I traveled to the US in 2018 and came back after my visit.
Now I’m trying to apply for an F1 visa as I’ve gotten admission for my masters.
The email address I used in 2018 is different from the one I am using now so the system is saying to transfer my application to my old email to prevent errors with multiple accounts. I confirmed that and was asked to send a scanned copy of my passport, which I did.
Is there anyone that has experienced this before? How long did it take them to effect the change? Because I can’t book a date until the change is effected. Thank you.

Yes I experienced similar issue but after I sent my scanned passport with the new email address I want to use, all informations was transferred.

Also, I want to change sponsors. My previous sponsor was not named on my 1-20 and my deficit was put as personal funds. Will it be okay to change sponsors?

Hey guys! I'm having issues paying my SEVIS fee. A friend in the UK has been trying to pay it through Western Union, but it has been unsuccessful. It seems Western union agents in the UK have no idea about Sevis fee. One of them even asked if it isn't a scam. I'm using a friend because I cannot afford the exchange rates these agents and educational companies are giving me. Is it only in the US that Western union payment is possible? My interview is next week Thursday! Please, help!

Ok thank you. So why Mexico, do you feel going back home is risky for an interview?

I have a friend whose wife went to the US to join him with F2 visa and after the wife had spent a year in the US, she had admission into a US university. She had her F1 visa interview in Mexico and she was granted. She didn't come to Nigeria for her F1 visa interview. I believe you can still get people in the US who must have been in your shoes in the past, you can ask them as well.

But how does the person change the SEVIS ID on the us booking portal. The SEVIS ID should be that of the new school.

Please o. Who has taken the train from lagos to Ibadan and Ibadan to Lagos. Kinda confused with the information online. Is the drop off and boarding point Ebute Metta or Yaba.

Since an appointment has already been secured at the embassy, you can't change your school. The appointment page won't let you update and fill in another Sevis ID of the new school you got a better offer from.

I have scheduled an appointment which I didn’t like then I have also rescheduled making it my second time
Can I apply for an emergency request and if granted won’t I have to cancel the rescheduled appointment to select a date

Note that I have rescheduled once which means if I cancel that’s another MRV fee
Or can I ?

If your emergency request is granted, it won't matter if you have rescheduled or not. You'll be able to log in and select a date from the ones available for emergency appointments

Log in to your account and click on the update button. You can edit every information as long as it is not 72hours to your schedule interview date.

For your ds-160 :
Retrieve your old ds-160 form, it'll tell you that this form has been submitted and ask if you want to view the confirmation page or create new one from it, select the later option. A new one will be created with many details from the old one and only very few key information that you have to refill. You can as well make changes anywhere on the new one if you want.
Make sure you write the new number out and update it on your profile.
ps : you can update your ds-160 on your profile as long as it's more than 72 hours to your interview.

For your Sevis fee : go to fmjfee dot com . Check your i901 status, then from there you'll see an option to transfer to a new school.

Also remember to update the necessary details on your visa appointment profile.

I remember trying to change my zip code to a new school after booking appointment and I couldn't. Thankfully it didn't affect my visa interview.
But yours are bigger and more important details, so it might be different in your case. Not certain.

Passport number is the 8 digits number printed on all your passport pages. It is preceded by an alphabet e. g A01234567

Book number is the volume of your passport, either 32 pages or 64 pages. Many of us have 32- page passport.
