edi287:Ighalo first season with Watford was in the championship and he scored 20 goals. Sadiq in his first season with Almeria has scored 16 goals already with more assists. Ighalo first season in Laliga 2 where Sadiq is playing now was with Grenada and he scored just 4 goals. Ighalo has only had 2 good seasons in his professional career playing in the whole of euro why Sadiq has had 4 good seasons already, also playing in the same Europe 4 Likes |

ChrisKels:Forgiveness this indeed is for you. Ighalo best is the worst compared to our today's strikers painting Europe with goals. And Moffi isn't even mentioned yet oh. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by edi287: 6:16pm On Apr 28, 2021 |
Arabiandude:I was talking about his first season in the epl. Truth is Sadiq has not come close to outperforming Ighalo's first season in the epl. Peak Ighalo > Sadiq Umar. |

Arabiandude: I excluded Moffi on purpose just to respect Ikpeba. Moffi has already equalled Ikpeba's best in a single ligue1 season, and he is on course to supplant Ikpeba as Nigeria's best ever in a single ligue1 season 4 Likes |

Odunayaw: let's hope he is doing the right thing....ighalo is a leader and a proven striker in the green white green...it not actually a big deal including him in the 50 man list he can bring experience to the team and also note the fact we are only taking 3 strikers for any major competition. |

smartsmith0907: Which experience Ighalo wan bring come? Is Ighalo more experienced than Acho? I wonder what our strikers need to learn from Ighalo whose prodigality in front of goal is well documented |

edi287:Then allow Sadiq also have his first season in Laliga also, hopefully that will be actualize next season, then we will be able to compare Ighalo EPL first season and Sadiq Laliga first season. For now, the only way to rate them is Ighalo stats when he played in Laliga 2 for Grenada and Sadiq stats playing in same Laliga 2 for Almeria. Again, I will stand by my words that Ighalo 15 goals in the EPL was a fluke and a one season wonder, else how come he scored just 1 goal the next season? Also in all Ighalo professional career playing in the top leagues, he has been abysmal, except for that singular season that he scored 15 leagues goals. 6 Likes 1 Share |

smartsmith0907:Okay, so let's assume we are taken just 3 strikers to any major tournament today and with the forms our current strikers are and their talents, who will you drop for Ighalo? Osimhen, Iheanacho, Simy(that's currently Nigeria record goal scorer ever in Europe in a single season), Moffi (That has even scored more than Osimhen did playing in the french league, on the verge of breaking Ikpeba french league record for any Nigerian and a powerful left footed player) or Onuachu that currently scores for free? |

Arabiandude: I wonder o . They are all talking about experience, as if there wasn't many complaints about Ighalo style of play when he was with the team...He cost a second round place at the world cup and it took some show of faith from Rohr for him to remain with the team after that... |

Arabiandude: even I am still confused lolzzzz rohr invited itself has not made up his mind there are factors that will influence rohr's decision on these players one of them is their dynamism and how well they fit to the coach's philosophy we can't invite osihmen,Umar, nacho, simy, moffi, onuachu in a match haba nau so we have to see how these plays fits into the team philosophy...we are actually looking forward to strengthen our midfield think about bringing the likes of ejaria, olise and nwakali to see if they will fit into team structure and see what they can do. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by 12large1: 6:58pm On Apr 28, 2021 |
forgiveness: Nigerians are obsessed with being labeled "the youngest team at a world cup" they have been the youngest team at every world cup since 2002. The Sadiq, simy, moffi that people are campaigning for will be experienced in 4 years and Nigerians will start request for another new set of inexperienced players. I remember how foolish and dumb SE dropped oliseh, finidi, babangida, agali, ikeba, oruma all because they lost to a World class Senegal team in 2002. History always repeat itself |

Arabiandude: You see why I call you a Mumu? Ighalo first season at Grenada, he qualified them from segunda to LA liga and became a legend let Sadiq qualify Almeria to la liga before we have that discussion. Like what sort of analyst are here comparing a small boy like Sadiq to Ighalo. Omo let me bite my tongue before some small boy get me offended |

ChrisKels: there is particular saying "the devil we know today is better than the angel we don't even know at all" ighalo followed us to four major tournament WCQ,WC,AFCONQ and lastly AFCON he did well in the last two he was the highest goalscorer in the two tournament yea he was woeful in the WC but if we don't watch football base on bias view you will notice he got into some right position which nacho couldn't even get to though he missed the two chance against Argentina but remembered he was robbed of a penalty actually so I won't actually say he was woeful rather I say he was average... despite these odds he came "twice as tall" in the AFCONQ and AFCON so it not actually a big deal as a reserve player we might lose any players to injury or travel ban..ighalo could come cos he is an integral member of the team... and rohr putting in the 50 man list doesn't mean he will invited but a pointer he is still a part of his plans. i don't see a big deal in that actually. |

AndSunGorilla:Haha oga sungorilla I no watch Teslim Balogun but read a lot about him... tear net just one of those old folktale Sebastian Brodericks won maiden edition of U17 world cup with player like Ndidi Ugbade, Victor Igbinoba,Lucky Agbonsibvre,Dele Abubakar who happened to be my senior neighborhood brother.Brodericks was assisted by Christian Chuckwu.A good coach with youth team. Paul the wonder boy Hamilton was a good tactician who took us to U20 Moscow 85 and came third with player like Samson Siasia,Monday Odiaka,Victor Igbinabaro,Waidi Akanni,Andrew Uwe,Godwin Eke,Osaro Obabaifo,Alloy Ago, Christian Obi.....coach Paul Hamilton took over super eagles from Chris Udumeze who failed to qualify Nigeria for 1986 Afcon and did a wonderful job before Manfred Hoener took over from him but continue as assistant. In the 80s and early 90s Nigeria produced good coaches like Alabi Aissien,Willy Bazuaye,Tunde Disu,Kelechi Emeteole the caterpillar,Joe Erico,Jossy Lad and foreign one like Argentine known as Dominiques who coached Rancher bees in the 80s. Also we have great administrator like Greek born John Mastroudes,Idowu Nathaniel father of UK athlete Idowu Philip,Isaac Akioye,SB Williams,Patrick Ikeji etc. My man watching league in the 80s and 90s was fun with the of old rivalry like Rangers and Shooting Star or Leventis and Abiola Babes. |

12large1: To hell with experience... Performance is the first criteria to consider when selecting players for a team .And as it stands, Iheanacho, Osimhen, Moffi,Simmy and Sadiq are performing better than Ighalo.. What experience does Ighalo have to offer the team? The experience of scoring penalties and missing crucial goalscoring opportunities abi? Abi the experience of some nonsense holdup play? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Danielnino00(m): 7:17pm On Apr 28, 2021 |
12large1: Nigerians will request for Osimhen's omission when he stops performing, not the nonsense you wrote there.. Players like Ndidi, Ekong, Balogun,Iwobi, Awaziem, Iheanacho and Simon have been with the team for as far back as 2015 and are counted as experienced members... How many people have called for their omission? The only point you have been able to use to support your suggestion is that Ighalo is experienced ..You are avoiding the more important questions which are 1) What his current level of performance? 2) What does he have to offer the team that the current crop of players can't? 4 Likes |

smartsmith0907: Bros currently, Ighalo is crap and does not deserve a place in eagles set up. Also, stop saying he was denied a PK, because he was never fouled for a PK neither was he the designated PK taker of the team, instead, Rojo's handling of the ball in the 18yard box presented Ighalo with a begging chance and he didn't disappoint by fluffing his lines as he was/is always accustomed with |
