[quote author=haiti007 post=97836919] Good morning ma'am, I've just gotten admission into a reputable school of nursing in Nigeria. My uncle that lives in the US for the more than 25years has called me to congratulate me for this feat, hence, he promised that I'd soon come and join him in the US soon... Even though I will be writing my ielts exams by 2023, I'd be preparing myself from now. Physically and mentally. But my fear is that, with all I've read on this thread, HELLO MY SIS JUST GOT ADMISSION TOO HOPING FOR HER TO FINISH AND START PREPARING TO JAPA |

haiti007:Yea, I get but isn't it harsh to collect 400k from students and eventually weed them out after 6 months? 3 Likes 1 Share |

jaeybee98: Though it has been cancelled in most schools, thanks to the council (my school don't do that too). Nonetheless, I feel that it makes students more serious when they are under pressure to pass. Most students actually relax after they have gotten the admission. The reading culture falls drastically and the aim of producing great mind in this noble profession is forestalled.. Personally, I believe that anybody that study well during his/her stay won't have a reason to fail or be weeded out 2 Likes |

haiti007:Nicely said but then a repeat or resit would have been more appropriate than outright withdrawal. Thank God it's been cancelled tho. 1 Like |

jaeybee98: Yes sir, there's now resit and repeat too in lieu of weeding students out. |

Hello my people, I am back again. Heard I have been missed so much, make una no vex o. I have backlog of issues ...eh no be small but I can start small. Just a quick update, I have just finished my Bsc Top up, looking forward to starting a masters soon. It's been really an exciting and challenging journey at the same time. I must say again if you want to practice in the UK, please start your applications asap. Things are becoming harder by the day and rumours are having it that it might become harder. I also encourage people to start NMC application on time if possible before IELTS or simultaneously because it takes so much time these days. All the best from me. Ps: I promise to be better at this, so help me God. 11 Likes |

If you are ready financially, you could enter Year 2 this month so that by November you enter year 3 and will be eligible to write HND finals by 2022. You will chat with the Vice Chancellor/ Director of my school. *For CHEW, Public Health/Medical Assistant, Midwifery especially. **You will join Cameroon Nurses Association on graduation. Later, you can do BSc Nursing ( online or on campus) 1 Like |

osato45:The experience does not count anymore. My concern is that though midwifery is a shortage occupation, the need for midwives is not as great as that of nurses so getting job might be a little bit harder. This is not a statement of fact but if you know someone who has used the midwifery route that would be great but you never know until you try. All the best. 3 Likes |

crushsugar: Good Morning Ma, my fiancée is RN with 4 years work experience, currently employed by a state government here in Nigeria and at the same time doing a post-basic program, which she will complete next year. She is interested in relocating to UK next year for a better work opportunity, pls what are the available options for her to achieve this? How can she start the process/preparation now? Is it still possible for her to get a UK job offer from Nigeria? Thanks |

Richdee1: Thanks for your response and politeness. I was quite hasty in asking the questions without thoroughly going through the thread 1st. I'm already in page 16 now, and have seen lots of useful information. Though I will still really like to know if it's still presently possible to get the nursing job from Nigeria, taking into consideration the fact that Op's success story happened in 2019 |

Nerich042: it's possible but will take a Lot of time Let her get her LinkedIn account running, connect with people in her Field, follow companies and industries in health sector, NHS importantly, tailor her profile to what she has achieved, connect with recruiters, let her revamp her CV. Evalute her degree if possible You can use youtube to learn how to position herself for brands |
