This is not true. You don’t know there are websites that keep a tab on these things. Grealish has played only one match on the right wing in his career and that was about 3 years ago in the Championship.

It would be madness to spend big money on a player only to attempt to shoehorn him into a role he has never really played before. It would be doubly crazy when there are other options of similar quality ( and most likely way better on the right) who have actually played that role.

Mourinho inherited a team that finished in round of 16 for 8 consecutive seasons and he got them to 3 semifinals in a row.

The next manager inherited a team that was one penalty shootout kick away from a CL final - the next manager inherited a much better team than Mourinho did and won the CL. The next manager also spent more.

Zidane also inherited a team that already won CL so winning it again was also inevitable. Neither Ancelotti or Zidane inherited a team that hadn’t gotten past R16 in 8 seasons.

The bulk of the development and the winning mentality was instilled by Mourinho. This is why Florentino Perez can’t be grateful enough to Jose. He knows fully well there would never have been the La Decima or the subsequent CL victories without Mourinho.

Compare that to Pep that inherited a Bayern team that won a TREBLE the previous 2 months and failed to get that same team into a final(never mind winning it) for 3 consecutive seasons. All Pep needed to do was to maintain the status quo and he failed repeatedly.

Fast forward to Man City. Pep inherited a team that were CL semi finalists. All Pep needed to do after $1 billion spent is to push them one step further and he was only able to do so after 5 different attempts. If Man City weren’t small timers(no champions league trophy in history), they would have sacked Pep by now.
