Just saw May 5th for (2020 AFS) $0.05 and May 13th for (2021Q1) 2.5 cents.

It looks like the dividends is quite low. It is around 10 naira if my calculation is correct. All these claim of paying in USD is probably to put a wool over our head.

It's N20.512 base on the exchange rate (410.24 to $1) they posted yesterday, the June payment will be half of that if they use same conversion rate.

It doesn't work that way sir. There is no one who can say in a full year, he or she doesn't get anything else apart from his or her salary. In the workplace, people who earn least are often tipped by few generous bosses. The tips usually mean nothing to those giving it, but to those receiving it, the money means a lot to them, so they put it into something else. Such people are very, very frugal. They make the most of opportunities. You and I may always feel, we have so and so qualifications and look down on what we currently earn, just imagine what people are saying about N50k now. They don't think like that. Many of us cannot imagine buying houses or lands in certain locations because they are far below our status, at least that's what some of us think, these category of people go farther away. They buy the land at almost a give away. You go to Superstores to buy your food and allied products, they wait for the next oja or eke market, Mile 12, Ile Epo etc. They are not as distracted as we are.. when they see N1k free money, they immediately keep somewhere for about 5 blocks on that land. In 20 years, while you and I are still waiting to get a kind of property in a choice location, development already located where they bought such properties, and we start wishing we acted when they did.

In my place of work, virtually all our drivers have their houses, but very, very few senior offices do.

Life is i

Interesting. I love this. Big men status is like a curse to some people which is why they haven't had any tangible property or investment to themselves other than their luxurious cars, clothes and perfumes.

Why I said this is nothing but when it comes to house, investment and some other important things. They have this mindset of having bulk funds before going for it. Let me tell you guys this story of a close friend dad's boss

His dad was sick that year, he wasn't able to go to work and this was a man that his absence anywhere will be feeled as he was a funny, jovial and kind man. Never a dull moment kind of man. They didn't see him at work for some days, his boss was like the sickness would be a very serious one for this man not to come as he doesn't play with work.
That's how his boss payed a visit to him at home. That visit was a life changing point for the boss to have owned several houses in his life till today.

You know what? The boss was surprised at the very nice and beautiful house the man constructed with a SALARY OF #47000. When he got well and resumed work. The boss called him asked him several times if he actually built the house while working in the company and he gave a YES answer several times and gave a run down of how he's able to do it over the years. How they parked into the house with one room only built and they were gradually building the other rooms and general building.

It's after the discussion the boss asked him to get a land which was gotten for him. In two years, the boss house was completed and such a beautiful edifice. Boss salary was around 300k plus. Boss mentality was you need to have the bulk of the building funds before attending buying the land or land can't be gotten that cheap in an average gradually developing area.

With the gradual building mentality, the boss owns 3 houses in that street. Area am talking about is IYANA ILOGBO before ifo.

So, people are building with meagre funds. GO LOOK FOR YOUR OWN!

Hello was making research on Nursing Scholarship in Australia and I saw this your post. Please I have a B.Sc in Geography but I want to switch to Nursing as well. I have been doing my research and I discovered it is possible to switch cos some Univeristies in Australia have Nursing programs for Graduates from other disciplines. E.g I saw one that does M.Sc Nursing (Graduate Entry).

Please how did you do yours and how did you get scholarship. Also i need your advice on my path and how best to go about getting admission in Australia.
I would also like to reach u to ask some questions if u don't mind. My Whatsapp is on my signature below.

Also I see you are searching for funding, look at the picture below. I found them on Instagram. Their office should be in Lagos. You might find them helpful.
Anticipating your reply.

@emmanuelewumi. I like the picture quote: Strife to make money, live below your means, use extra money to make more money then repeat consistently. Prudent is the key and That brings me to my story.

I felt I needed to upgrade my car so I did. Anytime I'm driving it, I'm always super cautious in the hold ups because of the King of the roads, keke n the danfos, I don't behave edgy like this while driving my former car, I told my wife it seems I'm not financially fit to use this car because I'm overly careful while driving it, hate how I do scream don't hit me oo ,so I put it up for sale.

To my surprise it was sold withing two weeks with additional profit of 250k. Then I say to myself this seems like a business, I ordered for two more of the same brand ,park them in the compound then post the ads, boom barely three weeks both are sold with up to 650k profit, I've sold 12 in the course of eight months as I only do this with my spare time ,I never knew nigeria invest in automobile this much.

Note I only buy this same brand but the top notch n irresistible ones and someone somewhere is always willing to add 2/300k to get them back from me in no distant time. I bought dangote commercial paper some months back and it will take about 6 months to get 750k on that investments.

So if you can't afford or sustain a lifestyle discard it, also be open minded to possibilities around you.

Post ads on where pls? No car stand?

This was the last comment this resident detective made on nairaland on the 30th of April which incidentally coincides with the day the young chap in Uyo killed a young girl seeking for a job. No comment from him since then.

I want to believe laxyoot has gone to join the investigating team because this his silence de deaf me.

Meanwhile, we should all be careful because some people are just here to profile individuals or try to make you give away information about yourself, if you see the displayed picture of the suspected chap accused of the crime, nothing will make you suspect the guy can even hurt a fly not to talk of taking a human life.

5 Financial Pitfalls Entrepreneurs Should Avoid When Starting A Business

1. Merging Business and Personal Accounts

Not Having Separate Business and Personal Accounts is one of the recipes for failure in business. Every penny your business earns shouldn't go directly to you if you're invested in the growth of your company and building a stronger future for yourself.

Owning separate bank accounts will also allow for a more accurate picture and assessment of your business’s financial health by preventing an overlap between what you personally earn and spend, and what the business's revenue and operational costs are.

Separating your business and personal accounts promotes a very different way of thinking about how your business factors into your life.

2. Having Unrealistic Financial Projections
Projections made without due diligence done might be the undoing of the business. Data exists for a reason and business owners who ignore them might be setting up their business for failure. Entrepreneurs should ensure they have the right data and extensive research done to plan accordingly and make adjustments when necessary.

Setting realistic financial projections for your new business involves doing market research, getting your prices right and leaving room for factors that can affect the economy.

3. Failing to Budget
The popular adage “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” comes to play in full force here. There are certain portions of the business that can be winged, but your finances and budget aren’t one of those. Hence it is important that the budget of the business is built catering for the workings of the business(estimated revenue, fixed costs, variable costs, one-time expenses and a profit and loss statement) and they should be adhered to.

4. Overestimating Future Revenue
The tried and true advice to never count your eggs before they hatch is timeless financial wisdom. While it is great to be positive, you should open your mind to changes. We all experienced 2020 and the changes that came along with it, what's important is to be open to adapt when change happens. Optimism is a great trait to have, however it should not clad your critical thinking like an entrepreneur.

(C) NN

The last pitfall I'll be rounding off this series on is:

5. Not Investing in Bookkeeping
Your business finance needs an impersonal and skilled approach, it is important for business owners to invest in their bookkeeping. The need for accurate records when attending to tax purposes, securing loans, handling employees' payment and vendors on time, financial tracking reiterates the importance of bookkeeping. Unkempt books not only leaves room for loopholes in the business's finances but also says a lot about this entrepreneur's character.
Ignoring your books isn’t the way to ensure your business’s financial health is intact.

Keep your money in dollars instead of changing it to naira and investing in tbills, any devaluation made on naira will wipe out whatever interest you earned on tbills and will will even put you on a lost, if the volume of your dollars is big you can invest in first bank dollar commercial paper or ask your bank of any dollar portfolio you can invest in.

And don't tell me to stop talking about what I don't know when I clearly know more than you do on this matter.
Every business has highs and lows, yes. But you should know the term "high and low" is very relative.
In my business,I might experience highs and lows in the sense that trading was slow(bad market),losing prodyct/damage during haulage( which the transporter pays for anyways),delay of arrival of product, trans territory sale,etc...
But there is never a day I will buy something N1,000 and wake up one morning to find its price at N700 and worse still,I can't control it in anyway and I just have to sit like a sitting duck and just "HOPE".
That to me is another form of dementia grin
Anyways ,to each his own.
