ajikaz2003: ###### LONG POST ALERT ######
It’s Testimony Time
Guys, I wish to share my success story in order to encourage others who have been delayed. First of all, I thank Mr. Frankrobbn1, Mr. JustMellow, Mr. Lekiboboe, and other contributors for their selfless services here. I also appreciate some people who have been trying to answer questions in the absence of the gurus, but most times your answers are wrong and misleading.
Secondly, I like to thank Mr. Frankrobbn1 again because he made efforts to ensure I get approved this time, after 2 previous attempts. He is truly a guru. From the choice of course, to choosing the University, including review of LOE & IMM forms, with covering all possible refusal technicalities in my LOE. I appreciate your help, Mr. Frankrobbn1, Almighty Allah will bless you.
1st Application - Online (Did it myself)
- Course: Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting. - School: University of Lethbridge, Alberta - Sponsorship: Self - Application submitted – October 9, 2019 - Application refused – November 6, 2019 - Refusal reasons: Family ties and Employment situation
2nd Application - Online (Done by a Canadian Immigration Lawyer)
- Course: Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting. - School: University of Lethbridge, Alberta - Sponsorship: Self - Application submitted – November 29, 2019 - Application refused – January 28, 2020 - Refusal reasons: Family ties and Purpose of visit - GCMS Notes: No evidence on file of PA’s acceptance to Master of Accounting as stated (VO made a mistake here and we pointed it out in the new LOE), and the Applicant’s plans of study appear vague and poorly documented.
3rd (Approved) Application - Online (With all NSE documents)
- Course changed to: Master of Management – International Accounting & Finance - School changed to: University of Windsor, Ontario - Sponsorship: Self - Intake: September 2021, but was changed to May 2021 while my application was in progress - Application submitted – February 10, 2021 - Submission confirmation – February 10, 2021 - Upfront medical approved – February 16, 2021 - Eligibility review started – February 17, 2021 - Ghost update 1 – February 24, 2021 - Ghost update 2 – February 26, 2021 - Ghost update 3 – March 3, 2021 (GCMS shows that LOA was confirmed this date) - New LOA for May 2021 – March 19, 2021, sent via IRCC & Kenya Webforms March 20 - Follow-up emails – Started March 22, 2021, twice a week to Kenya, later to London, and Beijing. - Email acknowledgement – Received once only from Kenya on March 22 with application still in process. I realized there are 2 types of acknowledgements: (1) Active review: if you receive this, then your application is not almost finalized yet, (2) In process: this means your application is in advanced stage. - Ordered GCMS notes (through a colleague in Canada, I think it’s faster this way) – March 31, 2021 - PPR & BVL Received – April 12, 2021 - Passport received by VFS Abuja – April 15, 2021 - Passport stamped and Counterfoil received – April 15, 2021 - UPS picked up passport – April 15, 2021 - LOI received – April 16, 2021 - UPS delivered passport – April 19, 2021 - GCMS received – April 19, 2021 - Application Visa Office: Nairobi Primary & Windsor Secondary, but application was finalized by Lagos. PPR & LOI came from Lagos.
Lessons learnt: (1) Career progression is very important, (2) Significance of fund and its accessibility cannot be over emphasized, (3) Home ties carry heavy weight, especially family/economic/volunteering, etc (4) Travel history is an added advantage for matured students like me (40+), Lagos VO acknowledged this in the GCMS notes.
Documents Submitted
(1) Client Information (with a table of content) - Letter of Explanations (7 pages) - Education certificates & transcripts - CV - Employment documents (past & present), including awards & pay stubs for present job - Statements for liquidated Investments to back up 2 huge lump sums (this is very important) - My wife’s letter of introduction & support, Marriage certificate, kids’ birth certificates, wife & kids’ NIN documents, wife & kids’ passports & visas, Family & wedding pictures - Investment document in my wife’s name to show money will be available for the welfare of my family when I am away - CAC documents for my businesses - Professional certificates, including copies of Financial Statements I have signed before - Documents to support volunteering activities, both religion & sports - My Car document - Travel history documents, old passports with visa & stamps - NSE documents
(2) Proof of Fund (with a table of content) - $4 CAD tuition fee deposit - 1 year MyBank Statement Certificate - 1 year regular Bank statement with fund more than my entire tuition fee + LE + Miscellaneous - Pension RSA Statement with reasonable balance - Investment letter in my wife’s name - Documents for Residential Properties with Valuation reports and proof of rental Income
(3) All the 3 IRCC Forms (Well reviewed by Mr. Frank)
Parting notes (1) Prospective applicants must be patient (2) Do not disturb IRCC office if your application has not exceeded processing time or your resumption date is not approaching or your tuition payment deadline is not due soon (3) It seems Airlines from India & Pakistan aren’t allowed to enter Canada now, so IRCC may shift attention to the Applications from Nigeria, please get set for your good news (4) Endeavour to go the way of NSE (5) I feel sad when I read negative comments about Nigeria here, please let’s stop it. It will come to haunt you or other Nigerians. Every country has her challenges, please let’s speak well of our country
BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE AWAITING GOOD NEWS

Moren002: Good evening, everyone. Please, my fiance is planning to relocate to Canada to for postgraduate study, we've met some persons(agents) and make enquiry but they kept saying that Canada isn't accepting people for now, that is Canada isn't issuing visa now till further notice and they gave option of UK. But, from the comment s read so far I understand that some persons have been accepted even this year while some are processing. So, I'm confuse if the agents lied and do not know what to do. Please, can someone enlighten me and guide us. Please help....
Thanks. If you require professional assistance in canadian application ensure that you only use a licensed immigration consultant/ lawyer. They will never refer to themselves as agents. Please google licensed immigration consultants for more info and note that they are expensive. However, if you decide to personally handle your application, you must read this thread to have an understanding of the journey and ask questions as you proceed. All the best. 1 Like |

gozmoc8167: Good evening house. Please I want to apply for a thesis based masters at the University of Waterloo, but the professors I contacted did not respond. So, I wrote an email to the graduate coordinator, who told me that I can go ahead and apply, that they will circulate my application to professors in my field to know if anyone will accept to supervise me and I should indicate the profs I want to work with in my application. He also said that if no prof accepts to supervise my work, they will not consider my application.
I want to seek the inputs of the gurus in the house on whether I should go ahead and apply or not. I have a B.Sc CGPA of 4.32/5.0 in Electrical Engineering. And i have about 2+ years of work experience spanning the telecoms and oil industry. Guys please I need someone's advice on this. Please help a brother |

Pinkey2021:
Hello Kayyyy, you don’t need to have an existing account with the bank before you use their Form A services. That I know for sure. Form A is a CBN directive and not an individual banking policy.
For instance I used Stanbic-IBTC and I’m not their customer. You can confirm this for yourself.
Visit any Stanbic, Access, Fidelity, Zenith branch etc, stay away from old archaic banks like First bank and co, lol.
{It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All} Thank you so much |

Dear Guru Frankrobbn1, i will be requiring your expertise soonest as i commence this journey. My situation is similar to ajikaz2003, but my previous visa refusal has been on Visitor Visa. Initial reason for refusal was 1. Leaving Canada based on Family Ties in Canada & Nigeria 2. Leaving based on purpose of visit 3. Personal Assets & Financial Status. Upon the second application it was refused based on Purpose of Visit only. I know my SOP/LOE for the Student Visa needs to be very detailed and am willing to commence work on it asap to ensure i leave no stone unturned. From the last visa refusal in Feb 2019, family ties has become stronger as i didn't have my kids then. Will greatly appreciate all support from yourself and other gurus in the house for a successful application. Course - MBA St John - Fall 2021 (hoping i can pull this through) POF - Sufficient and excess funds for Tution and Living Expenses Family Ties - Kids, Husband and Parents. Landed properties in my name Employment - Stable Employment with 1 yrs experience. Reason for study is Career Progression. N.B - Would love to have my twins go with me as they are relatively young (less than 3 yrs), but considering the complexity i might apply for them after my application has been approved. I have a sister who lives in Canada, while the other one has a Canadian PR but resides in the USA. Thank you for your suggestions, advise and support as a i am positive of a successful application. Frankrobbn1:

My brother applied to 3 University for an undergraduate course, all 3 gave him admissions. Please is there any future implication if he confirm acceptance of all and present one for visa processing. Will the 2 other university consider take the acceptance a wasted slot. A senerio of been denied visa now and reapplying to the same school for admission and he will be given (chances) to process his visa in future |
