Why don't we take to things seriously in this country anymore.

Me that has been learning tiny C for about 3 weeks now yet functions and pointers still Dey give me headache.

Most times you would need to learn some other technologies not only one language.
There are more php jobs in Nigeria sha, however, some guys are balling with django either as a freelancer or working abroad.
Python also excels in data science, automation and scripting.

My dear brother, I didn't say that python is bad, I myself started with python before going into JavaScript, the job availability is night and day. Python confuses people, it does everything which is also a problem itself.

In web development, JavaScript is God. Who employs Data scientists or machine learning experts in Nigeria?

Very correct. I love it's simple syntax especially when solving algorithmic problems, but for Web development (My passion), I'd rather stick other tools.

You people should stop complaining about the one day training thing.

There is nothing wrong with it.

The one day training is to spark their interest and introduce them to programming.

In a year time, the teachers will still remember they took a programming course, and if they know about programming and it's good sides it will be easier to convince and influence parents that's its okay for their children to be a programmer and also encourage students to go into programming.

As funny as it might sound, there are some people in Lagos who has never heard about programming.
