We borrow 10B and repay 10B dollars.
South Africa have budget deficit of 6.8%
Kenya has budget deficit of 7.1%
That mean kenya and south africa have similar budget deficit.

AfriqueDuZuid:

That's what I'm saying it's either Kenya will tax its citizens in corporates 50% more

Which will kill corporates, and have mass exodus to neighbors Tz, Uganda, Rwanda and ethiopia

Or you will borrow $10b which is not possible

Or government will lie and say its spent $10b more which they don't have

2018 story

That too old

Even our 2018 figures were still higher than your country current tarred roads network

A 27% tarred road network will give you 29,569km

You are poor in maths, effects of missionary Schools.

So in your head 23% of 72,000km is 29,000km? grin grin

Shackman - it simply not possible to import a car for anything less than 5K USD. 1K usd alone is frieght from Japan to Mombasa. Minimum taxes for cheapest Suzuki is about 1,500k. Just not possible.I used to sell cars - the cheapest I could import then was 4Kusd. Now Uber and all digital taxis have made these small cars very expensive.

Average used 8yr old imported car in kenya is more than 10K usd now.

That's what we call dumping, after all Japan has to get rid off its old cars.

Freight per ton? Freight per 3x6,6x6 or what

go argue with African traveller

Your interchanges are not a match to Ghana's

But in his video I only saw three interchanges, or which Afrikan Traveller are you talking about? As Accra is only having 3 interchanges, Nairobi has more than 50.

Yes it kind of dumping but without developed domestic car market people prefer reliable japanase models;
Cars are transported on RORO ships - well you can squeeze some in container - but generally RORO - mean nearly all cars pay the same freight.
About 1,000usd from Japan to Mombasa inclusive insurance.

You should ask South Africa gov the same question.
South Africa total revenues are 90B.
Your budget is now nearly 140B.
Ask your gov where it will get 50B.
While I ask our gov where it will get 10B with revenues of 22B.

I said average - some of them are more expensive than that. A used Prado will set you for 5M kshs- 50,000usd. Land cruiser it will cost you 70,000usd. Typical Toyota 2.0 engine starts from 20,000usd. SUV - would around 20-30k. German SUV would be 30-40k.

Average - is the standard car or sedan - like Toyota Corrola - 8yr old ex-japan cost more than 10,000K.

But some people import the tiny Uber type cars - that cost average 7-8K usd.

So they are not cheap.

All kenya imported cars have to 1) under 8yrs 2) pass stringent pre-export certification and then 3) you pay 100% taxes - VAT,Excises, import duty.

How many cars does Kenya produce in a year? Less than 2 000 cars right?

Basically what South Africa produce in few hours
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 10:22am On May 02, 2021
On average 15,000 units per year. Mostly trucks - lorries - commercial vehicles - otherwise few people will buy sedan or such. But yes trucks - make business sense - and financing is available.

Actual figures placed it at 27% in 2018

Ministry of Roads and Highways, only 27 per cent are paved.

The paved roads are made up of trunk, feeder and urban with 41 per cent of the total network in good condition.

Mr Kwesi Amoako-Attah, the Minister of Roads and Highways, said this at the second Ghana-Japan High Quality Infrastructure Conference in Accra on Tuesday.

Current figures place it at 40% (40,000km)

Your country is struggling to catch up to the past figures on Ghana, how will it reach how current figures?
