. That is Nigeria for you. We need occupational health and safety agency in each state. I wrote a proposal for partnering with the ministry of Environment in the area of awareness on environment, health and safety in workplace in one of South west state, to my surprised they frustrated hell out of me even the commissioner of that ministry is a person that we know each other better. The proposal did not see green light. This is a proposal that will generate millions of naira. Honestly, this country is a dream killer.

Hmm... Sad.

That is why nothing is done to the existing facilities on ground until they go bad completely.

Every man is after his own selfish gains.
Lord help us.

They will leave it until it fell down and kill people it will create attention of the government. They govt will now release 10 million to fix it. They will use 20,000 to fix it and pocket the rest. It's business as usual. So leave it there we are seeing it. Allow it to fell and kill people first.

Please can you share a picture. I'll appreciate. Thanks

The authorities in charge would ignore the pole until it falls down and kill students or other passers by.

You are right a bit.
Let me clarify something.
That pole is not in the school like the OP said rather it's outside the school
It's on a major road connecting town to barnawa axis.

I was in a classroom yesterday when the Provost of my school came around monitoring, he saw a tap dripping water in a wash hand basin and angrily drew our attention to the wastage when we're complaining of lack of water in the hostels. Some of us know that the tap is bad even among the Maintenance Dept but we have all been ignoring it. We had to go back to tell the Provost that the tap seems faulty. He didn't bother to blame us but he just put a call through to the Head of the Maintenance Dept to go fix it.
The SUG should take responsibility to inform the Provost or Rector.

It is possible to convincingly argue that disorganisation is Nigeria’s apex problem and those factors which Nigerians place higher than disorganisation are usually symptoms of disorganisation.

It is possible to convincingly argue that disorganisation is Nigeria’s apex problem and factors Nigerians place higher are symptoms of this.We need to compartmentalise responsibilities better so that Authorities and citizens know exactly where accountability lie.

I like to employ the term industry in description of organisations because the term industry describes many linked processes. So for example, ill say hairdressing industry, security industry, road sweeping industry, policing industry, thieving industry, sports industry, maintenance industry etc. Things will not work and endure as stand alone enterprises they will fall apart or become dysfunctional.

I have never seen such irresponsible country as this, wjat the authorities waiting for? Is it until this thing hanging precprecariously falls and kills many before they react.
They can't use tax payers money to give them the comfort but they waste this same money on frivolous and selfish projects. Useless people.

What part of Authority is responsible for its maintenance? Is it NEPA? What branch of NEPA? If it is a branch of NEPA responsible, who heads this branch? Do they have Works vans and branded technicians, contact phone numbers? Do people see these Work Vans and technicians regularly going about business of fixing relevant utilities? As Americans would say, in short, where does the Buck Stop?

Much of Nigeria’s issues are to do with disorganisation and, stand alone enterprises, i.e. without supporting enterprises, are a part of disorganisation.

So, you are waiting for “government” to come to a school to fix an electric pole?
Meanwhile, there are people in that school collecting SALARIES for administration and maintenance.

The biggest problem of Nigeria is NIGERIANS!
