Ordibary ZICO OIL I use often and often. I buy it for N800 normally. Buy 2 for N1,600.

I was surprised last week here, it was solt to us at N1,900. Omo, the sharp increase shock me kidney.

Noticed it when I travelled down to the village few weeks back. Bought the one sold for #1500 to use on my Gen. Came back the following morning to buy a bigger since I was thinking of having the Gen serviced, The lady told me the one sold for #4000 is now #8,500 so I asked about the one I bought just yesterday? She told me it was #4000 without even blinking. Note- I had asked her for their prices the previous day o! Telling her I'd come take it the following day.

Honestly it has never been this bad.

Dont forget nnpc has said they will not be contributing to the federation account for the next few months as all earning is used to subsidize petrol importation. Imagine fgn loosing 90% of its income. That means no federal allocation to states etc. All revenue will be from firs, customs etc.

This reason for the hike in engine oil is due to the cost of buying base oil

500N was initially 450 but now it’s almost 1200 per liter

The high rise of engine oil price has led to so many fake in the market, some use diesel to miss the oil When you use it twice your generator develop fault.

Through out last week I've been running from one generator repairer to another until one of them draw my attention to it.

That was how I bought engine oil that turned to super-glue and almost destroyed my generator. Even the repairer was shocked.

The Heavy duty one we use to service generators used to cost 800 November last year

It’s now 1800 naira ( some petrol stations sell the same for 1650 tho )

Funny thing too is cos there is barely any nepa, the generators now drink oil like fuel cos they are always on for too long

Meaning sometimes every 3 days ooo must be bought for the generator

Talk about ease of doing business in Nigeria

You need your Rims changed. Else you'll spend more on oil than you do on fuel.
