True caller will bring out the name most people saved that number as...if its mtn 1 it will display as mtn 1 if its sportybet agent...it will diaplay as sportybet agent

I just got scammed today. 120,000 moved from my account after i funded my newly registered sportybet account with 2,000 naira.

It all started yesterday night when i saw and an ads on Facebook about get fixed game and pay after winning. I clicked on the whatsapp link and i was directed to the scammer whatsapp platform. His profile name on whatsapp is Frank obinna.

I told him i am interested and we started chatting this morning. He asked me to register a sportybet account and fund it with 2k and above. I registered and funded it with 2k but the 2k was pending. I told him, he said not to worry, that it will reflect later. He then send a link which contains sportybet url and ask me to click on it, fill the form and click on 80 - 200 odds. Which I did.
After doing that, i was taken to sportybet homepage. Two minutes later i got a debit of 20,000 naira. Immediately i got another debit of 100,000 naira.

I quickly went to the bank and ask them to disable my ATM card

the person sent you his own fake sportybet website where you entered your ATM card details. Sorry

It is either I use my mobile bank App to deposit or is use USSD I don't deposit with ATM card.

God bless nairaland for information like this .I almost fell a victim of this scammer.Yesterday some one chatted me on Whatsapp that with 100naira he can make 35k for me and I will give him 10k out of it.He send me sportybet link to sign up and deposit 100 naira fortunately for me I don't have money in any of my bank account.I had to transfer 150naira to one of my account and deposit 100 naira to sporty bet.After that he send me another link to activate my bonus unfortunately they didn't send the code.Tyis morning another person chatted me again that with 1000maira he can mk 250000naira for me on sportybet he asked me if I HV an account I told him I open one yesterday he said ok .he now send me another link for bonus activation when I filled the form they send me snet code and now told him I HV received the code he now said I should send him the code.hmmmmm that was how I now started suspecting something is wrong so I asked him why should I send him d code he said that's wat he will use to activate the game and play.I refuse to send it and he kept calling me .I now decided to do a background check on sportybet and I came across this thread.Meanwhile wen I deposited d 100 naira the first guy ask me to I received a text from my bank that my transaction failed due to insufficient balance I received that text twice and they suggested that I should take a loan that will expire before 12noon.what save me is that I don't HV money in my account.i really appreciate God

I'm sorry if I am wrong but Im beginning to think there is a connection between GTB and Sportybet with all these fraudulent activities. My brother's GTB account was debited 300k (all the money he saved through thick and thin from his service year which ended in March) without even having an account with them and no one is coming up to help the poor boy retrieve his money

Just ask sportybet for the accounts details the money is withdrawn to, then get a police and effc report, and go to the bank for all the accounts details of the withdrawal, I mean get next to kin names and contact, mother's names and all contacts connecting to that accounts.

Sportybet has become synonymous with bank debit fraud...I remember my account was used a s pick up from someone I knew not.twice I saw 200k deposited in my UBA account each midnite. .I usually report to my bank n they will rectify it and my acct stays normal..it was when I remove my bank and card details from the sportybet platform I stop getting the pickup alerts.
As for those being duped, you must have drop your details somewhere or you left your card details on the sportybet site after using it to deposit funds

My Advice:
Never click on any link sent to you promising you bonus or pay after win bet

Never disclose your username name on any platform or support room if not the main sportybet suport email or customer care

Never leave you card details on the site after you deposite with it...instead make use of there USSD channels to fund your account.

Dont use your atm pin as same thing as the sportybet withdrawal pin

For those using GTB, the fraud comes from the angle more..don't ever click continue when any GTpay link is sent to your phone asking you to fund your account. Leif you happen to click continue, your name n.a. sorry.instead click cancel. This stuff will always appear, always click cancel

I am highly confused and now I am reading here on the platform that they open an Opay account with the person name and d fraudulent Opay account number. how to you make withdrawals and transfers to your sportybet account? Is it with the app or your did you link your atm to the account.

The transfer was done through another person gtapp that I have never see,spoken or met with before in my life unfortunately it was a Navy man. He said the money was pushed from his app to the sportybet account and when I regained access to the account I saw numerous transactions that was carried out on the account through the help of sportybet customer service. The money was pushed into an Opay Account, I have d account now, but Opay customer service said it can only release it based on investigation now I am reading on this platform that Opay can be opened with a sportybet account owner's name but differ number. I am very confused, because I personally have reported d case to CID Panti and I want them to investigate it, if they now get there now and see my name on that fraudulent Opay Account what will I do. bro, the guy hacked your sporty bet account and probably knew the pass codes of the navy man's app. So to conceal his identity he transferred the money to your sporty bet and used it to withdraw to opay. This same thing happened to me sometime ago. With my atm. Linked to my sportybet. You just have to follow the investigation. He probably withdrew the money from the opay with an atm.

Your sportybet account was not hacked. You probably linked your ATM card to a fake (lookalike) sportybet website. This usually happens when criminals trick you with getting some kind of bonus. You must have unknowingly authenticated your bank to grant the criminals access to debit your bank account anytime they like through an OTP (one time pin/password). If you check the web URL of the link you clicked, you will surely discover that it is not the real website.
