It is better to send this okada guys back to their countries, remember they are from the north and Niger. They pose serious security threats to Lagos. Opay and Gokada that was well organized(they have details of all their riders including bvn and ID cards) was stopped because of MC Olumo and co.

I hope we are ready when they start their mayhem in Lagos.

This ban is designed to wipe off Northerners and foreigners from Chad and Niger who are into Okada and Keke business in Lagos

Its so unfortunate that this action by the state government are wicked and cowardly in the senses that they see these people as a threat to the future of NURTW in Lagos State because they are the only group in that transport sect
or that has been boldly challenging the illegal multiple taxes Agberos collect on behalf of NURTW at Okada/Keke parks recently
Its so wicked that the State politicians did not consider the economic implication s on their (SW) indigenes that are majority in this business who depend on it for a living

Another season of crime loading...If no alternative provided for the okada riders, the ban is useless as letter 'P' in philosophy

The alternative is that they should take their dead bodies back to Kano where they all came from

God will bless you. We are walking into what could be a terrorist-type Fulani expansionist trap and some are still talking and thinking like children.

Adults make sacrifices. It is what separates us from children. Lagos, at every stage, even when unnecessary to do so since we can all see what is going on, continues to insist they are doing this to secure the state better yet many still keep talking ridiculously.

They say they want to clear abandoned buildings of vagrants who could be murderers and terrorists and some begin talking about " provision of alternative accomodation".

How about these people go back to their State so we can all feel safer in ours?

Just fed up of the immaturity and unreasonable nature of a lot of Nigerians.

You have sense bro!
Many above could not consider that most of the inner Roads or routes are far from the main road and there are no interconnectivity!
It is unfortunate that we just come to the Forum and speak without consideration.
What alternative vehicles do Lagos State provide for citizens that are 2 or 5 Kilometers from where the busese drop them? Do you say such will work the kilometers everyday without breaking down? Most of those holding meetings with the Governors have multiple sources of movement in and around them.
We are just greedy chaps without considering the very Masses we took oath to rescue from poverty and we care less.
The Okada riders too are reckless and have no training whatsoever, hence the high rate of accidents and some join criminals to perpetuate evil in the State.
We should find a common ground like that of India, especially the New Delhi- where Cars,Keke-Napep and Okada are living comfortable to cater for the increasing Population.
God bless Lagos State.
We should should be holistic in finding solutions to Lagosian needs.

Yes supported. Banning Okadas totally is a waste of time. People who have transportation needs on the inner roads will still demand for it. There is a growing population and the buses cannot fit it. But it is good Okadas are banned on major roads. While driving, these guys can just spin in from nowhere and make you have an accident with them.

Okada men also contribute to crime rate and accidents. Youth should learn works and trades.
I know some guys here in Abeokuta , Ogun state that are welders. But they ride okada .why..? There is no light. Light is epileptic here and they have family to feed. So alot of them have to huzzle with bike till they can buy a generator that can power the welding machine. So it's a combinations of different problems my brother.

This is the best news ever. Come to Igando and see how this Okada riders cause havoc on cars, they'll block the major roads with Okada hence difficult for motorists to pass without scratching your car. 80% are northerners while the remaining 20% are other tribes who has abandoned their handiwork for quick money.

Why should providing job for mainly hausa be d responsibility of lagos state govt, they have been budgeted for in there states not in lagos, dey have no economical value here
In case u need to know that 70% of okada riders in lagos presently r hausas, dey r flooding lagos from d north everyday and I can tell u that 70% of yoruba ppl riding okadas have hand work but dey just chose to be lazy, if we don't fight the influx of okada nw it will be a time bomb

All south west states should ban Okada in their state capitals and cities.
You are quite right. If the other South West states don't ban them, they will simply move to Ogun and Oyo states. Governor Makinde, are you there?

Bro, I just tire for how some Nigerians think and talk. So Lagos should just continue accommodating people from all over Nigeria and Africa despite her limited resources and geographical limitations?

Ten thousand men land in Lagos today from Mali or Sudan and Sanwo Olu should begin worrying about how to accommodate and find jobs for them?

Obvious that many ordinary Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria too and not leaders alone.

My take in this very sensitive issue is that the government should look inwards. The state registers and provides license plates numbers for these bikes and tricycles. The state via FRSC issues drivers license to these riders. The government via the local authorities and union issue operating permits and sell tickets to these people too. So the state can also use these same medium to stop registering new bikes and tricycles and also stop issuing operating permits and licenses to new entrants thereby monitoring and curtailing their excesses. Then do a gradual "phase out" of them by gradually introducing the new busses been proposed. The security situation in the country is tense now to release hundreds of thousands of idle youths into the society with no plan B. Na wahala be that ooo...

They should expect crime rate to increase after this their foolish ban on Okada
So u blame d govt nw that someone refuses to be educated or learn hand work?
So many hands work a young person can learn And still manage to survive even if work is not regular, do u know d number of industries coming up between lagos and ogun state, u think dis ppl seeing daily money want to start collecting salary monthly......already okadas r d reasons for high way robberies ask those that passes through mile12 everyday, u cannot go and rob in lagos with a car and get away
U wants things to change in Nigeria but u don't want change in the mode of things........if u think twice b4 ur comment u will know is really stupid

Stop this idiocy. Are you happy with what is going on in Nigeria where many are dying needlessly and insecurity is now a word all Nigerians use daily while the Presidency, legislators and State Governors do absolutely nada?

At least Lagos is responding admirably to security challenges to demonstrate that her leaders care for those who voted them into power whereas we see leadership apathy throughout our entire nation.

What is going on is not a joke and it is not chickens dying daily. It is your fellow human beings so let us support those doing something to protect Nigerian lives and property rather than play politics with everything. It is those who live who will partake in election so grow up and begin thinking like an adult.

Put petty criticism and sentiments aside and let us all do what we must to survive this period of gross abandonment and negligence from most leaders we elected to protect our lives and property rather than attacking the few doing something when we should be supporting them !!

Oh crap! safe me the manipulation these folks ain’t ready to do nothing. To them everything is politics.

What we have resolved to do, we will break this country first so that we can really focus on developing the South West Nigeria for the Yoruba people. As for those deceptive politicians using ethnic division as a tool to coverup their failure. There is a plan for them too.

Shebi you people said you crazy.

Some people started a new and more professional way of doing things in the Okada biz but you people mixed them with the rest and threw them all away.

That would have been a better time to make the other players adopt that method by bigger investors coming in and applying the same method.

But you guys are kidding because the services if Okada is still needed that is why people use them. If there is a better alternative, it die a natural death

It's not possible na.
The more you develop Lagos, the more people will enter it.
If you want people to leave Lagos, then develop other states as well..
The North boys are not going anywhere..

The president is from the North,
All the key government ministers are all from the North,
The Chief justice is from the North, the head of NNPC is from the North,
All the major security agencies are from the North.
All the governors in the North are from the Northern ethnic.

Yet you want Lagosian to develop the North, a case of inferiority complex and laziness. The North want power, but anytime they get it they run the country into the ground.

This is a wellcoming development and the first time I will be supporting government policy. Those Okada riders from Niger,Chad have caused more damage than good to the society. Most of them don’t know anywhere or understand simple English ,it’s wven the passenger that will be directly them and they drives recklessly and once you correct them, they get angry and gather to fight you.
So it’s high time they left.
