Police personnel used to lobby to be posted to SE because of the unchecked level of extortion in that axis.

How the table has turned.

We say enough of the brutality and killings of our youths in Alaigbo.

No more extortions, no more killings because the days of using our youths as shooting practice are long gone.

So don't cry more the bereaved.

There is a theory in developmental communications. It has to do with learning from the mistakes and successes of other developed countries to fast track development. But as a shithole we lack that ability for critical thinking to use available methods that have been tested and proven. Democracy has gone beyond this your argument of using hours upon hours of ploddingthankless work. Countries have spent hours and hours of work and have realised the simplest ways of achieving results without wastage of time, resources and people. They have told us that without peace, justice and fairness, democracy can never work. They have told us that tyranny can never succeed. they have said power truly belongs to the people. They have said peaceful protests must be allowed, if not anarchy would come. They have said for democracy to strive, the people must at all time have a choice in any union, and the referendum and self determination must be allowed. They have said corruption must be killed or it will kill the people. They equally said, quality education must be available for all. There must be freedom of speech, life, association, e.t.c. You don't expect democracy to work in this country when all known tenets of democracy are abused by those who ought to uphold it.

God bless you. You will live long. The ediot you are chatting with does not really care about what happens to the people in the east, he only cares about his useless Nigeria as a parasite. You all can die as long as the ediot is concerned nothing concern am

There are 37 Checkpoints on benin ore and benin bypass. Police, army, anti-cult, customs, frsc. Yet people are kidnapped daily. Last year december herdsmen shut down the road to kidnap people. For 4hrs nobody moved forward. Surprisingly, the army and policemen refused to move forward, they remained with stranded commuters. So what really is the essence of police checkpoint.

We don't need the military or the police to mount any road block in any part Igbo land because we are not at war.

The North are the people that need those tight and numerous road blocks because they are being ravaged by Insecurities.

Igbo land isn't at war and we don't need road blocks. All they do here is to extort the poor masses.

That's how it started in the NE....the Law enforcement was chased off, and the thugs...took over, and the people rejoiced...thinking somehting new was happening....until the thugs came for their food and their children and their wives...

The same thing is happening in the SE....the thugs have taken over, and everyone is happy. Till the thugs institute thug law....

Yes, the Police and Army have been unjust....but the new powerbrokers are going to be worse.

The main issue is that in Nigeria we are all looking for a hero that would come and put things in place...forgetting that democracy is all about doing the hard work of changing your self and your leaders.

But Nigerians prefer to look for a hero, or for Sharia in the North, or for new country in the South, yet, they won't do the hard work of demcracy. They won't vote good leaders, they support bad leaders, and mock those who refuse to be part of the chosing of bad leaders.

And they expect miracles.

Well, I don't like the police...but driving them off means inviting the rule of thug. And that is a harsh lesson people in the NE are learning. Pray the SE don't have to learn that lesson.

P.S The Bakassi Boys were initally the good guys. We know how that ended....innocent people being held in concentration-like camps. For nothing.

Bro, I've said it before, IGBO PEOPLE DON'T HAVE COMMON SENSE.

Stop trying to reason with them.

They act first then think later, and when they finally think, their narcissism won't let them admit the failures of their actions.

How somebody cannot know that killing and chasing away the police will INSTANTLY lead to an exponential rise in crime, I've no idea.

It's a lie! A very big lie! A friend invited us for a wedding in Owerri last week. I was committed in getting hotel rooms for guest coming to Owerri. For 2 weeks I was going from hotel to hotel and you know what

Almost all the hotels are all booked!

I mean some people have been there for months.

I have this feeling that something bad is cooking. It is possible fg are behind this attacks in order to pave way for the infiltration of the zone by fulani killer squad for jihad against the igbos. We must all stay woke.

Bro, as Biafrans, we need to arm ourselves now. I feel it in my soul something dangerous is cooking. We are only lucky now because God gave us Nnamdi Kanu who helped to expose the plot of the jihadists against us. These killings of security in the east is giving me concerns. If they are not being carried out by allies, then it could be plot by the jihadists to breach and halt state security in the area so that they can strike unhindered. You know, if state security around, there would be fingers pointing at them for aiding the jihadists so they intend to excuse themselves for the jihadists to strike. I am not comfortable. We should not cheer unknown gun men yet. They could be boko haram working with state security to ambush us.

Thank you. I can not stress it enough but we all must be very vigilant. Where I am, the influx of northerners in the last few years is very unprecedented and scary. The few times I used their services and had close discussions with them, some of them appeared to be men in mission. They boast they own Nigeria. The arrogance is very evident. It is either they say that because bubu is their brother or it could be their sinister plans. Only time will tell. Until bubu leaves office, you should never be caught unprepared.

Whatever they are planning is going to consume them.

It's not by force to be in the same country, all we have ever wanted is referedum.

Igbos were only waving their flags and asking for their country but the government used them for shooting practice.

The marriage is not working and we want out, how is that too hard to ask??

Whatever the government are planning will reach them too.

What daily trust is saying is the truth. If the security men are not back on the road, those crazy touts will take advantage of the situation. In fact they are already taking advantage of if, I was robbed yesterday evening. Three guys on a bike attacked me from behind on express way with o long knife and went away with my bag containing my laptop.
Many people don't know the implications of security men off the road completely it is another dimension of insecurity altogether.

Thanks for your common sense approach, and sorry for your loss.

I always tell people they underestimate what they have in Nigeria.

You have grown men saying ignorant stuff like ''the police don't do anything except extort money at checkpoints''.

It's just pure foolishness.

That is the height of ignorance. The police patrol the streets at night searching for armed robbers.

It is not your flimsy gate or fence that keeps robbers from raiding you.

It is the presence of the police.

It is the police that keep the masses safe from armed robbers.

Even the mere presence of a policeman or police checkpoint is a deterrent to armed robbers and criminals.

To say ''oh they extort money from motorists, so let's get rid of them'' is the ultimate case of throwing away the baby with the bath water.

One thing a dunce like you will soon understand is that there are degrees of anarchy, and you just pressed the top red button by driving away the police.

There are countless instances of this happening elsewhere, and it never ends well.

Keep being stupid.
