The law enforcement agents can continue with regular patrol and responding to distress calls instead of mounting road blocks for now to forestall breakdown of law and order.Let them not relent.
They should also garner public confidence by ensuring that bail is free and by being more humane to suspects. For some suspects often reported or brought to the stations are innocent. When police starts punishing people who call police just to intimidate their opponents and make them waste their hard earned money for doing nothing,Nigeria will become better .
May we be hopeful into God,all too will pass and we all will be victorious.

Why do I feel like the FG is orchestrating all these to enable the Enemies of South East to infiltrate the region Why do I feel like there is a bigger plan than what the Press is trying to show us with ESN this and ESN that Why do I feel that the Enemies of South East are using this window to perfect their plans to outrun the Region in the event of war outbreak? This is not the time to bash, this is not the time to play politics... There is serious threat facing the Igbo nations which is greater than the 1967's. Why do I feel the folks we think are not planning are busier planning what might be a total annihilation of the Igbo race Umunnem let's wake up... The Igbo nation is currently facing a great risk from those whose sole aim is to commit 2nd genocide on the Igbos.

Please forget the distractions from the West talking about Oduduwa Nation because they are characteristically not ready for any Nationhood especially not at this moment. Forget about the false labeling of same murderous Killers resident up North that are now killing Police in the East as ESN. While I am not here to make case for ESN, I strongly feel there is something not adding up. ESN discussion will be topic for another day.

The Igbos are under siege and the earlier we Igbos realize this, the better. Our Enemies still have unfinished business from the fallout of the 1967. Let's remember the IGWE BU IKE spirit of our people and not take anything for granted.

Lol I came down East to spend few moments and go back to Abuja, but I don't think I'm going back o. Here is actually more conducive for me now. My work involves a lot of writing, so I carry lappy. It wasn't as before where I go de calculate how I will deal with the stupid police wahala on top my gwulagwula laptop.

I just read the source and laughed. Dailytrust is the most untrustworthy news media in Nigeria . I think it's run by those boys that write nonsense fake news on blogs and Facebook.

Which Nigerian media is trustworthy to an average Nigerian? As long as the report doesn't sit well with Nigerians, the media becomes untrustworthy.

We don't need the military or the police to mount any road block in any part Igbo land because we are not at war.

The North are the people that need those tight and numerous road blocks because they are being ravaged by Insecurities.

Igbo land isn't at war and we don't need road blocks. All they do here is to extort the poor masses.

Enough is enough

The struggle for Biafra has nothing whatsoever to do with the govt of Jonathan young stupeed man.

Right from the time I was in jss, I witnessed series of massob movements in anambra all shouting for the right to self determination and freedom.

About 15 years later, it is still the same song.

Biafra is not a movement, neither is it a struggle, it is a consciousness in the mind of any Igbo man. A consciousness that will never die but must be actualized some day.

The trouble is, all them ipob cretins are now in Rivers state, competing for the meagre resources that we have, whilst also perpetrating carnage.

They're not there, no, they are never found in their land. Even before this whole menace by their lord and saviour, the London Prince of biaffraud land, they were never in their land.

If you have been to the southeast you will understand what the Igbo's had to endure in the hands of these monster security agencies. Inasmuch as I'm not Igbo or support violence , I think the Igbo youths have done what they have to do to end the siege.
Whenever I drive through the southeast I wonder if I'm in Sudan due to the multiple checkpoints at every point .

So no Igbo man is a criminal or no1 commits crimes in Igbo land or what?

The police is to maintain law and order bt the security forces are abusing their authorities and causing the people to fight the system.

Our security agencies don’t know to enforce law and order in a state or community u must also follow the law and order not abuse it.

We were begging them to stop extorting us and they were grandstanding.

Fulani security men should not lay siege on our land.

Leave our roads.

Leave our roads, ndi ala!

Unfortunately checkpoints or no checkpoints crimes were on a high side. so it doesn't make a difference. Police obviously care more about their pockets than anyone's safety.

That's how it started in the NE....the Law enforcement was chased off, and the thugs...took over, and the people rejoiced...thinking somehting new was happening....until the thugs came for their food and their children and their wives...

The same thing is happening in the SE....the thugs have taken over, and everyone is happy. Till the thugs institute thug law....

Yes, the Police and Army have been unjust....but the new powerbrokers are going to be worse.

The main issue is that in Nigeria we are all looking for a hero that would come and put things in place...forgetting that democracy is all about doing the hard work of changing your self and your leaders.

But Nigerians prefer to look for a hero, or for Sharia in the North, or for new country in the South, yet, they won't do the hard work of demcracy. They won't vote good leaders, they support bad leaders, and mock those who refuse to be part of the chosing of bad leaders.

And they expect miracles.

Well, I don't like the police...but driving them off means inviting the rule of thug. And that is a harsh lesson people in the NE are learning. Pray the SE don't have to learn that lesson.

P.S The Bakassi Boys were initally the good guys. We know how that ended....innocent people being held in concentration-like camps. For nothing.

You're indirectly asking for the status quo, right? Where Police will be killing the people, while Fulanis will kill anybody standing up against them.

Igbos aren't animals. They won't turn against their people, because they know all these people involved.

My brother I wonder oo I'm here in the East and I don't know what they mean by everywhere being Ghost town lol, everyone is going about their daily affairs without fear or anything like that,
I noticed no more police and army check points like before, and no more extortions from police army etc.

I drove from Ebonyi to Abia. Then pass through Akwa lbom back to Rivers.

No check point in most major check points.
Then I begin to wonder.....

I guess it encourages investment and helps in multiplying us, right?

You make a good point about possibly bad outcomes. However you solution is rather unrealistic.

Police is not controlled by the states, so electing “better people” is not going to do anything.

Actually there was a story about a former Governor of Anambra State, Mbadinuju who made vigorous efforts to stop these extortion centres. The police big wigs countered his efforts by mounting a check point almost right in front of the Government House.

It should be a no brainer that policing should be decentralized in a country as vast and diverse as this one. We shouldn’t just have state police but also LGA and municipal police.
