? I will like to listen to, watch or read it.

And, I wish you guys the best! $5000.00 may not mean much to some people, but to those who need it, it means a lot. Please make the most of the opportunity if and when it eventually comes.

"DISRUPTIVE" Could mean disruptive tech. Meaning your product is innovative, that it could affect the existence of other products within same industry.

WRONG! It actually means that the candidate has sound business knowledge, at least in the TEF context.
