Been living independently since 2016

She was my friend who was supposed to be living with me "temporarily" until she got a hostel space on campus.

100 level.

I'll finish cooking, babe will say she prefers garlic stew, and cook another pot of stew with my ingredients.... infused with lots of garlic.

She always had a different way of cooking so much so that I'll finish cooking, and she'll start wasting my gas and ingredients to cook what she wanted.

Even in some people's family house, the kids can't do that.

She was always inviting her coursemates over to my house and pretending it was hers. And then one day, she started dating one Ekosodin boy and wanted him to come sleep over.

That year, I was still generally weary of people who lived in Ekosodin.

In my head, "this girl is crazy ni."

Coupled with the fact that she had such annoying moodswings and anger issues. I sat her down one day and told her to make hasty preparations to either buy a hostel bed space or go pay for a place outside campus.

Turned out the whole time that she never even applied for a hostel bed space. She thought she could live in my house free for one whole year when there was a close friend who had been asking for us to split rent and live together.

God gave me a brother as a roommate. People around thought we've known each from day 1. We did everything together. We went to school together because we were also coursemates.


We eat together. We starve together. We always had each other backs

Well, I've lived together with people with different shades of character. One of them stood out though.
Any time the guy is sick, I'll ask him if he had told a lie that day.
In fact, the only thing I can vouch for that guy is that more than 90% of the things he says in a day aren't true.
The annoying thing is that majority of the lies he tell are very unnecessary.

They use to give me small food even though we contributed equally

This days na my bestie house i come da stay pass and werey da find punna next year I go rent my house

Never had a roomie in the uni days, Nysc days and even now. I had to be alone after a clear understanding of the human nature.

We can be friends but you should keep your distance.

I was actually the bad roommate. I don't sweep, nor wash, I was just the pain in the arse

During NYSC I had a roommate that would disappear from the lodge once allawee drops and crawls back whenever he is broke to eat.

I had to convince the other lodge mates that they should allow me treat his fup.

So this faithful day I went to the market with our contributions came back and cooked a nice Sunday stew and rice and as expected Oga came back.

I dished the food to everyone except him, first he spoke my language thinking that because we are from the same tribe I will bulge, no way. Everyone was looking at him ( we are all boys we cook and eat at the general area). He started speaking Yoruba to his fellow Lagos guy, the guy told him in English that I was the one that went to the market and responsible for the cooking and sharing.

My guy pleaded I told him drop your share of the money and get food. He thought I was joking. We finished eating I took the remaining pot with me. He stayed all day and went to bed without food. After that once allawee drops he drops his own share of the food money and no matter where he is he comes back to cook on the day it is is turn to cook.

This one go go club smoke and drink wella come back dey devour my garri ... Where i mad na wen n begin use my towel dey clean n body too ... And this guy get fleet of shoes oi

mine wasn't terrible cause I'm the straight forward type from the first time him come no carry serious foodstuff come i no say problem go de be that , he is always lazy doesn't want to cook as i see so i tell am everybody go de cook him food wey him carry come naso we come de run but hin no like de wash plate again had to warn him after rent expire i drive am i no get strength for unnecessary stress

Having a roommate is like getting married. You will never know the true character of someone until you live with him/her.

During my university days, I had a nasty experience with the first roommate I had. So I took my time to study a particular guy for one year, he was very nice and caring or so I thought. After our rent elapsed, I relocated to another place with this new guy. Lol and behold, our relationship didn't last for 1 month. Infact he was worse than my previous roommate. I had to endure for the remaining 11 months! This was a guy I studied for 1 year and couldn't detect his bad sides until we lived together and he revealed it under 1 month.

After that experience, I decided never to have anything to do with roommates again. I started living alone and I was able to concentrate fully on my studies without distraction.

that's reality of life, more reason why marriages collapsing, you can never know exact personality of others until you live together under one roof ,I mean staying together in same room.

Back in th days mine was always telling me no money, dat his mum sells only crayfish in Aba. I felt pity for him n was doing all this in the house money is needed for... until i caught him severally eating in one of the best restaurants on campus.
I was shock o cos me never go there except friends won buy for me.from that day, i lock up n he noticed n find another roommate elsewhere!

My room mate will always disappear whenever there is bill to pay, no maintenance...always buying clothes and shoes but can't bring money for us to cook a good meal...it was a terrible experience jare

the guy was cooking my foodstuffs and giving it to lecturers . come dey threaten me join plus other rubbish
. I moved out to avoid wounding somebody.

Am looking for room mate in lagos who can accomodate me for two weeks.

Mine was a stupid room mate that was President of Accounting department that siphoned Students fees and he was enjoying the money with his girlfriend until they were demanding for accountability he was now asking me for solutions hopeless room mate!

I once had a roommate in Law School, very handsome guy and cool headed. A complete ladies man, and quite nice.
We used to contribute to fetch water as we were living in the lat floor of 2 storey building.
Our problems started with water. I only consume 2 buckets of water daily, but this guy dey shit like snails (o maa nyagbe bi igbin), like 4 or 5 times daily. Therefore, consuming a lot of our joint water.
It didn't end well with our relationship.

Am waiting to see the bad ones that would c0mment "I am a bad roommate, I know dey watch plate, I no dey cook etc.

I once had a bad room mate that eats app my food stuffs. Eating all of it isn't a problem as am not greedy as time went on he started inviting friends to do same.


Then when I stopped bringing food stuffs and told my parents to give me money instead this guy started having a grudge towards me, started talking rubbish that igbo people are stingy.

Person way don break him word many times, wen we moved in we gave ourselves list of things to buy I bought all mine he never bought he's, food stuffs I bring full cupboard this guy carry only yam and garri come, my matric d guy didn't come but went to other peoples own, then wen he came back he went straight to my matric food and ate it with his brother and friends.

Just because he was older and I was shy and never told him this is my mind. Till Today he still sees me as a bad person just because one day before he went for weekend and came back I moved out and took everything I brought with me emptying the house

My cousin who is a female is currently staying with me. She doesn't Cook, sweep or fetch water. All she does is wake up eat and go to work.
Just overlooking all this behavior because she got only two months to stay with me.

P.S. Her mother has been kind.

I have 2 roommates and i thank God we are doing fine just that the other one is usually lazy to cook sha
