To be honest, your answers did not make.

Where are you going to? - Idaho. Really?? You are a student going to school, not the entire state.

Why are you going to Idaho? - Because that's where my school is. This answer just shows laziness and nonchalance. It's also leaning towards being rude.

The VO didn't seem convinced(Even me, I am not convinced). Your "why you chose the school" answer was long and did not have anything of substance.

The VO will likely ask you "you were denied so so so time, what do you think has changed that makes you eligible for this visa."

I advice you to join a group or community , construct a transcript and do a number of mock interviews with them to prepare you.

I'm not attacking you, just my honest criticism.
Asiwaju101:
My transcript

VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning sir, happy new year in advance.
VO: (smiles) Thanks
VO: where are u going to

VO: Why did u choose idaho state
Me: because that's the state my school is located
VO: is that y you choose the school?
Me: oh!there are lots of reasons y I chose the school (nods head, looks interested),apart from been given a 15k funding,
In terms of accreditation, out of the 4 schools I got admitted into the university of idaho has the highest accreditation a business school should have, which is the AACSB accreditation, its the association of advance collegiate school of business, this accreditation ensures that business school graduate learns from the best and are ready to perform at any time.

Having spoken to each representative of all university I got admitted into, professor Michael dorathey of the university of Idaho was the one the convinced me more on what I stand to get as an international student(nods head), like training opportunity, research opportunity, and some personal programs like critical thinking, that will help me to be a better person (cuts me off)

VO: do mean other schools aren't good enough?
Me: no, after my research on alll schools i find out that the university of Idaho suit my dreams best.

VO: Name the university you got admitted into
Me: Louisiana state university, park university,Murray state university, university of Idaho
VO: when did u graduate from high school
Me: 2015
VO: what have u been doing since then
Me: in 2015 I was 16 years then, the government of Nigeria impose a law on top university in Nigeria because of the. Security issues the country was facing as at then.
My father didn't want me to stay home for 2 years, he enrolled me in an ICT program, where I was thought computer programming and after then my father enrolled me in one of his automotive training center, where I have been.
VO: are u married
Me: (looks surprised) No
VO: do u have children
Me: No
VO: whos ur sponsor
Me: I.mentioned

He started typing for a long while, smile was on my face hoping I'll get the visa, to my surprise it was the reverse.

Am reapplying , where do u think I should improve,
Where did I get it wrong.
Pls feel free to correct me

My second interview was in Lagos April 20.
Denied.
I met a white lady at the desk. After passing her the 1-20 and passport she started typing and said I had an interview in January I said yes, she continued typing and ask what has changed but to be sincere I couldn't give a good answer to it. Then she proceed and ask why did I want to study biology? I said apart from the from the fact that Austin peay state university has one of the best biology program in the state of Tennessee, my goal is to also work as a public health personal with the Nigerian Red Cross. She continued typing and ask who is sponsoring you? I said my uncle.
Then she gave me a denial letter.

Or it could be your uncle is the sponsor. A friend of mine, during her first time, she noticed everyone who mentioned both Uncle or aunt got a denial. She mentioned uncle and was denied too. Immediately she left, she had her mum arrange some funds in her account and used her the second time. A week apart she went again & when VO asked what has changed, she said she noticed almost everyone with aunt & uncle got a denial, she had to make her mum give her the funds. The VO started laughing & approved it for it

Polly240:
Good morning everyone
Pls can someone help me review and transcript, my interview is in 2 weeks.
Thank you.

V.O: Good morning
ME: Good morning. How’re you today?

V.O: where are you headed?
ME: I’m going to Georgia State University for a master degree program in Chemistry.

V.O: what’s your academic background?
ME: I completed my bachelors degree at Bowen University, Iwo with a first class honours in Biochemistry in 2018. After which I went on for my one year NYSC program where I taught chemistry at a secondary school in kaduna state.

V.O: what do you know about GSU?
ME: GSU located in downtown Atlanta was founded in 1913 as a night school for the Georgia school of technology. It is one of the four research universities in the university system of Georgia; university of Georgia, Augusta university and Georgia institute of technology.

V.O: why GSU?
ME: Asides the fact that I was offered a full tuition wavier with a graduate research assistantship position that’s comes with stipend. GSU has a very high research activity with its chemistry program among the top 10% in the USA according to US news ranking. Also, during my search I discovered Dr Suri Iyer whose research interest in drug design and molecular assay development aligns perfectly with mine. I’ll be working directly with him and he’s keen on having me join his research group. Also, GSU is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, so I would get to experience life in the city and diverse cultures.

V.O: how did you discover the school?
ME: after my decision to get a master degree in chemistry. I used Peterson’s and gradschools website to search for schools offering a masters degree in chemistry, then I streamlined my options based on my research interests. That’s how I came across Dr suri and GSU.

V.O: what’s your research interest?
ME: my research interest focuses on the design and synthesis of small molecule antagonists of chemokine receptors involved in inflammatory diseases. These antagonists would act as therapeutic agents for these diseases thereby inhibiting the activities of these receptors. It also involves the development of molecular testing diagnostic tools using glycan-based diagnostics.
This is a very high research that is aimed at developing high performance drugs targeted at curbing symptoms (like swelling, joint stiffness, loss of movement) established in inflammatory diseases.
Furthermore, my engagement in this research would enhance my knowledge on drug design development and techniques which I would implement in the drug production team of my late father’s company upon arrival after graduation.

V.O: what would this degree do for you?
ME: Getting this degree would advance my knowledge and techniques in drug development, which would qualify me for the position of the research and development chemist in the r&d team of my late father’s company upon my arrival after graduation.

V.O: Tell me about your late father’s company
ME: poultry support services is a registered limited company established in 1992. We started with running a veterinary clinic and also a animal supplies store; where we sell all animals drugs, feed and equipment. Until late 2019, when we decided to create a livestock drug production team where I work as the drug design and development analyst. Getting this degree would help me implement my drug design and development techniques as the research & development chemist in the team.

V.O: why USA?
ME: the United States has one of the best educational systems in the world and is known for having diverse research area. A degree in the US is well recognised all over the world.
ME: coupled with the stipend I’ll be getting as a research assistant. My deficit would be paid by my elder brother; who’s the current CEO of my late father’s company Poultry Support Services, where we’ve run a veterinary clinic and animal supplies store for over

V.O: are you married?
ME: No

V.O: I’ll be approving your visa

Hi, what's the update.
Hope you got your visa.

Actually this is my first time of posting on this platform but trust me, I read transcripts, downloaded transcripts, above all I like comments, that's mostly what I do here.

I got my Visa approved today in Abuja and it was God and preparation. A guy in my front got denied by the lady VO so I was praying I shouldn't get her. I did.

Alot of people, in my opinion, got approved today. I think today is a good day. I was part of the last people at the embassy.

Oh! I saw indaboski today.
.........

US Embassy, Abuja
Status: Approved
GA: $29k
Deficit: $7k

Me: Good Afternoon
V.O: Good Afternoon, Pass me your documents
Me: Passed (Hand dry shake as I passed all docs - I20, and all those used for screening)

V.O: Typing... you are going to the University of Arkansas
Me: Yes

V.O: Oh, you've got an assistantship
Me: Yes

V.O: Typing.... checking I20, ha, your sister will be covering your deficit and she stays in the US?
Me: No... She stay in Nigeria ma, and my Dad will be my sponsor. I only use my sister cos my dad was unavailable at the time when I needed to get my I20 out (She actually stays in the US).

V.O: What does your dad do?
Me: He's a business man who specialises in trading oil and gas products.

V.O: Nods, which other school did you apply to?
Me: University of Nebraska, Lincoln and Louisiana State Univeristy ( I applied to only one school)

V.O: What would when you come back to Nigeria?
Me: I'd love to work for multinational organisations such as IITA, Olam, Flour Mills, whose research aid food security as well as consult with the Ministry of Agriculture to help farmers augment thoer yield and increase output (I'm not sure she's listening to all these but I was talking).

V.O: Typing........
Me: When the silence was awkward... I said I'm actually going for Rice Processing...

That's how she just said blablabla......and I heard make sure you pick up your visa........

Omo, I was dumbfounded!!! I just did thank you and left boning. The security thought I got denied but na me know the level of cloud and euphoria that's in me.

Thank to everyone who posts their transcripts, really I learnt alot from you guys, you are the best.

By the way, no one said that we were gonna be interviewed while standing up. Me I've always thought one would sit down.

It didnt last up to 3 - 5Mins

A guy before me got approved.
COA - $45k
Dean's scholarship - $3.5I
I think the fact that he was just talking and confident was enough.

They never requested for bank statement.

Hello house. What's it about VO asking for how many schools do one applied to? Is it that applying to more than one school boost one's chances of getting visa approved? I applied to only one school and will be going for interview by June by God's Grace.Your candid advice, please.

I need expert advice on this:

I have a Nigerian masters and I'm going for masters in USA.

1. If I declare my masters qualification in my application, I know it may generate questions and I'm preparing for that. But, will that harm my chances?

2. If I don't declare my masters qualification, I can tell d vo wat I've been doing since my bachelor's graduation but my thinking this may have present and future consequences e.g if I want to go for PhD in USA later. Please, is it advisable to hide d masters?

3. From transcripts I've been reading, I've noticed that VOs don't usually grasp all d details on ds 160 for interview. So, they may not notice some details that should av generated questions. Am I right?
