Actually it was my company's agent that arranged the documents,I just went to submit myself, even my account balance was ₦200 as of the time I submitted my application and it was a VIP application and not regular.

It was a company training so I believe your account balance doesn't really count for much. Also, whether it's a Vip lounge application or regular submission, that really doesn't matter when the embassy is reviewing the application. It only helps in getting help during the submission process at VFS.
If I may ask, does your coy have a registered branch in SA? Like the MTNs, Stanbic IBTC, Standard charter or Shop rites? Cos that really improve visa chances by like 70%. I know for a fact that most of those coys have an agreement with SA embassy to get visa applications treated in about 10working days max.

It's a multinational company (American company) with branches in Joburg and Capetown.
I'm currently in the Capetown branch.

Please for newbies in SA entirely,my advise is that you watch your steps wherever you go,try as much as you can to limit your movements within the Nigerian communities and also don't walk at nights and if you have to,don't walk alone. Really I'm not a newbie in SA but I'm a newbie in Capetown, the last time I was in SA (2013),I was in Jo'burg for just a week and I didn't really move around but something happened this morning when I was walking down the street to sight see the beauty of Capetown and also get an airtime to call people back home, unfortunately on getting to a 4 way turns (a major highway),I saw a group of South African guys(blacks) at a sharp turning, all smoking and gisting, immediately I knew something was about to happen and lo and behold it did. One of them spoke the Afrikan language to me but unfortunately I couldn't respond cos I don't understand and next thing about 8 of them wanted to mug me,I summoned courage to address them in English that "what's the problem" and next thing one of them who I guess was their leader asked where I was going to and I managed to tell him with all confidence but deep down I was like "it has happened today",then he said ok that I was free to go when he heard the name of my coy. I said thank you and I left immediately and walked as fast as my legs could go and even as I was going one said "watch your movements because we don't allow other Africans here", I looked back, nodded and moved faster than I was moving.
I thank God because if it was a lonely way or late hour walk,it might have been a different story.
SA to me is overrated, not as exactly what is being painted to us,and there are no jobs here...... there's no love between the whites and blacks, even the blacks don't like other African blacks.
My candid and sincere advise to first time travellers is that, focus on other better countries or just use it to disvirgin your passport, then move to a better country. A word is enough for the wise.

True at the above, there are no jobs for foreigners and the citizens are hostile to Nigerians. The major thing I like about SA is that it's a beautiful African country, like you get both the African and European mix in one place. I wish Nigeria is developed to that extent, I swear we won't be migrating as much. South Africans rarely migrate even as much as they get preferential treatment on visas to USA, UK etc.
Canada, Australia, UK are very boring to live especially if you were a lagosian.

You can get robbed/stabbed in daylight with ordinary knife and nobody will be bothered......

All African nations are shithole, or I should say black people mentality is messed

Someone should please respond to this query, can you just walk in and submit at VFS Lagos or the online appointment is compulsory ?
Yhamo:
Good day house,
I am planning to submit an application at VFS Lagos, and i have been trying to book appointment online but there are no available slots for the rest of the month. My guess is that there might be some technical issues with their online booking platform. Can i just walk in to submit or the online booking appointment is compulsory? Please anyone that submitted recently should please respond to this.

Thanks

I got back to my room and started crying and cursing the people (government) who messed up our country. We're better than them in many ways but our problem is the bad reputation/image we have.

I opened a trade talking about my experience in cape town and I was going to mention the fact that we nigerians are not generally liked and anyone can get robbed anywhere and you have to have knowledge of where is safe to go and where is not. Some people derailed the thread because they had other threads talking about the beauty of South Africa posting stock pictures anyone can find with proper research on tht internet. Someone asked about their women and I spoke about how most of them within the place I stayed at had Nigerian boyfriends and that you don't need to spend time toasting and toasting like you would do in Nigeria. You just had to be fun and be entertaining and this was my honest observation. They came at me saying I am posting lies and spoiling the image of the country.
To be honest SA, Cape Town especially is a very lovely place to live in but you must follow rules,Nigeria is not good we know but like one of my friend who has been here for long said " the average south african doesn't really think before doing you harm over something really petty". A Nigerian thief may look at you and view the pros and cons of attempting to rob you,he would think about if it would be worth it or not and if he would escape without trouble. But the people here would do you dirty if they feel like. They are like people that are high on weed that don't really think about repercussions when they do stuff. Don't get me wrong the people in offices and stores are really nice but it's the everyday people you meet on the street that you need to worry about. The whites don't really have anybody's time, they don't particularly hate but they really do not care if you live or die. In terms of infrastructure and beauty I will be honest beauty alone cape town has such natural beauty that would beat most places in US and Europe. There are no jobs here but I see that most people here are undocumented so your chances would just move to zero. If you follow rules and tailor your movements you will enjoy the improved standard of living.

My take on these issues

Safety is of the Lord.

I have lived in SA for years and never once have I had an security issue however that doesn't invalidate other people's fears and experiences

I feel much safer in Nigeria than in South Africa. Here I don’t have to deal with the racial issues and the kind of violence South Africa is known For. The kind of colonisation they went through is still affecting them till date with a very wide divide between the haves and the haves not. Somehow in Nigeria wealthy or upper middle income earners have a way of building some rapport with their immediate surrounding and still feel safe. As a Nigerian in South Africa there are too many things you may have to contend with particularly if you are all struggling to survive along with the locals

you are not yet ready to upgrade. Stay in ur comfort zone just because someone narrated his experience. What of millions of people that have had awesome and beautiful experience upon arrival and beyond like myself and others?
Like I reiterated earlier, be conscious of your environment regardless of wherever you are.. Nowhere is 100% safe.
