Thanks very much for the Information. I will apply for MSc program instead. I have about 3.5 years related work experience and my HND is distinction. But I just finished the HND program and it was PT. Hope this won't have any effect on the admission decision.

Unfortunately, your dependant cannot come for an undergraduate program. Even if you have post study visa when you graduate, you cannot also bring her because the current rule say you must bring your spouse to the UK before you graduate to be eligible for dependant visa

SOLUTION

Apply for an MSc program in the area you have work experience in.

If you have HND or Third class, try Sheffield Hallam, Roehampton and other schools that accept 2.2.

You MUST HAVE WORK EXPERIENCE IN YOUR PROPOSED FIELD.

Follow I and emmaze2000 advice on page 252.

Good afternoon!

Please I want to ask if it is possible for a Tier 4 dependent to switch to Student Visa for MSc without leaving the UK. If YES, is he/she going to show home office only maintenance fund or maintenance fund with tuition balance after making deposit, assuming the dependent has been in the UK for less than 12 months...

A person with Tier 4 dependant visa can study full time. The person can work full time also. Tier 4 dependant visa is very good. The person can even switch to Tier 2 visa if they see suitable sponsor.

You don't need to apply for student visa.

No effect. Don't just mention anything part time or full time.

Just say you have HND Distinction in your proposed course. The course must be related to your 3.5 work experience. Collect a good reference letter from your line manager at work. Write an excellent personal statement.

Its a simple portal anyone can use. After completing your info, you will be asked to add the university you want them to send your applications to. Also there is a fee of £20 to apply to a school , you will add £6 if you want to apply to 2 -5 institutions

Thank you for your response. I would do the needful.

Yes he can. Before COVID, it was impossible.

Follow the rule below:

https://www.gov.uk/student-visa/switch-to-this-visa

Switch to this visa
You may be able to switch to a Student visa if you already have permission to be in the UK.

You cannot switch to this visa if you have one of the following visas:

a visit visa
a short-term student visa
a Parent of a Child Student visa
a seasonal worker visa
a domestic worker in a private household visa
leave outside the immigration rules
If you have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, you do not need to apply for a visa.

Eligibility
To switch to a Student visa you must:

be in the UK
have an unconditional offer of a place on a course with a licensed student sponsor - shown by your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
If you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for less than 12 months, you’ll need to prove you have enough money to support yourself in the UK.

Apply to switch your dependants’ visas at the same time as you switch your own visa. If you cannot apply at the same time, your partner or child can switch their visas at a later date - this must be before their current visa expires.

Ok! Thank you. I’m just asking for the couple because they don’t want to be on post study route at the same time.

The only day that matter is the day you submit the application online. .....

so you can monitor during that week to give you an idea (and plan accordingly) and after you apply, the next day go check what was the rate of the date of application. That would tell you what will be used

It won't be the same rate throughout the day but the average is taken by the system and the next day you can see what that value is

Noted thanks

affidavit cause WAEC don't do correction of age any longer

WAEC still does correction of age sir.

we must defeat every impossibility spirit by Gods grace. I like what justwise said in one of the questions asked by someone, he said don't believe in they said"..omo this was how I also believed my waec won't be corrected then. until I drove down to meet them got it done at ogba.

See bro, waec result is one of the equivalents to your doing IELTS..and the implication is that your school will collate it with your transcripts, certificate and send to the Home office. The home office normally queries the school why the age difference. Some allow affidavit but can't be like original which speaks for itself because your school will need to be carrying extra affidavit to your result. If they made mistake to forward only result to the home office your application could be delayed. Every student who is enrolling on Uk schools is having their documents sent to the homes office for their visa certification and records purposes.

Last year November sir. The issue of age discrepancies is common with us in Nigeria. Both waec, University transcript is not left behind. Although some schools don't take this serious, but some few most high ranking schools in UK will ask for any possibility of resolving your age issue.

Hello,
I recently got a conditional offer to study 1 year Top-up degree in university of Sunderland with my HND. I want to know if I can go along with my spouse as dependent as it is an undergraduate program. Also, we're just preparing to go for registry for our marriage certificate. Hope this won't have any effect on the application.
If you have a good number of years of work experience, you can get a Masters admission with ur HND (check the thread for Schools that accept third class, most of them should give you admission . Make sure your sop stands out).

You can't apply for a dependant as an undergraduate.

Proceed with your registry. The certificate and pictures should fly. You can however apply first, then do for your wife after your VISA drops.

All the best.
