Hello, house, I thought to share with you feedback on a webinar we "( my school)" had online with an official of IRCC today. I specifically asked him if it is true that international students can work more than 20 hours per week due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

He debunked it and said we are only allowed to work 20 hours per week and that we should be careful of taking information that cannot be verified on the IRCC website so as not to spoil our immigration record.

He mentioned they gave that leverage to those that were supporting the health sector and that they have stopped it.

I thought to share this feedback because I know it would be useful to many.

Cheers!

Hi, is it the university1 program you applied for?
Ayobami98:
Hi Everyone!
I'm new here, please I need actual information on how to proceed with my study permit application. Things to do and not do.

I have read different articles on different platforms and also the CIC website. However, I'd like to get practical information and experiences and also be added to a whatsapp platform for persons like myself.

I'm 22 years old and I was offered admission into the University of Manitoba for an undergraduate studies, which I have accepted. Please note that this will be my second undergraduate degree.

I'm about to proceed with my study permit application, any advice please?
Also, is it wise to include my older sibling as an accompanying family member?

Please gurus in the house. I applied feb 10 2020. Got NSE request after 5 days of submission. But didn't submit untill the date expired.

Reason 1. That my salary account i used was just 9 month old as at that time and they are requesting for 12 months.

Reason 2. No ielts result to submit

But has it stands the only thing that has change from my application status is my upfront medical that have been passed and my additional documents says"not applicable "

The rest still remain "we are processing your application "

What are your advice on this plesse, can i still submit NSE request since the date given to me has expire or i should just chill or better still apply for gcms note.

I will need reply please.

Legacyedition:

I applied 15 march
I got it yesterday ...it took almost 5weeks

What date did you apply? You need to apply again.

I have planned to apply for GCMS notes every one/two weeks starting from May 1st grin . Before $100 go finish one will carry tangible details. I wasted precious 3 months last time.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Baphil: 6:29am On Apr 23, 2021
Please send in the 2nd page of your note. The page about study permit, work permit and most especially, Assessments. Something like the attached document. We will know and interpret the progress of your application from most especially, that page.

Ishaya1048:
Got my GCMS note today but I cant find any reasonable information in the notes....could it be I dont really understand the notes? The whole 32 page document does not seem to contain any concrete info other than application in progress.
Submitted Application since Nov 03 2020, almost completing my second semester online after which I cant
Continue without a study permit.
Gurus in the house what can I do ....the wait and uncertainty is becoming too much. Is there any of the gurus that can help??

I got the request for biometrics the day after I applied and found a close date at VFS for 4th. It was updated same day.

And no, they haven't asked for medical yet. I'm look to go for it first week in May.

Cherukei2015:

Wow! you mean your biometrics was completed on 4th January? just days after submitting your application?
It seems they have not requested for your medicals.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Baphil: 6:41am On Apr 23, 2021
I actually still submitted my friend's own after the expiry date and they updated it.

Another different thing I did was to send a mail to the two London email addresses because I noticed from her GCMS notes that London office was the secondary office while the Nairobi office was the primary. So since I had sent a series of webforms and emails to Nairobi that didn't make much difference, I sent the mails London and they responded and told me to raise a webform to them to enable them effectively alert the office in charge and I did so about a week ago and her PPR came out yesterday.

Without discouraging you from getting a police clearance, I wish to let you know that a police clearance report is not compulsory for a study permit. It's presence will not force them to grant your permit and it's absence will not discourage them from granting you one. I have never attached a police report in all the applications I have done and the ones out have all been granted by God's grace.

If you have the time and money, you can go ahead but if not, don't bother; utilize that time and money please.

Chief, my understanding is that your visa has been approved. I am not sure you should be worried about medicals anymore.

Other honourable members can weigh in on this.

He need to be, he cannot come into Canada with an expired medical status, he is expected to still have a medical certified status when entering.
Besides, his medicals would have expired by the time he travels irrespective of a valid visa or not.

What he can mist like do is fast forward his travel date by changing the date on his ticket, and enter Canada before the medical status expires.

All the best.
