This study path look tedious for those in 30s or 40s

How possible to get study permit with above age. I want to go for post graduate program (college). I work, have company, have 10million, sponsor, have lands etc

My problem is just my age, has anyone gotten study permit with above age, I'm in late 30s?

Yes it’s possible
Someone who was 40 years old was approved few weeks back. You just need to package your application well and show clear career path goals and you will be fine, and don’t forget to back it up with serious prayers.

It will end in praise

Hello Everyone, thank you all for the help in responding to people's questions.

Please I want to ask, I have been admitted to PhD in University of Alberta for fall. I do not have the required 30kCAD for the NSE route but I have my IELTS score of overall 7.5. I have written the department for a funding letter and they said it will be available from May. Please if I get the funding Letter of about 30kCAD plus my bank statement of account of about 7kCAD will it suffice for the NSE route since I don't have time again as I would be resuming by September?

Hello Bro, please help me. I have sent series of mail to you. Please help me

Uzomachukwu:

1. You can send the SOP to me at delphianconsulting@gmail.com. I should be able to give some useful thoughts on it.

2. The expression 'just got busy' is very vague in terms of explaining your financial situation. But if you mean that there had been no serious funds in it until recently, and that what is there is not yet enough for your tuition, travel and living expenses, then my advise would be this: wait till June when you'll get that funding letter from your PI. It will add a whole lot of weight to your study permit/visa application. Time, as they say, will be against you by then. That's true, but you can buy time by preparing your mind to start your PhD online for the Fall term and then travel when your visa comes out, or you can defer to winter term if at all this is possible in your case (depending on your funding arrangement with your department and PI/supervisor, you could be allowed to defer by a term or for a full session — the former is always preferable if your funding arrangement allows it).

3. Applying via NSE is well advised. You could use the waiting time to obtain a satisfactory score in your IELTS. A PhD student, I believe, should be able to score 9.9, if not the full 10 points, in IELTS. LOL... What a joke! (It would have been true if only IELTS were a respecter of one's academic level. I read with pleasure the story of the white Australian born English PhD candidate and star student who couldn't score up to, was it, 7.0 in IELTS. Ah! This English-language-oil-refinery which the UK and Australia mischievously set up just to milk the so-called global south dry).

First nobody here can authoritatively tell you that YES, an approval is sure. but with the finances, you could stand a chance. though i would recommend if you could increase the 7kcad to 10kcad for living expense

I'm currently drafting my LOE. However for the school I'm attending, they require me to complete prerequisite courses before I apply to the nursing school so my first year will be spent completing those courses. They gave me general admission so that I would have the freedom to do the required courses without declaring a major. On the letter of admission it states that the course of study is not specified. Do I explain it like this in my LOE? Also, the length of the program is 4 years but I will need a visa for 5 years because of my first year for prerequisite courses and then the 4 years of nursing school. How should I frame this? I don't want to draw any red flags to my application. Thank you all for all the advice so far!

Please moniker, i would like to ask, DO YOU HAVE A DEGREE IN NIGERIA?

Either yes or No, i would advice against going for this pre-nursing bsc..

Reason is because Canada hardly issue visas for persons going for a pre-nursing bsc. Their reason is based on the fact Nursing is a technology they dont share with outsiders unless you are a citizen or PR. Not trying to demoralize you but i felt i did share this. Other gurus might have a different view

Were you previously rejected ?
If not you should be writing a statement of purpose(SOP) and not a LOE
Moreover, LOE is not to explain your career goals if at all you need to write one( I mean if you have been previously rejected)

No I haven't been rejected before. Sorry about the mix-up. So how do I go about the SOP?

I was in your exact shoes
I wrote an SOP like I was going for an entirely different 4 year program
Instead of explaining the whole nursing story
You can start research, maybe claim you want to do Biology for 4 years/ or any other reasonable course
Demonstrate passion for what you’re writing about

When you get to Canada, you can apply for your nursing and extend your study permit later

Thank you for the advice. I think I'll just go with what @Lamideyy said about writing about a different program. But they gave me general admission so how do I indicate the reason I did not specify? Can I write that I am yet to decide between Biology and Biochemistry or something? Or do I just say that I am undecided. I'm just scared that they will contact the university. I don't want any mishaps.

Please be careful.
Admin @Oliadeo7 just tried to scam me of 1.5m.
I know there are people trying to get help here. But take everything slowly. Don't be eager and get duped. He gave me rate of 340 to 1 cad and I fell for it. Not knowing that this guys is a scam. He paid the fees. Waiting for me to send the money to a Nigerian account that is not in his name and passport id doesn't have the same name nor does he has the same name on number. I told someone in Canada to call the number he gave me and he didn't pick and later called him to a private number.. He said he graduated from ubc. He has pr. All na lie. Please be careful. This are the pictures given to me. Please be careful out there.

No. International students are definitely allowed to study Nursing. I'm sure you meant Medicine, Pharmacy and the likes.
