After watching the Arsenal match yesternight, I expect United to skin Villarreal, but it’s a final, a win is enough.

However, Arsenal were simply unlucky. The balls wouldn’t just enter.

I watched the full match, Arsenal were unlucky but were completely out of their depth, their season depends on this match yet they put in such a dispirited performance with zero urgency.

I don't know if its Emery or this Villareal side is dogshit. Some of their key players include Etienne Capoue, Justin Foyth, Coqeline all who are EPL bottom-team level. They also have past-it players like Dani Perejo, Paco Alcacer and Carlos Bacca, and a 36-year Old Raul Albiol as key defender. Their poor quality showed over the 2 legs versus Arsenal, Arteta was just inept to take advantage. I expect us to breeze past them with Pogba and Bruno in Midfield.

Ian Wright said earlier this season Arteta will win the league with our squad undecided

Potential Chelsea vs Manchester United Super Cup clash in the coffers.

Wouldn’t want to face those Shekpites in their current form but a lot can happen during the off-season.

I dont want to see them, anywhere near Super Cup. Pep will humiliate them.

Yes anything less than a 4 unreplied goals scoreline is a defeat.

grin grin grin

Any decent EPL team which is not naive Arsenal will make light work of Villareal.

I believe we'll beat them but it's a final and their coach has a healthy history with this competition. If you think it's going to be that easy, you'll need to think again.

With his healthly history he was trashed 4-1 by Arsenal. But like you said, its a final and everyone will be charged up. I am personally not even bothered about the outcome of the final.

Pep is obviously a better coach than Olé, so if he uses players better, it’s quite clear.

However, take note that Pep has no patience with underperforming players or those he deems doesn’t fit his style of play.

Fred won’t be at this club if Pep was coach and he dropped those poor performances earlier. Nolito is a good example.
Nolito came in at around 30 years. While not everyone will succeed under very good managers, Nolito is not a good example for me

I'm not the one complaining about City and all their world class players. I have never done that. But ask those that do to do so and Torres and Jesus will definitely be mentioned

I never said we don't have quality, for the Mcfred position, pogba always holds on to the ball too much and gets easily dispossessed in that position putting us under pressure.
Matic has become too slow, except we play a low block, but on a high line, imagine there is a counter and you have him, Maguire and lindelof as the repairing unit of defense(I can't even imagine that).
VDB in there always seems to be on the move, hardly holds on to the ball, last time he played there he offered little to nothing defensively.
I don't like the Mcfred combo, but none of them can be the standing DM alone with another pogba-VDB like midfielder.

For telles, he defensive lapses has always been there, even before he was brought this was complained about.

Ole doesn't seem like he is willing to take risks (you and I know why), but at least this bench players have seen his style of management, they should take any opportunity that presents itself!!!!
Henderson for all the shouts, took his chances when they came.

What does VDB really offer to this team?
I watched Walker at Tottenham and now at City, you'd agree his brainfarts moments has reduced or isn't on show again because Pep took time to coach him. When he first joined, I remember Pep saying he relies more on his Pace than brain and as time past, Walker is now more composed and less hurried on the ball, that's more to do with good coaching.

Aguero had to tweak his game to fit in at some point due to the demands of Pep.

Mahrez just didn't take his chance, his all round play has improved and that's down to good coaching. Even KDB's game has evolved, he can now play as a CM and even dovetail as a false 9 as against CAM he was vested in before now...

I look at VDB and I am surprised that a player who played as a CM several times at Ajax seems completely lost at United. Those runs he is making, he made them at Ajax to the delight of most football fans so, why are things looking different here? It's not like he was a ball hog at Ajax, he played just the same way and he looked good. So many top players have come here and struggle and it's not like our football is anything as complex as what City plays so it really bothers me...

We are talking about ole's United now, so the bolded doesn't consign this discuss.
Back to Donny, it is obvious that he doesn't fit the system United plays ( if you agree we have a system though), it is left for him to adapt like walker, aguero etc adapted under pep, he has less than 1 season here so time is still on his side.

You mentioned good coaching like ole hasn't had impact on some players in United?

I hope we conclude our summer signings early enough before the start of the Euros...I hope the board get Ole the players he wants just so he can utilize his bench...

With Chelsea is this form and the return of Liverpool's injured players as well as City continuing in their fine form, next season looks set to be a cracker...

No matter how little, take your chances when you see them, when James picked form, he started 3-4 straight matches if I am not mistaken.

James picked form? Why you sabi lie like this?

I can only point to Shaw and maybe Lindelof, which other player has improved under Ole? You can even argue that of Shaw as he has always been good but struggled for fitness.

Arteta has his name written in the managerial history books because when ever those trophies are mentioned, his name will be mentioned.

Lampard finished in the top 4 in a season Chelsea lost their star player and was banned from signing players...He also reached the FA Cup final. This season, his team made it past the UCL group stage and were only struggling in the league for which he was sacked. Would he have turned things around? Nobody knows.

Ole? We couldn't guide us past the group stage, lost the FA Cup quarter final to Leicester after shockingly leaving our star players on the bench. The only area he has manged some consistency is the EPL...If Ole was coach at Chelsea, he'd have been sacked for that UCL slump alone.

It's only Arsenal that would've stuck with Ole because they themselves are lovers of mediocrity...

Many of you guys overrated or overhyped VDB. He is a good player but not the level of player some of you think he is.

I remember when I was debating with Kagawa a couple of years ago and raised concerns about his passing. How can you be playing in a dominant possession based midfield and you are passing the ball 25 times and your partner is passing the ball 75 times. The 2nd guy is a controller while the first guy is just a football hyena.

Some players are highly dependent on systems but it might not be obvious at the start. That is why not everybody in the Porto team of 2004 was that good even though most of them got good moves. Same with that Ajax team. Even Z-yansh looked way better in Ajax, and that system carried a borderline Premier League flop like Tadic into the UEFA Squad of the season and Ballon D’Or list.
