I Want To Report My Landlord For Bypassing Our Electricity Meter by sammymax(m): 12:52am On May 10, 2021 |
So I discovered that my landlord bypassed his meter because our light git spoilt and I was trying to fix it. This is the same man that you cannot owe light bill. I had a disagreement with him so he already gave me quit notice. So now that I know that all the money I have ever paid him has been pocketed I want to report him but my friend said it's not necessary that I am already leaving the house. I'm I totally wrong 27 Likes 1 Share |

sammymax: Hmm, IMHO, if you can report them with stealth, do so, or else remain silent for the rest of the days... You never can tell if they would rat you out to him, but if you are to fulfil all righteousness, you'd report him and let him know you did, then it may become a royal rumble, and cause ripple effects. If you can cope with the mud, pray for the rain! I have spoken! I have spoken! 117 Likes 4 Shares |

In Nigeria, always learn to avoid trouble as trouble wahala and gobe are very very expensive It's right to report Theft of Electricity and Utility services as a patriotic Nigerian.. but always remember that whatever can lead to altercation which can snow ball to Hospital or Police Station just avoid it Least bail is 10k in most police station, least deposit a Clinic would receive before treating you is about 10k also... So avoid any wahala if you don't have Atleast 50 k to spare . 272 Likes 15 Shares |

You don't need Nairalanders' approval. One thing you have to bear in mind is that you are in Nigeria, and any patriotic move may backfire and blow in your own face here. Meanwhile, your own move is even borne out of resentment for your landlord and not patriotism. The distribution companies, however, do not deserve anyone's sympathy. They too have been enjoying ungodly gains over the years. 41 Likes 1 Share |

We keep talking about fighting corruption in higher places forgetting that it begins from the home front. If there is a way you can report him without him knowing you blew the whistle on him, please do. Else, look away. Your life matters. 8 Likes 1 Share |

The fact that he's been collecting electricity bills from you without remittance is enough for him to be reported. It's just that these PHCN people do not deserve any form of pity also but he should at least vomit what he has eaten from his innocent tenants. 21 Likes 1 Share |
