Chris made a mistake in the very first movement. He should have cut into Lingard's left shoulder, forcing him off the ball shoulder to shoulder. But because his run wasn't vertical enough, he found himself behind Lingard, hence the foul.

Masvidal goes for the high knee but Usman counters by slamming him to the ground and now they are grappling.

The technicality in that punch is incredible. First, he sets his left leg, uses his left hand to neutralize Masvidal's strong right hand guard which created the open space he needed to launch the powerful right punch to KO Masvidal.

At the end of the day it’s a tough call.. He has been accused of early calls/ stoppages just as much as he is being accused of late calls/ stoppages. He is still the bet I the business though.

He did well IMO, I’ve watched Lingards goals since joining Westham and that’s how it starts, I don’t think Chris has the pace to match Jlingz hence the foul, and there was a player I think Bowen who was very open on the far end and if that ball had reached him we would be saying something else, defenders are lauded for such tactical fouls don’t know why it’s different for Chris, he was very solid especially with Azpi been run ragged

Yeah it was a good one. Very good quality fights all round apart from the Weidman broken leg fight.

Firstly, you see the distance Herb had to cover after Usman landed the right hand that knocked Masvidal out? When he got to the area, Masvidal was trying to get up from the punch, this is very very important in the decision to allow Usman land more punches. Masvidal was trying to shake it off and that was why Herb allowed the hits to go on.

This highlights one of the biggest difference between MMA and Boxing.. In boxing, Usman would have naturally backed off after Masvidal hit the ground but that is not the case in MMA. Masvidal did not submit after he got to the ground. You can say he was knocked out but he was still active on the floor. He suffered more punches because of that until Herb stopped it.

Was it late? quite debatable but yes.. However, Herb was giving Masvidal a chance to recover since he was trying to shake off the punch.
