I don't know much about law. However, I know Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby got sued for sexual problems that happened way back in the past.

Since the matter is being investigated and will definitely go before the court, I think it's better to refrain from rash conclusions and media trial. It's only a matter of time before a conclusion is reached.

All in all, Baba Ijesha is in enough trouble already. How many people will hire him with trust issue hanging around his neck like an albatross?

For him to have touched her indecently in the said video confirms that he had sexually assaulted her in the past too

The day he was set up was not the first day he's meeting the girl in question. So he only wanted to continue the regular things he has done to her in the past.

So doing normal logical calculation he's guilty of the charge.

Social media is not a court of justice but a place for attention, to escalate issues. Both parties were warned to stay off media in order not to derail the case. If the case is being treated unfairly, the woman is free to come online at any time
Though we might not have a good political understanding, but I have to say that this your reply is brilliant...

I said something similar here yesterday, but some emotional social media Lawyers decided to sacrifice me to their deity.

The mother complained that her child was at the age of seven when she was defiled and the child pointed at Baba Ijesha. But the case was not reported until she was 14 years and under the law, the case has become statute-barred.

“Regarding this new case, the CCTV footage has been assessed and nowhere was it captured that Baba Ijesha defiled her. The footage only showed him touching the victim’s body but it never showed him having any sexual intercourse with the girl. The girl also confirmed the same thing.

The fact that he was touching the victims body...a child of 14. He is guilty.

She cannot be his only victim. They need to find the others.

Can a criminal case be statute-barred?

Nigeria.

He is a paedophile, simple and short.

He has been doing it not only to this child. The fact that the CCTV captured him torching the child points to the fact.

Yes, he is. But the police can only work with hard evidence, not just words of some against the others. Even the court will rule on hard facts, not sentiments and emotions.

The said police man talking about fact should present his teenage daughter to the public as experiment, let's see how he feels.

This is uncalled for. Learn to comment with decorum, the man is simply doing his job within the ambit of law. Or, do you want him to go outside the law to make you happy?

Lagos laws on defilement does not support sexual offences committed innthe past against minors.
It is only delta state that does not have a time limit.if baba ijesha was caught in delta state he will be liable

A lot of people are rotting in jail for crimes and accusations less than this even without evidence or trial. We choose to defend our own until it happens closer home. A child molester is a child molester, and should be treated as one, imagine touching a minor inappropriately and saying that is not enough evidence to hold him, which means something might have been going on which we don't know. Just give him Ogun to swear with and let him go.

Get sense small na. You can't punish a person without evidence. Almighty CCTV evidence didn't show it.

Naija police are known for selling justice

If they can collect money from relatives of criminals to cover up kidnap and murder, what is rape they cannot cover up

Remember that fat woman that had her little son in deeper life high school and was complaining of rape and maltreatment of her son on social media? did you see her again on social media? what does that tell you? lipsrsealed

The police may be corrupt, but in this case, they have a point.

The police have to take Baba Ijesha to court as soon as possible, but with no evidence, how will they do that?

And the law does not allow them to hold a suspect indefinitely, not even if it is murder-related.

Does baba Ijesha look like someone who can afford to bribe police.

The fact that he touched the girl indecently proofs he is a pedophile, for goodness sake he is a celebrity he can get any lady of his caliber to have fun with anytime

Why the little girl ?

Points to the fact indecent touching and not rape. For rape to occur you need to have penetration.

The said police man talking about fact should present his teenage daughter to the public as experiment, let's see how he feels.

You are just bringing in sentiments, the fact of the matter is that The video did not provide evidence of rape.
