I am applying for Msc in New York Institute of Technology. But someone advised i leave it cos it is an Institute and no a university, That i will affect me when i go for Visa Interview. Please I need your Opinion here. Do you think the school will affect my visa decision?

That's an ignorant suggestion from whoever that was. Ask the person what's the difference between an institution and a university. If you have a cogent and concise reason for choosing NYIT. Then go for it, its an accredited school, which is what's important. I've seen people given visas attending "one building " institutions. Then why not NYIT with over 7,000 enrolled students.

According to US immigration laws. 14 years and below is seen as the age which one can be accompanied. At 17, one is seen as being able to answer logically. The answer to you question is no. He/she has to go there alone.

I got the date on Monday after the approval of my emergency request.

To be eligible for emergency request
1. You need to have a normal regular appointment... In my case, my appointment was for October 8 and my program is meant to start in August.
2. You then file in for an emergency request. You will need your i-20 and sevisfee receipt, and the reason for the request
3. If approved your will then be asked to reschedule your appointment.

Yes she need to go with the baby, and the baby needs his/her own passport if she is travelling with the baby.

It happened to a lot of us. In my case I was cropping the picture from my lappy... Kept cropping until it met their requirement... I think there is a way your head needs to appear. And the inches of the picture...

I think you should keep on checking between now and in the evening. You will see a closer date. But if you do not you just need to book the one you see first. Because if you do not book after 7 days since they accepted your emergency request. You will no longer qualify for the emergency again.

If you have selected July 8 and it has been confirmed to you, then you would have to request an emergency appointment on your profile. You should back your request with supporting documents such as i-20, SEVIS fee, admission letter etc and please reschedule your appointment immediately you get the approval. It comes between 1 to 2 business days

Book number is the volume of your passport, either 32 pages or 64 pages. Many of us have 32- page passport.
