Israel is not as relevant as you think. They're good but there are still about 10-15 countries better than them. Israel even imports military equipment. They don't produce many military equipment. Their relevance to the US is for power balance, same as Saudi Arabia though Saudi has oil too. Infact, Israel cannot boast of being able to crush Saudi Arabia.
