Good day everyone, my wife is planing to go for her master degree in USA later this year or early next year and she is planning on going there with my 7 months old baby.My question is when going for visa interview is it advisable for her to go there with the baby as evidence or not.Your reply is highly needed.

Let her go with her baby. The 7 month old would still need a passport too.

Thanks for the respond ,it's the issue of no booklet that's still delaying her .

Good day everyone,

I need help oooo , I have my I-20 form already , and I have paid for my sevis fee, just to book an appointment, but a friend of mine in the state said I have a slim chance of getting my Visa approved because I don't have any funding(my tuition fee is $26,454) and I'm using my uncle's statement of acc ( not my parent) this will be second time I would be going for an interview. Pls I need advice from expert here.

What advice specifically do you want? Let me ask, is your friend a Visa Officer? You said you have been denied before, what has changed in your application? You have paid Sevis fee, you have gotten i20, and it's now that the fear has started getting on you - cold feet?

I'm summary, you have reached this stage already, if you wanted to back out, you shouldn't have started the process at all. Now you're here, what you should be focused on is how to boost your chances of securing a Visa; this can be achieved by already preparing your answers to your interview (mock interview). Getting yourself composed - not taking this as a do or die situation. Just prepare! Read past transcripts you'll see people with over 30,000USD COA still getting their visas. There's nothing wrong in your uncle sponsoring you, just be ready to explain why he would want to invest such on you.

The application fee period I applied in was from March 1st to March 7th. I guess the application fee waiver they have now is for US undergraduates. I would advice you call the international admission office to enquire more.

Thank u very much

I think you can book the date and rebook when there is closer date..
You have a chance of rebooking.
If that doesnt work you can go for emergency request within 60 days to your resumption..

Hello House, Good morning
I am applying for Msc in New York Institute of Technology. But someone advised i leave it cos it is an Institute and no a university, That i will affect me when i go for Visa Interview. Please I need your Opinion here. Do you think the school will affect my visa decision?
Is there anyone that has gotten admission and visa with the said institution?
The same way university of Ibadan is better than Massachusetts institute of Tech.

Passport number is the 8 digits number printed on all your passport pages. It is preceded by an alphabet e. g A01234567

Book number is the volume of your passport, either 32 pages or 64 pages. Many of us have 32- page passport.

on my ds160 I just ticked does not apply. Is that a problem.

How is this a problem? And how are you so sure that you are right because without even any research one can know that Passport Book Number is not just 32 or 64 pages. Some countries have that in addition to passport number, so it is not every country that has Passport book number; it is just an inventory control number in some countries. Afaik, the only important number is the Passport number.

Good day everyone!
Someone I know recently had his f1 visa refused here at the US embassy in Ghana. I am posting his transcript here for comments on why he might have been refused.
Thank you. Please the gurus in the house I need your help.

This was my interaction with the VO
Q:What are you going to study
Masters in Political Science and Govt @ Ohio University
Q: Can I Pls have your I-20?
handed it to her

•What did you study at the undergraduate level
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Study of Religions

•When did you complete school
2015, May 2015

•What have you been working since then

I have worked with Ghana’s leading private media organization, Citi FM/CIti TV for the past 5 years as a broadcast journalist covering parliament and othe r socio political events in the country
.
•How did you get to know about the Ohio University
I got to know about the school through one of my lecturers during undergrad, Dr Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission who is an alumnus of Ohio University. When the time was for me to think about pursuing graduate studies, I researched on the school, like the course structure and course concentrations on offer and put in my application which has been successful.

•Did you apply to any other schools apart from Ohio University
Yes, two other schools, Columbia University and Northeastern University

• I see you have funding, who is paying for the other part of the funding

A:My Uncle, Richard Assuming
What does he do
He is a contractor, he executes government projects mainly in the educational sector
Do you have a supporting document fr him
Yes; his bank statement.
(Hands bank statement to her)
• Does he have any kids
Yes
• How old are they
Five and Seven
•What are your plans after studies
I would come back and continue with my media job and also set up a parliamentary civil society group based on the expertise and exposure I will gather at the Ohio University in the states which is the bastion of democracy
• Have you travelled outside Ghana before
Yes; to Ethiopia
What for?
I was part of a group of journalists selected by Oxfam to observe and cover the AU heads of state and government summit in Addis Ababa. I can hand over my old passport if you want to confirm
Q; No that’s fine
• Have you travelled outside Ghana in the last two weeks
No
• Did you apply to any other school outside outside the US
No

Then she started typing plenty..I was very hopeful at this point that I had been granted the visa I was seriously praying

she said
• Take off your mask
I did
She continued typing
Then she dropped the bombshell
I’m sorry your visa can’t be approved because you do not qualify for this type of visa at this point in time
Then Handed me their letter

I said wow..she said yes!

I walked away

That’s my experience

May I ask, what's your deficit on your i20 which your uncle would be paying for? Then how much was the closing balance of the SOA?

You are wrong!

Book number does not mean 32 or 64 pages

book number is another number that exists in the passports of some other countries

It does not apply to Nigeria

I extensively confirmed this from an immigration officer and you can make your findings too and stop misleading people
