Why didn’t SAF speak out against the glazers? Gill?

We Fvcking replaced a “GOAT” player with Micheal Owen and gave him the no.7 shirt.. Jesus Christ!

SAF has his own contribution to the rot. The “there’s no value in the market “ talk was to defend the Glazers.

He probably felt he should defend the new owners because the former owners sold the club because of the row he had with them. When he realized the mess the club was in he quickly left the sinking ship

you just the know the Maguire propaganda was real when in his first match he was given the MOTM award in a game we won 4-0 with Black Ronaldo scoring twice and Pogba giving two assists.

The bold is ironic. Success breeds more money so they are easily interwoven. How many clubs in England have outspent us on transfers over the last 10yrs?
It's not about the amount of money spent but the quality of the signings. Imagine, signing a right back that can't attack for 50 million, A midfielder that can't pass for 54 million and a defender that can't head the ball properly for 80 million and you want to win trophies cheesy cheesy.

Pathetic!

What you're failing to grasp is longevity.
If I give pep £1b today, I know that from now till 5yrs time(and more) my team will still be youthful, play attractive football and win major trophies year in year out. All these without having issues with almost all my squad

Tell me, can you say same about Mou?.
Will Mou give you that after 2 seasons sef? Why then should I trust Mou with my £1bn
You have a point tho.

All the top 6 teams have spent better than United in the last decade, except Arsenal. And include Leicester in that list. Go and check. It’s not about throwing money at anything and everything.

When City was building a formidable squad, the Glazerts were relying on an ageing squad to keep delivering the goods. And when they should be wise in the market they were foolish and then set a precedent of being foolish.
I didn't ask for better. I asked how many clubs have outspent United in England over the last 10yrs? Just one City. So don't even act like the owners have not spent enough on players.

He is past his prime.

Pep now is among the best of the current crop.

They talk about it as if finding round pegs for round holes is a Herculean task.

Man City owners don’t know much about football and winning trophies but they are smart enough to bring in people who have built structures that have brought in trophies. And they went for them. Pep Gustfiola, Txiki, etc. They also bought players, broke numerous transfer records etc so as to create the atmosphere and structure of perrenial winners.

Watch how they’ll buy a correct striker for Pep when Aguero leaves.

It’s clear that they want the trophies. And soon enough , watch how the money will start trooping in.

With United, it’s the opposite. Money comes first so they don’t care about other things. The people at the top who are responsible for structure and player management haven’t changed much. Murtough, the newly appointed football director or so is rumored to fvck up Haaland’s transfer to United couple of years ago by being negligent and careless. Look at him being rewarded with a new improved role. What does Fletcher have on his CV to justify the role they just handed him?

But you fans want success. When the owners want money. They don’t care about success at all. Ole and underperforming players are a symptom of the system. They pay unnecessary big bucks when it doesn’t merit it and when the situation rises to spend a bit more and achieve success, they fold up.

The only thing keeping United is the brand that SAF worked tirelessly to build for decades. And that brand is quietly fading. When Man City takes over and nobody gives a fvck about United again, these people will sell the club and move onto the next victim.

Always on point my bro!

This is why it’s good to have a quality coach, they spot technical players and not jam body. In football, technicality before strength and physique. You see Bruno performing because he is very technical with the ball. Pogba was mismanaged if not he would’ve being consistent.

How much did City sign KdB? Mahrez? Aguero? Etc.

That they outspent United doesn’t mean that they were outrageous.

United started throwing money at players anyhow. Players who have no intention of playing at United. Why won’t everyone take them as mugus?

I think the type of players mou use for his tactics are no longer playing football. Mou tactics rely strength, pace and counter attack and only average team want to play that way now.

Pep tactics revolutionized modern day football I think.

This is funny.

When City was spending , they were penny pinching. When City started winning titles and they fell back, they started spending money without sense. And when they secured top 4 they stop spending money again. And then they repeat the process.

Spending money without sense to get UCL football.

How does spending money without sense bring about success and trophies?

That 2009 transfer window will always be a funny one, Madrid were desperate for Ronaldo and were bent on offloading Sneijder and Arjen Robben.

Sneijder and Robben ffs! they pocketed the 80millions and bought Owen on a free. Jesu!
Actually it was Valencia that was bought as a Ronaldo replacement, not that it made sense though.

His style doesn’t work that much now, he still hasn’t come to terms with that,

that’s why to me SAF will always be the GOAT manager, he always adapts.

Pep tactics revolutionized modern day football I think.
that can be argued, Spain were already playing tiki taka with Luis Aragones.

Pep though really brought it to limelight.

False, Stones was an exceptional “Ball Playing cb” his defensive game though was average at best and he was rightfully dropped.. and was labeled a flop then..

Man ironed his deficiencies and fought his way up the pecking order, He earned it.

No shortcut like “because he was the most expensive CB, he must play”

Shaw’s story is similar to John stones, Fvcking Brendan Williams was keeping him out of the team, he had to rediscover himself and work his way back to the starting XI.

Maguire on the hand has played the most minutes of any outfield player in the league since making his debut.

If he plays nonsense, he starts.

his hand is broken, he starts.

he just came out from prison, he starts.

Pray tell.. how’s Maguire’s case similar to that of stones and Shaw? He’s very much similar to LVG’s “My captain must play” Wayne Rooney.

With John stones you know he can play with ball at his feet. even then people were still not convinced with his defensive side of the game and it showed on his first season with Man city.

Shaw was a speed star and even earned himself a place in the PL team of the season playing for Southampton.

Maguire isn’t known to be a genius ball playing Cb that was just a narrative the press and propaganda created and millions swallowed it,

he only knew how to move with the ball and was dominant in air, that’s what he was good at,
and we are seeing it here in Man United.

defensively he’s average, people always say he’s good defensively but that’s just to make themselves feel good about the 80millions.

He’s average and the fee we paid for him is comedy level.

He’s 26-27.. what you are seeing now is his prime.

Stones was exceptional what? After one season? If he wasn't English, we won't even be hearing his name like that. Please there was nothing exceptional about Stones.

At bold, those two statements contradict themselves. How are you comfortable with the ball and can move with it and play passes without being a very good ball playing CB? What's there to do again?

Di Maria for 60 wasn’t a bad deal, he just doesn’t want to come here and Woodward somehow manage to become blind, deaf and dumb to that.

Everybody's got some power of insight looking back now.. If any of Owen, Valencia, Di Maria, Depay or Sanchez worked out, this would be a moot discussion about 2009 and we'll be talking of how shrewdly we replaced Ronaldo.

He is not getting England call up for a reason even when he is playing for Man U. The guy is not a modern day RB. He is not expressive with the ball, just tackles like old school defenders. I remember then, our coach then always shout at us when we chest ball like that.
