Phyde:

All the the sports addons like sportsdevil addon i have tried on this current kodi version are not working, had to reinstalled the old version but the buffering is just too much when streaming live football.

Advise me which free, safe and fast VPN to use. I'm within Lagos.

Thank you.

You don't need dish. Kodi app required strong internet connection to setup.

Little drops of water make the big ocean.

Someone on this platform has friends who are consultants in teaching hospitals whose landlords and landladies are nurses who earned less than them.

I have neighbours, a couple who both retired as public school teachers whose tenants are bank managers.

If you think something is not possible, it won't be possible

There’s simply no logical explanation behind this. Either they got an inheritance or some Good Samaritan in their lives built the house for them. Or maybe they had some side gigs that were paying them good money.

Honestly, on a 50k salary, you are poor. You can barely feed and stay afloat till the end of the month. How can you now be saving for a house? Let’s be calling a spade a spade and stop giving people false hope. You can never ever save enough to build a house on a 50k salary!

No inheritance, invested in cheap real estates using teachers co-operative through their 30 years in service.

Some of the plots of land bought for 20k in the mid 80s are now up to N30 million per plot due to expansion and dualization of the roads.

One of their houses was leased to a Bank, referring to the couple who were teachers

So you are actually saying they bought plots of land when they started their teaching careers. Teaching that has always been one of, if not the worst paying job in Naija.

20k was a lot of money in the 80s. A teacher was probably making N50 those days. There is no way a teacher on that salary could afford a 20k plot of land in the 80s. Talk less of buying plots.

I am not saying it is not true but there is something missing in the story.

bro, contentment and planning is the key.
I am a living testimony here not for boasting but for you to learn. Before introduction of ippis to federal tertiary institution in Nigeria, my salary was 43700 but now my salary is about 38850 due to heavy taxation by ippis. To the glory of God I have 2- Three bedroom flat in ibadan(though the 2nd flat still in lintel level) and my children living fine.
now to my God's given secret
1)planning
2)economize
3)cooperative society
4)contribution.
Those are the secret God gave me to forge ahead and no need for what not useful for me

Corporative loans and staff loans.

Your 18k will buy a volkswagen Santana in 1985, 20k will buy Peugeot 505 evolution in 1985.

The 20k can also buy 10 plots of land that you can now sell for N100 million.

I won't talk too much, because the people are my blood.

The question is how a teacher making N50 monthly in the 80s could afford to buy plots of land at 20k without help. How much co-operative and staff loans can that person get on that salary?

Anyway, with God, all things are possible smiley

This is highly unbelievable.

You are likely not telling the full story.

You either have another business, or your wife earns big or you engage in "sharp" practices in the office.

This is why I sometimes don't take things I read online serious. You read some posts and it just annoys you. It feels like this person thinks everyone reading is an idiot.

Let's say he has earned an average of 40,000 over the last 11 years. Let's assume he has saved everything he has earned without spending a kobo. The total money he would have made in heaven and on earth is about 5m.

This guy wants us to believe he has bought lands, built two three bedroom flats, probably gotten married, had kids, sent them to school, transports to work, feeds and feeds the family, paid rent before he built his house all on 5m naira in the last 11 years.

Who is following the drama at First Bank,
Emefele earlier today sacked the entire board citing insider abuse and reinstated the outsted MD Dr Sola Adeduntan. A lot of boardroom politics has been ongoing in FBN for a while now, leading to poor results year on year.

By the way, for those claiming to be doing exploit with 50k salary - I wish them luck (or they are not telling us the truth)
Don't they born pikin, eat etc, school fees alone in the villages for nursery and primary pupils is btw 10 - 15k, and I know Nigerians they will have at least 3 pikins. Don't tell me they send their wards to govt school because I know people that earn 30k or do menial work still struggling to send their kids to private schools.

To be frank, how can one live on a $100 monthly salary and be dreaming of building a house in this Kain fucking country of today, it sounds impossible to me. Hey I might be wrong though.

We know how it goes down in government offices.

No way you will tell me that your wife and kids are doing well on 40k and expect me to believe.

I'm a single guy, no family responsibilities, no extravagant lifestyle. Yet I know how much I have spent this month alone.

I know public secondary school principals that will inflate waec and neco registration fees. Charge students silly amounts to collect results. And impose various random fees on students. And these monies do end up in the pockets of the principals.

That type of person will still tell you that they built a duplex, bought a range rover with their 68k salary as a principal. Smh. But they won't tell about the money from their "sharp" practices.

Lol, you are assuming he built a standard 3 bedroom flat, that might not be the case, the house might have no windows, or ceiling , maybe it is not even plastered and it is in the interior of the interiormost past of ibadan. But he is definitely not saying the whole truth also. He is getting small stipends somewhere

Though married with a kid, I live a very simple life. Most of the things people enjoy doing don't fascinate me. I don't club, drink nor womanise. I don't spend money on clothes, shoes, perfumes and what have you and yet my monthly running cost is in hundreds of thousands of naira.

If you want to motivate people then tell them the truth before you end up achieving the opposite.

Because it can barely keep your head above waters.

Guys working in my place of work earn 55k and they can't afford to pau school fees, feed their families and still discharge all the utility bills around them effectively. Needless to say, parents of both parties has a quota from there. Afterall to whom much is given, much is also expected.

All of these circling around 55k. These guys have started quoting lamentations and finding a way out cos the question is "how long do I want to keep going in circles while I'm growing older?"

I initially was part of people telling them that no matter how little you earn, you can still save. One day, I took out time to be them and calculated how much 50k can cover if you save 5k. The result saw me using up all 55 and haven't yet covered a quarter of necessities.

I think why people live on N55k a month is due to lack of options, the society is rotten. Inflation in Nigeria makes living on N55k a month impossible for me.

I can hardly survive on N50k per day for myself and people i meet around me on a normal day buying them food and drinks, I'm even thinking of doubling it to N100k per day though sometimes I cut costs and spend N15k per day but it gets me almost nothing.

How do people survive with N55k a month?
Do they not go to restaurants?
Don't they go shopping, clubs, travel?

It may not be possible now with 50k but back then, it was. My Dad was a Secondary school Teacher while my Mum taught in primary school. Both were government schools. Both contributed and built a house in Abia. Tenants live their till date, even former tenants were Nigerian Breweries staff. My parents had no other business except our farm we used to go then.

My father retired from Unilag in 1989, his total annual pay was less than 30k.

His gratuity when he retired was 46k, i need not to tell you the worth and cashflow he is getting from the 46k retirement benefits which he invested well. Coupled with series of good real estate investments he made during his 25 years in service
