I'm seeing too many comments about using other countries as route for the German student visa, that "9ja don cast". I would like to understand if it solves much when the school is not free tuition, actually a private school where I'll be paying 15k euros per year for the masters program. Does this help much to obtain the German student visa just as the Australians are interested in your school fees too and issue you visa easily once you're able to pay, or would it still be same rough path even when I'm 100% purchasing the education myself? 1 Like |

Australia is just quite expensive but it is worth it. Nigeria never cast, the issue is only the backlog. My friend's wife just got an invite for a family reunion. She has been on this journey for a while to meet with him in Germany, Her interview is next month. Though a family reunion is different from Student Visa, visa appointments are still being given. I speak facts only. purest21: |

It's up to you if you want to believe what I am saying. Go and ask people in Germany if you know anyone Vet everything I say then you decide. With all the effort reading all the threads and seeking information, someone will come and say I am giving out fake info. If you are not daft, make your findings and come up with information that says otherwise. Abi wetin I wan gain if my brother no gets the interview date? Do I even know anyone here? Go and check all that I have said since I don open new account and verify. If you want to try applying from another country, nobody is stopping you. If you like do not prepare for your interview, it is still up to you. I believe this thread was created to get everyone on this journey informed, myself inclusive. We do not need to attack ourselves even if we do not totally agree with someone's input. Let's grow past this habit abeg!! Share!!! Share!!! Share!!! |

Paying school fees or not does not change what Category you fall. You have a better chance if you have a scholarship. 15k Euro in two years is approximately N14million Nna ehn, that's a lot of money. That money go enter US, Canada and other places sef. Thank am oooh purest21: |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by purest21(m): 3:19pm On Apr 25, 2021 |
OdogwuEkeke: Thanks bro I get it clearly now. So just a scholarship can clear the pathway even when you're ready to pay for a private institution. Well, regarding the other 2 North American countries you mentioned, you think 14 million means anything to them. Bro US and CA don't care about your money if you like pay 100 million for school fees, the scrutiny you'll go through ehn. And those countries are more interested in how your bank statement was built up from past 12 months than your actual ability to pay the fees, any single misrepresentation/error you're denied! Even when you're trying to prove to them you trade in cryptocurrencies and as such can't possibly have such huge amounts lying around idle in the bank just to impress them while you make zero profits the whole period. Australia of cos focuses on your ability to pay and I also like Germany cos of the option to open the block account while they have no business with account history. Favors us in the crypto line with no regular bank account balances. OdogwuEkeke: And bro 15k euros per year can't get you no masters in Canada. Never! Canada one of the countries with most expensive education for international students. You should be looking at 45k per year at Canada. And believe me these guys don't care about your money in order to make the visa process easy for you, like Australia does. Australia needs the money and chances are super high you'll get your visa easily once you can afford the fees, while it's no longer a secret rn how those admitted into masters at their universities (35k AUD and above) are granted visa easier than those admitted into TAFE Colleges (15k AUD) who mostly go through the rigorous visa processes masters students that pay higher rarely experience. This goes to show you what their priority actually is (The big bags) I would have chosen Australia but that border closure got no hope in 2022, maybe 2023. Rn I'm looking for somewhere in the western hemisphere that wouldn't stress one out and actually be happy you're coming to patronize them. I've been through enough already. If like you mentioned that Germany visa process doesn't care if you're coming to pay to or not and may even deny me, I think I should move on with the search for other western countries that greater part of their economy depends on international students and likes to profit off of them. Aussie fits into everything I need rn just that they wanna collect the money and force me into online lectures. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Certification of Nigerian Documents Notice for Nigerian students: The German Missions in Nigeria certify copies of school documents for the purpose of applying for admission at a German University. In order to certify copies for universities in Germany, a proof of application to each university is required. Please I need clarification from those that went to German embassy either in Abuja or Lagos to certified their documents based on the above statement from German embassy in Nigeria. The school I have in mind said I should certify my documents in German embassy but from the embassy site, they said one should get "a proof of application to each university is required" My question is I have not apply yet which means I'm yet to receive the school admission letter but embassy is saying one have to provide proof of application... Plz how did you guys sort this out with the embassy before getting your documents certified by the embassy. |

daambassador:Yes, each set of documents for each school with their application form. But if you're applying directly to the school via online where you have to upload documents yourself, that wouldn't be necessary as one set of documents will be used for all. But in a situation where you've to mail your documents to each school, then separate certifications suffice. |

Please did you certify all photocopies of your documents including the copies of the passport page and excluding the admission letter? Does the photocopy of the passport data page have to be colored? Did you take your passport photograph at the embassy considering it’s certain requirements or you found somewhere good? |
Hello guys, I'm here to share my whole admission to visa experience on this German waka. I hope this lightens the mood here because I know the mood around here is down . So I've been on my German journey since late 2018, I tried applying to many schools for Msc admission and got loads of rejection which dampened my mood but I decided I was not going to relent. So all through 2019 I was seeking admissions in public schools and I wasn't getting any, I guess because my course of study was in high demand (Data science) which requires the best Bsc result. In the midst of this rejection offers I decided not to relent and was a follower of this German visa thread on nairaland. I began to notice that even with admission letters, appointment letters at the Embassy was not forthcoming and so I decided to leave Nigeria. Early this year I decided on moving to Turkey, with the aim of staying six months and then moving to Germany, at this point I had no German admission yet but I decided on pursuing it. I came to Turkey in March and during the whole lockdown I started looking out for more schools to apply to in Germany. My plan was very simple, I would come to Turkey , stay for six months with their residence permit and then apply for German visa after getting admission to Germany. So, I was sending applications here and there while I was in Turkey here and BOOM I finally got an admission to one of the best schools in Germany (top 10 percent worldwide). At this point I already had my Turkish resident permit and was waiting for my six months to complete before I apply for the German study visa at the Embassy here. Finally, the six months elapsed, and then I began the visa application process which was very simple and fine . The Process here in Turkey is very simple: 1. They have a third-party body (iData) that you book visa appointments through. 2. You pay about 69 Turkish lira which is an equivalent of (4500 naira) and then they tell you in two weeks you'll get an appointment to go to the Embassy. Mine came in 9 days. 3. They sent me the required documents and everything I needed to take to the Embassy which was not a problem at all. Required documents were blocked account confirmation ( I used expatrio), health insurance which expatrio provides, original copy of your degree certificate, visa application form and biometric passport photographs and most importantly 75 euros and motivation letter. 4. And so I went to the Embassy, guys it was very smooth there.. no stress whatsoever. I got to the Embassy on time . Had a wait time of 20 minutes and then it was time to talk to the visa officer. 5. The interview questions were smooth though plenty, I advice for preparation and calmness. So at the end of the interview the visa officer told me I will be given a visa decision in 4-6 weeks and so I left. 6. Guys, exactly one week after my visa interview , I received a call from the Embassy that my passport and other documents are being shipped by UPS and they are calling to confirm my home address. I responded accordingly and they said in 2 - 3 days I will receive my documents. 7. I am glad to say I received my passport with the visa stamped. I can say I am ready to travel to Germany and start a new phase in my life.. Cheers Everyone!! For everyone still trying and hoping to leave Nigeria for Germany or anywhere else, I believe everyone's dreams and wishes will come to pass. Hi Guys. It’s been months I put up this post here and I’ve received mails and requests on the process and how everything went. People have asked about the cost implication and the possibilities. It appears my post wasn't totally informative and will like to update it. So, I left Nigeria for Turkey on a study visa. Before I left I did some research on the kind of permit I will be getting and if it will be eligible to apply for a German National Visa in Turkey. I went as a student and got a student residence permit but from the new laws I see now going as a tourist will save you more money and you would still be able to apply for the German National Visa. All you need to provide is proof that you are a permanent resident in Turkey and this is done by showing you have been living in Turkey for the past six months. This is my student route process: As I said I went as a master's student from Nigeria. Another new law in Turkey which I noticed from most of their schools is that they don't grant Msc admissions for February intake, though I was fortunate to get mine in February 2020. So I went as a student. The university I applied to had a tuition fee of $4,000 for the whole program and you will have to pay $2000 for the first semester and for registration before you are recognised as a student and granted eligibility to apply for your long term resident permit when you get into Turkey. For living expenses in Turkey, their national currency is the Turkish Lira which is not so stronger than the naira. For accomodation you can have a budget of $150 to be paid monthly. the houses don't come furnished but you can furnish them from the second-hand market. With a budget of $300 you can get a bed and mattress, kitchen items , a sofa and maybe a washing machine. Internet home subscription is unlimited though you will have to pay $10 monthly. Water, electricity and gas bills can go for $30 dollars or slightly lesser based on your usage. For feeding you can live on $200 (it all depends on how you eat). The job market in Turkey is not so good, most foreigners engage in trading - they buy clothes and ship to customers in every part of the world. Some people do tile exports, door exports and others. Ready available jobs are home cleaning jobs with minimum monthly earnings of 1,400 Turkish lira or 1200. The reason I had to update this post was so people who decide to go through this route have a good understanding of what is involved. I really hope the embassy situation in Nigeria improves so people don't have to go through this stress. For those wishing to come to Germany my suggestion is you start learning German anyway you can and also if it's possible the schools you choose should have proximity to the big cities where you can readily find jobs and the language will not be a barrier. Please I sent you a mail... 1 Like |

Good day everyone... I'm quite new to Nairaland and I don't know how to post here that is why I'm quoting this message. I applied for an English taught Master degree in University of Gottingen. However, I got a mail from them last week that to complete my registration, I need to submit a proof of English language proficiency test( international recognized proficiency test). So I replied their mail that I was told I can submit a proof that I schooled in an institution where English language was a medium of instruction and which was why I submitted Letter of Proficiency that was given to me from my institution. However, it seems they don't accept letter of proficiency because from this mail, they said I need a Diploma supplement that I was taught in English. Please who knows what diploma supplement means? Has anyone used it before? How does it look like?.... because I asked a lecturer of mine and he said he's not aware of anything about diploma supplement. Thank you in advance for your kind response. ][/img] OdogwuEkeke:

Itstomisin: I believe what they were asking is your academic transcript because' about three different schools told me the same after informing them that English language was the only medium from kindergarten till university...they all agreed that my degree certificate and transcript can take the place of IELTS and others...but plz still ask them if its transcript they mean. |

Seems Germany embassy situation in Nigeria has not improved. Can some of you look at Switzerland? I spoke with my Swiss neighbour today, he's told me about studies in Switzerland is about 800 Swiss Franc per semester equivalent to almost 800 EUR too although living expenses is high, the wages for working students is high too about 20 EUR per hour and a student can afford the 800 EUR semester fee, 400 EUR apartment (approximately). I do not know further details but interested persons can find a thread on it here on Nairaland.com or other sources. 3 Likes |

Itstomisin: This is what I deduce from the email screenshot you posted: They want you provide proof that English level C1 (minimum) was a requirement for your previous study. A diploma supplement is a document that shows details of the courses on your transcript (i.e topics covered grading system, admission/degree requirements etc.). This info is typically found in your faculty/department handbook. English O'levels is a requirement for most (if not all) undergraduate programmes in Nigeria. I expect that your handbook should show WAEC/Neco English as an admission requirement. Hopefully, the minimum waec/neco requirement as stated in your handbook is equivalent to CEFR level C1. Cheers. |
